  1. I have to agree with you, Garmen is so much better overall. I have a 750 that I love to use. My friend has a 2003 LX470 and just loves his GPS. Guess it's what you get use to. I might get the 2009 update since with rebate it will cost me $150.
  2. What I did was to request an estimate on the repair. They thought that the problem may be the Control module, sensor radar or the pre-collision system. All labor intensive. Just getting an estimate was going to be costly. I know that the Control module itself can be $778 if ordered via the web, that is NOT what the dealer charges plus labor.. All I wanted was to be able to just use the cruise control I don't need the laser functions at a $3000 cost! I'm sorry if I sound unreasonable.
  3. As you get older you realize that you get what you pay for, but my recent trip to repair my Cruise Control on my 2005 LS430 at a Lexus Dealership, was beyond what I could afford. I was told that the labor rate is $80 an hour and that the part if broken, could be as high as $3000. I left the dealership, and thought to myself that the Cruise Control would not be a feature that I'd be using. My display warns "Check Cruise System" when you engage cruise and you cannot override the radar laser system by engaging the cruise lever towards the dashboard for over a second! My question is for any member within Queens or Long Island, who do you take your car to that is reliable and affordable.
  4. I have to make one correction, the car does indeed have dynamic radar. I just wonder how much will the Dealer will charge to fix?
  5. Well this is a Bummer! First time using the Cruise function, the cruise light indicator control light came on with a caution warning triangle. CC does not engage at all! Cruise indicator flashes slowly on and off and caution light triangle displays. Displays CC warning. Car runs great other wise, no other electrical problems. I've done a search within the forum and no one else seems to have had this problem. Of cause I'm out of warranty. The car is not equipped dynamic radar. Any ideas?
  6. I tried to find the a/c filters under the seat and found a small ashtray like compartment in both the driver's and passenger's seat. Both of these, slide out trays, were clean and empty. Is this where the seat filters should be? I just bought my 2005 ls430 :)
  7. I just bought this car used and really enjoy it. Unfortunately there isn't much information on it's navigation setup. I have the leaflet and the cd rom but they only answer general setup questions, so I know that I must be missing out on something else. BTW I so far I find that the Garmin 660/750 are easier to use than the factory GPS, I also miss the cartoon like look of the Garmin. My wife has asked if the new version 8 have any improvements over my 4.2 version? If so is it worth the upgrade costs? Is there a pdf site where I can get the Navigation manual? Here is another question, how do you delete previously traveled points from it's memory?
