I use 91 octane most always, the last Tank i use 89, I had just filled up the tank with 91 drove around for a bit, went home for a few hours, then went back to my car and there was the problem...

Hey Guys. long time no see. Ive been SUPER bizy with school and working.

AND on my way to work, i go outside to start my car and *Veroom... dub dub dub (low !Removed! rpm's) dead...* Now when i try to start it, the only way to keep it going is to rev the gas, when i let off the gas, it dies.... :( If ya remember, i have a 1997, im depressed cause i just did my taxes and have to pay $400...

Anybody know an eazy fix (probably won't be one) otherwise i gotta get it towed to my mechanic and let them have at it!

Wow. crazy new browzer. took me a few minutes to see find the "reply" buttons! lol Srs lights are weird these days. Do ya have Side airbags on your 99' ??? If ya lean on the sides of your seats, they light will turn on and not deploy if you get in an accident. Maybe you're sitting funny?

Where do you live? Because Cold for southern California (where i live) is 55F. I have a 97' and haven't had too many shift hesitation when i start up the car (i have almost 75k miles). Does it keep happening on cold startups, or does it only happen when it is REALLY cold outside?

Sirrus is just another brand of sattelite Radio. I guess you can say its like Timewarner Cable and AT&T Cable, just two different companies. However, XM and Sirrus have their own stations, which im sure are alike in styles

Hrm... That little Wallet key started my car right up also. It seems too light and small to have such a chip in it. Also, my key and remote locker are separate, unlike those newer unlockers that are built into the actual key. do you think that my model 97' doesn't have an imobilizer? i also don't have that cool traction control and my model 97 was made in 96' if that matters.

Best Buy did a great job i believe. Also, im not TOO sure, but i think that the RF modulater is built into the amp for my dad's unit, but i am probably wrong.

For my setup, i just use the Tape adapter to listen to it (A crummy way to go in my oppinion) and I use the a/c jack in the center consul to power my unit, while my dad's unit is hardwired.

ok guys. sorry it took longer than i thought, but here's the Pics!

First is my 97' lexus. i have the Portable Sony reciever its bulky because the amp is built in, unlike the pioneer unit which needs a separate amp, or something like that :D

and the antenna in the back by the Subwoofer. Yes i Washed my car less than a week ago :P lots of dirt here!

Ya know what. i didn't notice my window being slow untill today when i was rolling it up and rememberd this thread!!! honest

But that could have been just because i was watching it... Who knows!?!?!? :)

All i know is that the windows on my sisters 97 ford explorer go up SUPER FAST, like honestly you should see it, i would bet them to Win/PLace/Show (the gamblers in the group should know what i mean :P )

Hey! i have XM in my 97, but i have an old XM SONY unit, its the one that ur suppose to stick on the dashboard somewhere, WELL i didn't like that idea so i put it in my Box in the center, i haven't really hard wired it, BUT ill post pics tomorrow to show you what i did! ALSO, instead of putting the antenna on the TOP of my car (i also have the older shark-fin antenna) i put it in the rear window next to the Subwoffer and i still get GREAT reception! so, maybe you can do that too, so you don't have to spoil the GOOD LOOKS of the ES!

Ill also try to take pics of my Dads unit he has in his car! (99 4-Runner) he has that small Pioneer unit in that Picture, i don't know why there is that OTHER big thingy in the gradge door opener part, cause its not needed! that little pioneer thing and a box reciever under your seat is all it needs. Also, he has an RF modulator so he just preset the station on his radio, and the XM uses that. Sure its not "Pure digital" but it still sounds great! Best Buy did a GREAT job with his, as you'll see! Goodnight!

OK, my 97 Started RIGHT UP!!!! WHAT THE HECK?!!?!?!?!? Should I take it to lexus and have them fix anything, if possible? That is REALLY quite scary.... BUT, i wonder if there is a mechanism in the ignition that knows weather or not it is a lexus key, or somebody breaking into it to hotwire or start it with a Screwdriver??????? WHAT SHALL WE DO!?!?!?!?!?
