  1. hrm... well i don't believe it was ripped out, i don't think this 'older' couple who i bought it from would have done that... maybe the head unit has the amp built in to the channel for the sub, it is a big unit, so who knows??? ProZac
  2. Exactly! lol.. i mean its my es, i pay for it. But if he goes to put a roast in the oven and my lamps are on the rack???? Oh... wait! we have a double oven.. ill just use the bottom oven and he can use the top one, he will have NO idea Like Magic :magic: Problem solved! ProZac :P B)
  3. Yea. on my '97 i pushed the seat ALL the way up, and all that is there are the vents for the Heater.... the amp is the size of a standard one right? somewhat flat, yet a big square??? its not under the passanger seat..... ProZac (where oh where has my little amp gone, oh where oh where could it beeee?) B)
  4. hey, im SUPER lazy... and my dad would freak if i put my lamps in our oven, how much would it cost to get new ones???? just throwing it out there, not like i money anyway! lol.... geez im poor :P ~prozac~
  5. Ok ok... now i hear everybody say the amp is under the front passanger seat... i Look and Look but see NOTHING!!! lol do i have to rip up the carpet? Because all i see directly under the seat is the gears for the seat adjustment. I have a '97 es. ProZac
  6. akiraxtc, OMG THAT IS SWEET MILEAGE!!!! i got 249 miles last week when the fule light turnd on!!! lol This week was pretty good though, i got to 100mpg just past the 3/4 tank mark, then it went kind of down hill from there But i almost got a mile more per gallon this week (i didn't wait till light turnd on, i filled it at a little under a quarter tank left). Also, i just added some Valvoline Fuel System Treatment $9.69 usd. Suppose to clean the injectors and valves and junk. The box says i should follow up every 3k miles with their regular injector cleaner too. SOOoo we'll have to see what the future weeks hold ahead. akiraxtc, I will keep in mind those prices, i haven't done a tune-up yet or an injector flush, so i don't know how much my machanic will charge, but i will let you know when/if i do :) Gas in my city in southern california was $2.079/g for 91 oct at an Exxon/Mobile station (i wish i could try 93 oct like steviej :D ) The Battle moves ahead, ProZac

  8. Hrmmm i have gen 2.. but gen 2.5 looks RAD! what year is that? like can i get that bumber etc??? ProZac
  9. LOL... i was gonna say... TURRRRBOOO!!!!... Well... didn't mcelligott put NOS in his es 300??? thats kinda cool too. and i actively thought about a Camery super chrger for my es.. but its TOO much Mula... And i have no $... maybe in 5 years ill have a good career and more $$$ then buy a GS 400 and L-TUNE the Heck outta it!!!! (I would do BAD things to have that car :whistles: ) ProZac
  10. Welcome! and nice ride, you'll like it!
  11. lexo, You run turbo on an es 300???? how good is it for ya???? I toy'd with the idea of it, but well how ya like it??? ProZac
  12. Yah. i think the fronts need a tad more air. but i don't want to over inflate... AND when i used the gasstation pump last time the seal on the pump was messed up so it draind air and not filled.. so ill try another station! The War on Gas Continues! ProZac
  13. I have a 97, and have the Bridgestone Turanza H Revo's.. they're pretty good. i thought i needed to replace them because the side was kinda cracking, BUT i put Armorall spray on them and *POOF* they look great again. Oh also.. i polished my chrome. I look styling :P The tires handel pretty good. They churp at 45 MPH on a pretty good right turn, not copletely 90deg. But i would like to see it hold a tad better. Does well in the rain too, i pretty much drive as i usually do which is agressive (100mph in misty rain today, on straight highway tho, so eazy). I would say its a good all around tire... however i haven't ever tried another. I will buy them again too. Stick with what works right? B) ProZac
  14. I was doing SOOO well with my gas this week! a little over a quater tank 100+miles!!!! WHOOT!. its because i did more freeway driving this week . i haven't done any fule treatment yet (because i forgot to add it before i refilled my car) but i will try that. The mileage went down tho because i got impatient and did "fun" driving <!--emo&--><!--endemo--> Oh. also i raced my girlfriends stock 2001 civic against my 97 es I won... Oh yea and i DID ask her if she floored it and she said yes! I even asked her if she thought she would beat me and she said "yes" hahaha... well showed her!! B) Do you guys ever peal out on flat good ground, facing stright ahead? Ok ok ok... i will get back to good driving, honest :) I think the fule treatment will help, but i have about another week to see! Thanks again guys, ProZac
  15. lol... i TRY not to pee in there.... but the leather seats are JUST TOO TEMPTING!!! :whistles:
  16. Welcome NeiLtYme! I like you am sorta new here :P This guys are fun. I also don't have any money becuase of the car (97 es300 black with gray trim on bottom) The only thing close to a mod i have done is Polish my crome rims yesterday and OMG! I Feel like im some RICH Rapper! *Bling-Bling* Enjoy! ProZac
  17. Wow.. i thought i was the only one getting a funky smell with the A/C... i have only had my 97 for a few months so i thought it was old lady smell weird! ProZac
  18. Good ideas, I check the oil change list: Oil Filter changed, motor oil, and drain gasket changed. Air Filter, all fluid levels, belts and hoses, tire pressure checked but not changed. done March 07 2003 The only recomendation they had was brakes soon because i have 25% front 30% back. so like next oil change probably. So, if i put a fule additave treatment thingy-ma-bob (high tech terminology) like STP fule cleaner, that might help? Its worth a try. I have about 70k miles, should i wait for 75k or 80k for them to change spark Plugs, or they probably know? I use to DIY my girlfriends 90' VW Cabriolet, but this 97 Lex is LOT more complicated :P so ill leave it to the professionals. Thanks m8's ProZac
