  1. I can answer this question for you. I have both a GX470 (not the 460) and an LX570. Quality and performance wise, it is slightly different as the LX570 is a much bigger vehicle to begin with. The GX feels more handy for those tight spaces or getting around town in and out. The space is no doubt a winner for the LX because it is bigger in all aspects. The only downside of the LX vs the GX is the braking. I can definitely feel the difference in braking. The GX can definitely give you the confidence that you can brake faster in an emergency situation while the LX feels like it may not stop on time in an emergency situation. Gas mileage has been approximately the same for me on both vehicles so it's a matter of what is important to you.
  2. Good day to all! I know I just recently acquired the LX570 about 7 months ago but I also just joined back in the LS group again. Previously had an 07 LS460 with the Parking Guidance. Just acquired an LS460 F Sport which will be the replacement for our BMW 535i. The F Sport LS still doesnt perform like a German BMW but it can suffice for now.
  3. Looks good Josh! It’s always nice to take a journal photo of the building progress. Something to look back on once you move in.
  4. Once every a dozen blue moons, I’m on here too lol. Weird how when I started lurking this forum 14 years ago, we only had a ONE Gx470 in our garage. Now, including my cars in Manila, we have 1 Rx300 Silversport, 2 GX470s, and 1 LX570. Oh and a BMW... don’t hate on the BMW too much lol.
  5. I believe it is a top spec. Original MSRP of $91,490. Thank you. Will have to learn more about this vehicle even though it shares a lot of similarities with my GX.\
  6. Hey guys. I know I've hardly been around this forum even though I'm the LX moderator. Anyways I'm excited to pick up a new to me, CPO LX this coming weekend. I'll have to familiarize myself with the topics discussed here about this vehicle.
  7. As of 8/17 80k miles on the clock for my Cali GX. 13k miles on my 2007 in Manila
  8. I personally have joined the band wagon of owning a Blizzard Pearl GX myself. I purchased it slightly used. I'll keep you guys posted about my observation of my 07 GX470 that is located in a humid warm country.
  9. Currently my 03 has 79,000 miles. Running like a champ. Just acquired a 2007 GX470 with only 12,000 miles on the ODO. It's my vacation car in the Philippines so this is a new experience for me as I will see how this vehicle can handle the tropical weather of my country.
  10. I agree. The RX300 wasn't made for the heavy duty hauling. I know I overloaded mine one time helping a friend move his stuffs out of his apartment to his new home and the distance was only a short 5 miles but I could feel that the vehicle was having a challenge pulling the trailer with, who knows how many pounds worth of household items on it.
  11. I find this surprising that the Blizzard Pearl has had many paint peeling issues over the years. As I previously had mentioned, they rolled out the Blizzard Pearl to replace the Sand Dollar Pearl that the first few GX470s rolled out with (including mine) due to a paint peel issue. *knock on wood* my Sand Dollar Pearl GX has had no paint peel issues at all. Always garaged, no body work.
  12. I find it odd that I had this issue happen to me twice. The first time around they said that some sensor was dirty so they "cleaned" it. The second time around (2 weeks ago) they said it was a faulty gas cap. I only have 77k miles on my 2003 GX.
  13. Yes there will be a TSB that Lexus will release very soon. I plan on getting mine replaced the first moment they release the TSB.
  14. 2000? Did you mean 2003? 2003 is the first year that the GX470 came out.
  15. Oh thank you! I really didn't veer off too far from my previous E60 2009 528i. I only opted for the 535i back in 2012 because they changed the engine of the 528i and made it a 4cyl turbo. Color combo was the exact same as my 528i but I added just the technology package just to get the backup camera. I almost decided to get alpine white in 2012 but decided to stick with Space Gray. We shall see next year if I stick to Space Gray or try something new ;-)
  16. Usually depends which Lexus was garaged and who its "partner" is for the evening (more cars than garage space available)
  17. Update as of 07/2014. 70k on the clock. 2003 GX470
  18. Personally I do not think anyone has done it yet but I don't see why it should be a problem since there is no mechanical or electronic feature on the seat that will cause any complications (like in my LS460 the rear seats recline, have automatic headrest adjustments, seat heater/cooler, and even memory seats for the back seats).
  19. Looks great! I've always wanted these Sport wheels even when I still had my 4Runner. Sold my 4Runner but thinking of putting these wheels on my Toyota SUV in the Philippines (Toyota Fortuner)..
  20. The positive and negative on the ballast (or wiring harness if you are using one) is opposite from the car's connector. In other words, the connector for the ballast to the car is suppose to snug fit only one way (where the tab will lock). I encountered this problem in my GX but tried it backwards and it works. Now since you have to install it backwards and the tabs don't lock, this is when you have to improvise. There are two options. 1st option: IF you are using a wiring harness, if you can take out the two metal prongs just go ahead and install them the other way. 2nd option: Make your own connector and make sure you get the positive and negative inserted in a way that the two connectors (from harness and to the car) to lock in the locking tabs and that the polarity is correct.
  21. This is clearly the CLUNK issue that the GX was notorious for. There is a TSB pinned at the top of this GX forum. Take it to your dealer and have them fix it. It took my GX 3 different driveshafts, 3 different lubing techniques until they finally fixed it for good. The driveshaft I'm now driving on is coated with Teflon, I believe.
  22. Galtom is correct. There is no possible way to install an aftermarket double din without completely ruining the OEM look of the RX300. Swapping out from a non-nav to a nav has been done but it is very VERY costly, and very labor intensive. I've seen a video on youtube before. Will try and post it if i find it again. I've seen the whole setup on ebay for sale at one point (someone must have been bored and decided to assemble one) and was selling it for about $2500 which included all the Nav computer, Screen, radio/climate controls, Nav antenna, and Nav amplifier. If that seller would sell it again, $2500 for parts only plus oh maybe another $1000 for a labor with your local stereo shop (unless you are a DIY kind of a guy), this is roughly a $3k-$4k investment.
  23. That's right. I was thinking of the new IS. lol. My mistake. But Paul is right. It takes a little getting used to. Just like your G37, I didn't like the barn door trunk design but I love the rest of the vehicle... So the barn door was not a big enough reason for me to not purchase one. Same will go for the grille. If it's not a big deal, or not a deal breaker, you will still buy that new Lexus regardless ;)
