  1. I am looking to add cell phone bluetooth integration to my 04 GX470 too. The popular kit is from Parrot, model CK3100. Here is a link: http://www.parrot.biz/products/index.php?id=ck3100 I was searching for the mute wire, Lexus sent me the 2004 Nav radio schematic in PDF. I'll attach it. I have not decided which mute wire to use. Maybe someone has a suggestion? I check out the Lexus Link mute. -Brian Well, my attachement does not seem to be getting added. email me if you want the wiring diagram of the nav radio.
  2. We have a new GX470 (1000 miles) and have noticed that there is a major difference in the volume levels between the radio and the DVD system. When we switch from playing a movie back to the FM radio we get blasted and have to quickly turn down the volume of the radio. We have tried different DVDs with the same result. We just had the 1000 mile service and had asked the techs about it. They did not have answer other than "that is the way it is" and that the two systems use different amps. Is anyone else experiencing this? Can I adjust the level of the DVD amp to turn it up to match the radio? Thanks guys! -Brian
  3. Means Read The F****ing Manual Since you reply to 400 emails a day, to save time you can just say RTFM to bozos like me who don't read their owners manual.
  4. SK, you got me good! Great comeback. RTFM applies here.
  5. ;) OK, I was NOT able to find spray paint for the the Oyster Pearl. Even the touch up was hard to find. So for $75 I am having the Lexus-Approved body shop paint the brackets. The mirrors are also being painted so they match. That is a deal at $75 (but way more than a $4 can of spray paint). Oh well. For sale: '97 ES300 with only 62,000 miles! Asking high blue book: 12,900.
  6. Thanks guys for all the clear and to the point replies.
  7. skperformance, I really appreciate your reply but your english is not too good. Can you try again? I really do want your opinion but you made some contradictory statements in your reply so I can't determine what you are trying to say to me. I did use Lucas "Power Steering" Stop Leak not tranny stop leak. Thanks! ;)
  8. I have a power steering pump that is leaking. The leak is small and drips a nickel size spot a day. I have cleaned the area and can see that it is the pump. A new (remanufactured) pump is $500 plus labor at the a mechanic or dealership. I can get the pump at a local parts store for $210. I'd change it myself but it is buried deep on the side of the engine. The guy at the local parts store suggested that I use the $10 "Lucas Power Steering Stop Leak". I drained the reservoir and filled it with the Lucas. It has been a week and still leaks. The question is: How long will it take the contents of the reservoir to work it's way around into the power steering system? I am in a hurry to have the leak stop or at least be unnoticeable for the next year. Thanks!
  9. Mine is out too. The dealer wants $500 for the radio and more for labor. You can check ebay but make sure that you do not get one for a '97 (radio model number P1705), get one meant for a '98. You can get it repaired for less money or even less if you by the LCD from Pioneer and have someone put it in or do it yourself. Or you can just buy a nice aftermarket radio that supports MP3s. If you go aftermarket you can get a kit that fits the stock hole. The kits upper area fits the new radio, the kits bottom area has a slot that you can throw CDs or sunglasses in. See this thread for information about what part number to order from Pioneer. http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...51&hl=radio+lcd I am trying to sell my '97 (62K miles) and need to fix the LCD. Good luck. -Brian
  10. GS400jon, How do you like the KDSS? It is more for off-road, do you notice anything while driving around town. I hear you can't tow anything if you have the KDSS, true? -brian
  11. I think the door hinges are on the curb side so the door stays open while loading it. The street slants toward the curb. If the door hinged on the side away from the curb then the door tend to close itself on your arm while loading it up. So it is a safety concern. So they hinge it on the curb side. -Brian
  12. I too also have a 97 ES300 Oyster Pearl and the paint has peeled off of the mirror brackets!!!!!! I am trying to sell it and need to find matching spray paint. I can't seem to locate the Oyster Pearl. Does anyone know where I can find it? Also my black pillars have peeled. Also my LCD on the radio has gone bad. I wonder why I am upgrading to the GX470? Let me knwo if you know of a car parts store that carries the Oyster Pearl. Thx. -Brian
