  1. Hello everyone. My 2000 GS 300 turned over 90,000 miles this week and almost exactly the same time I started having a buzzing sounc occur when I first start the car. I had to laugh. It was as if it were programmed to occur at that milage. It only lasts 15 seconds are so, it is pretty loud and occurs regardless if AC or radio is on or off. Does anyone have idea what this may be? Thanks so much. I always appreciate your responses. Susan
  2. MY 2000 GS 300 ,which as 85,000 miles, does not perform as well as it did a short time ago. It does not accelerating as quickly as it did before. It has a new battery, throttle body was cleaned about 6 months ago and spark plugs replaced. It ran better immediately after the throttle body was cleaned but now it isn't really very much fun to drive. I loved the way it would accelerate quickly in the past. Any Lexus gurus have any suggestions. I would sure appreciate it. Regards Susan
  3. Thanks,, I am not realy handy and I am not a man. I thank you for your kind response
  4. I was being a klutz and I scrapped the passenger side front bumber and broke the lens on the blinker. Does anyone know of a way to improve the appearance of the bumper scraps short of replacing a bumper? Thanks 2000 GS300 :cries:
  5. Could some one tell me what to expect the price to be in soutwest florida when the starter is replaced?
  6. At 80,000 miles I had an oil leak, I was told it is around the timeing belt gear. Replaced timing belt, water pump. The person who replace told me the timing belt had been replaced before. Could someone tell me under what circumstances a timebelt would need replaced prior to 80,000 miles? Thanks so much
  7. I just has water pump timing belt replaced at $780.00. I don't know what is typical for this but the dealer quoted me $1200.00, a LexTech quoted $1100. I also just had to have the starter replaced, lexus part, I paint $380.00 for that. I wonder if that is a typical cost? :whistles:
  8. Has any one had to repair an oil leak from the timing gear? I was given an estimate of $1100 to replace the gear, timing belt. Has anyone had this type of leak and do you think the repair price reasonable? Thanks for your feedback.
  9. really would help if we knew where the leak was coming from....the vvti seals? the block the head, etc....what does the quote from the dealership say? u sure they not quoting u to do the 70k or 80k maintenance also? Thanks for your response. The dealer explained they didn't know where the leak was coming from until they were inside the engine. So I am afraid I don't know where.
  10. My 2000 gs 300 has small oil leak and I was quoted a large price by a lexus dealer to fix. I am not sure where the leak is occuring. Has anyone else experience a leak at this mileage and if so where was it leaking? Thanks so much.
