Hi all, I have a ES300 1992 V6 3L. The city consumption increasedin the last month and I am not able to find what cause this. The highway consumption remain the same. Before I had 10 L/100km on highway and 12-13 in city. Now I have the same city consumption of 10 L/100km, but on highway I get 16-17 L/100km. This is almost 25-30% more. I think the first question is, why the consumption has increased only in city and not on highway ? I drive the same way has before, around 110km/h on highway and the same ride to go to work. I have new spark plugs, cap distributor... engine idle and run fine, not missing IAC cleaned Air filter new. Catalitic converter perfect. No check engine. Got a professional injector cleaner, nothing change in consumption, except a gain in torque at low revolution. Wheels alignment and everything was fine. (tire pressure ok) otherwise good acceleration (no change on driving behavior) I am wondering why consumption increased only in city, any idea ?

I change my 2 rear strut ( shock) with 2 monroe sensa-trac. After only 1 years, I have to replace it, the new one last only 1 years again. I decde to change the compagny to an awesome one, dont remember the name, but not KYB, and again, only 1 years and have to change it again because they have leakage, got lot of oil that droping down the strut. Now I don't know what to do. If I take KYB GR-2, will it work good or only for 1 year again ? Can the problem come from an other thing that make my strut going out so fast ? My coilspring isn't broke, seem in good condition. The back of the car is at the right place, not going down like when the car seem overload, so I think they are already good. I also live in city, so I don't use rought road or off road, because it could be a cause of premature brokage... not my case... I got 130 000 miles... What's really going wrong with this *BLEEP* suspension

I buy Monroe sensa-trac, I have to change it every years with lifetime warranty... Next time I will check for KYB, dont be fool....

finaly, did you try the monroe part ? For me, I replace 2 time the rear strut with monroe sensa-trac and they are already dead for the 3rd time, they only live 1 years each time :(
