  1. Needs a new charcoal canister, something with the ABS...I can't even remember everything, lol. I have to get the statement from Lexus so I can look over everything again. So lame. Do you think it would be better to part it?
  2. Okay, soo I have a '99 GS400 that I love, but it turns out there are several things wrong with it that I honestly can't afford to fix so what I'm wondering is if anyone is interested in buying it really cheap or if it's more worth it to sell it for parts. Both of which are sad to me :( but I just can't afford it. It's black with tan interior, tints, pioneer cd player, pop-up lcd screen, dvd player, custom alloy rims, took the spacers out, but you can have em if you want em. Just got it fully detailed, too. I'll include more details later about the car and what's wrong with it if anyone's interested. I'm in New York City so if anyone's in the boroughs or the tri-state area it's not a far trip. Thanks
  3. The car drove for 550 more miles with no problem after the first time it stalled...plenty of gas, etc. Soo, I found out what's wrong with it today and it's such an obscene amount of stuff that I can't even remember all of it; charcoal canister, abs problems...it goes on. I thought it was bad enough when I thought the estimate would be around 500, haha. Failll :(
  4. I would definitely ask for more pictures and at least test drive the car, but obviously look into accidents, etc. 193k is a decent amount of miles...The kbb private party value is around 5k (in good condition), but you might be able to negotiate the price a bit.
  5. Soo I drove like 550 miles away for Thanksgiving and 50 miles from where I needed to be my gs accelerated then deccelerated, accelerated one more time and then the gas pedal stopped responding completely...Got it towed to a Lexus dealership where they kept it for four days and they couldn't find anything wrong with it. I picked it up and the car was riding fine for almost 500 miles until it did the same thing in Jersey, leaving me stuck on the side of the road AGAIN. When I tried to start the car it would start initially, the car would shake, the engine would die and then a bunch of lights on my dash came on. Both oil lights, the battery light and my rear tail light icon came on, wtf? The battery is new, did my transmission and changed my oil recently. I got the PPS replaced recently, but I don't think it's that. Is it the fuel pump? Helppp, it's in the shop again and no one seems to be able to figure it out. Blah.
  6. Thanks for the links. I've had the polyurethane bushing for a while. I did get my tires balanced shortly after I posted which helped dramatically...Just a slight vibration 70+, which still kind of annoys me. I'll definitely try what the guy posted in your second link. I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks, guys!
  7. Oh, man, that sucks. :( Sorry to hear that. At least you're okay! I hope it's not too soon to say, but if you decide to part it, keep me posted! lol Thanks, and good luck with a new car. What do you think you're gonna get?
  8. Where Did You get the PPS ? Do You have any reference Site so I can get it online ? Yeah, I got the PPS replaced. 349 for the part. Lame, but the ride is so much better now.
  9. I've used SeaFoam for years and it's done a good job. I wouldn't say use it often, just every once in a while. If you haven't used SeaFoam or something like before then yes, a lot of crap does come out of your exhaust, but if you maintain it for the most part you won't really see a thing.
  10. That's nuts. I would definitely shop around. I got my front brakes done, new rotors etc, Lexus parts and all for 275. :D My guy also waives tax n some other stuff for me, but still...780...no way. Good luck :)
  11. It's something like $150 through Lexus, which is annoying because it's really just a piece of plastic. I would replace it eventually just in the off-chance you run over something again I feel like it would be better to have something protecting the undercarriage. Good luck
  12. I have the same problem. I see a decent amount of condensation in my headlights pretty often. Do I need a new gasket? How do I make this better? Because it honestly looks like crap and I can't stand it. Thanks!
  13. From what I hear the 7 series have a lot of problems...I know someone with a 740 i and they recently put about two grand into it...no, thanks. My '99 GS400 has almost 147,000 miles on it and the only thing I've had to replace is the accelerator sensor. Other than that, this car is awesome. :D
  14. I use mobil and it holds up really well. I change the filter and oil about every 5k. It's more expensive, but I think it ends up being worth it in the end.
  15. cause they are ebay crap. those headlights are seriously junk sir..... B) looolz nah man....they are pretty nice.....mine came with 8000k HID built in.....i get compliments everywhere i go.....but hey everyone got their own taste.....good luck lol thanks, guys...can either of you or anyone else reccommend any other ones as well? If not, no worries. Thanks! ;)
