  1. Thanks to both of you for the quick response posts. We live just outside of Sacramento, CA and have had the vehicle since May 2009. The rims are aftermarket and were purchased via the Internet from a Lexus dealership in MA - according to the previous owner. He also said he did not have this problem. We have not had this vehicle up to the mountains where there might be salt on the roads. The dealership did say that since we purchased replacement tires from Costco, that Costco may have applied a sealer that caused the corrosion - of course Costco denies this. I think we will go with your suggestion to have the dealership pin-point the problem area and then see if we can have the rim replated. It appears to be only one of the front rims. Thanks again for your assistance! Happy New Year!!!
  2. We have a 2007 IS250 that we purchased used. It came with Lexus chrome rims. Low tire pressure warning has come on several times. Dealership claims it is due to corrosion on chrome rims and that there is nothing they can do to fix. Has anyone else had this problem, and if so, were you able to resolve? Rims look really great, but this problem is causing us to think about replacing them.
  3. We recently purchased an IS 250. I understand the "250" denotes the engine size(?), but wondering what the IS means - as well as GS, ES, LS, SC, RX, etc. Didn't see anything on the Lexus website - anyone here know?