  19. Hey Guys! I drive a 1997 es300, I drive to school, work, and around town. I feel like i get POOR gas mileage. I just filled the tank 15.516 Gallons, and my tripometer read 249.2 Miles. SO i Divided the Miles/Gallons and got 16.06 Miles per Gallon. Now this is my first car, so am i doing that wrong??? When i drive to school on the freeway its about a 6 mile stretch then goes about 2~3 miles on surface streets (about 15mile round trip), and to work i drive streets (4 mile round trip) Yeah. i live Pretty close to all the places i drive. On this past tank i tried to drive conservate to see if my gas mileage would improve, not FLOORING it every light, and not passing people up like crazy (my es isn't a sports car but it feels like it sometimes ) on another tank i did the same calucation and got about 13 Miles per Gallon but i was driving like a madman. Is there something wrong with my car??? i have no mods, its all stock. OR is this normal? i did have an oil change about 2 months ago (had the car almost 4 months now), could they have bumped something and made my mileage worse? It did feel as if the car was a little sluggish weeks after the oil change. Oh, also, what Grade gas do you guys use? i had been using Mid Grade, but since gas prices in CA have gone down i just started to use Premium (if $2.118 is cheap for premium at a MOBIL station) and thats when i got the +3 MPG. Thanks ProZac
  20. Hey akiraxtc, I have the Bridgestone Turanza H Revo (p205/65r15 they were on the car when i bought it) They TOO break at 45 mph on about a 180 deg turn. They work fine in wet conditions, light and heavy. i didn't notice much or any loss of traction, however i wasn't driving crayz too, just 80+mph in semi straight highway and streets. BUT, sometimes when i am stoped and its dry, then floor it i get a little loss in traction, and if i am stoped then start to turn with a heavier peddle, then it really looses traction (but of course the car has less traction turned than when its straight) Im looking at the Bridgestone PotenzaRE950, they seem to be $20 less than the Turanza... Hrm.. the Potenza are rated 400AA, and the Turanza 400AA A.... lol I just noticed. Maybe i should stick to the Turanza's... However there is some pretty good cracking on some of the tires, but there is a good amount of tread left. The previous owner kept it in the gradge and only parked outside at work. it has been with me for about 3 months now and lives outside :P I am going to get my car detaild tomorrow and have them Armorall the tires and see if they look better. then I will let ya know. Oh Ak. This car was recomended to us by our machanic, who is SUPER trustworty. they have done ALL the matanance on the car (except for the ones lexus gives you free for the first year or two). so they already knew the car when I bought it from the private party. Plus they do all the matanance on my dad's 99 4-Runner and our 92 Previa, we haven't had a problem yet! Of course, i recomend going to a machanic who specialzes in Toyota and Lexus only. not those guys who "We Service All Cars!" because they may not know specific things about your car that a 'specialist' would. Enough typing for me, ProZac
  21. WOW, It Looks Great! Wish mine looked so cherry, but black seems to attrackt scuff marks, dings and dirt... :( But, its nothing that can't be cleaned and buffed out (as for the dings, im gonna try that 'ding king' where u superglue a suction cup to the dent and pull it out: anybody use one before???? :P ) akiraxtc that was a GREAT deal! By the way. im due for new brakes and tires in a few months too, what are you gonna get??? ProZac
  22. Sk you said exactly what i have been thinking, but didn't want to admit. it IS pointless to have a screen unless there is a reason (like driving people long distances, or going to shows). I just want a screen because it looks cool, and i could put NAV on it (like on a BEAUTIFUL Pioneer system i almost bought a few days ago). But it all takes $... Choices, choices Well, i still have lots of time because my stereo still works, i just can't see the lcd so i just play CD's and set my preset channes by ear. But if you see a Kit for a 97' let me know :D Thanks for the help, ProZac
  23. www.bossaudio.com <--- Ive seen them around, just never used em myself... tough decisions... If i got a system like this http://www.bossaudio.com/products/dvd.htm#7000 I would still be without my tape deck (hardly use it). Well i got some time to choose because i have to get new brakes and tires, which will drain my cash for a few months. Maybe Ill make a new thread soon with more sterios to compair. thx ProZac
  24. Hey Sk, where can u buy this $25 Kit? i got a 97, and I am gonna put an aftermarket system in, maybe Also. guys? i want a monitor and dvd player, but EVERYBODY says no... what's your oppinion. i can get an in deck DVD player and im gonna buy a 7" screen to mount myself or stick in the Glove box. Here's the deck im looking at, any Cons??? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...3020189320&rd=1 Thanks, ProZac
  25. lol Thanks for the Info Steviej, Forgot that they needed to do dispose of the old tires. Oh and I LOVE how aquatred tires look ever since i first saw their commercail years ago, ya know, the one where the guy poors Big yellow buckets of water on the tire to show how it channels the water :P Oh and i think in CA after 100mph its considerd wreckless driving and you can get ur lisence and car taken away and taken to jail. Also i think there is an attemted manslaughter charge if you're caught driving even faster. (me is gonna stick to a solid 90mph ) Thanks again, ProZac
