  1. On my 95 gs300 with 130k, the speedometer and tachometer needles are not lit up anymore. They flickered till their death. I find it rather difficult to read the speedometer now. What are my options to fix this problem? replace the needle? entire instrument panel? replace some other part? Thanks Sam
  2. I do smell anti freeze, and I can see it too. There is coolant dripping from someplace towards the rear axel too... Would you reccommend just changing the heater core?
  3. My windshield fogs up really fast and defrost does barely anything to get rid of the fog. Theres 130k on the car, 1995 gs300. When I bought it at 108k, it didn't ever do this. There has been coolant I believe, or some kind of visible gas/fluid coming through my vents in the past. And recently, when I can my transmission coolant flushed, it got really bad. I cleaned all the fog off manually, and 10 mins later, it was getting fogged up again, even with the car off. I even once tried to block off all the defrost vents and the windshield still fogged up quickly. I've heard of this possibily being a heater core problem, any thoughts? thanks. Sam
  4. Definitely check the accessory belt, mine broke at about 125,000, i have a 95 GS300 and my car overheated and cost me lots of money Oh yeah, don't forget to check the radiator and thermostat, both of them went on me around 120k
  5. Hey folks, just recently, on my 129000 mile GS300, a odorless, visible air/gas, whatever.... started to come out of my A/C vents when my car was operating normally, as far as I know. I recently replaced the radiator with a OEM style replacement, about 500 or so miles ago. My heat control switch had some residue on it, and after cleaning it off, i found out it has a very tiny leak on it, and for 50 bucks, i would rather not fix it if its not that big of a issue. Anyone know what could be wrong with my A/C? Oh and by the way, I turned off my A/C and it still was coming through the vents, just a little bit. Thanks Sam
  6. I bought one of those 7 dollar blanks on ebay, so i could make a copy of my master key, and i just got off the phone with my local lexus dealership and they said they won't cut it, and I would have to have a locksmith do it, and most of the locksmiths i know, say i should go to the dealership. It costs 45 bucks for a new one, the dealership parts person said on the phone. I don't know whether its liablilty issue of why they cannot cut my blank i got on ebay or what. The blank doesn't have any buttons on the side of it or anything, just a plain old black plastic end that has "ilco" imprinted on the side of it. I know it is for my car, i just can't find anyone to cut it. Thanks Sam
  7. Right, it does not work, due to my theft system that disables the trunk release... my anti theft system went off when i had the AAA guy breaking into my locked car for me.
  8. I have a 1995 GS300....Could anyone please tell me what color wire is the one that runs from the front of the car, back to the trunk, aka... the trunk release wire.. Could someone also please tell me which side of the car it is on, as I locked my master and only keys in the trunk, and have no way to open it up until i go to the dealership on monday, to get another key made, but im trying to avoid that. Anyone else have any ideas of how i could get into my trunk... the anti-theft system went off 4 times when the AAA technican was breaking into it, so its all disabled, though i can get in and roam around my car... Any suggestions would be great! Thanks Sam Yurick
  9. Yeah I imagine if you upgraded the entire system to nakamichi it would make a difference, but im not looking to spend tons of money to also get new speakers, and since i have a "7 speaker" system, if you count the tweeters. Thanks for the suggestion man.... Sam
  10. Most likely not, toyota and lexus are the same companies, the only difference these days is where was the car made, japan-lexus, us-toyota. You may notice other parts that say toyota on them... same company
  11. Since I hear all about the first generation GS300 amps in the trunk getting water damaged all the time, and I'm going to get mine replaced due to this common problem, I was wondering if anyone has come with any creative idea of how to protect our amps from the water so I can try to make my replacement amp last longer than it did. Thanks in advance.... Sam
  12. Awesome man, thanks for the idea. Where could I find the nakamichi amp / headunit?
  13. how many watts do each speaker (tweeters, mids, highs....) put out in a factory 7 speaker system (95 GS300) with factory speakers. I don't want to replace my speakers but i do want to replace my amp, so i need sense of how many watts i need. how many channels would you guys reccomend for a aftermakret amp. Thanks
  14. anyone else have any suggestions for my eletrical problems? Thanks
  15. Hey people, what's up? I recently got a used 95 GS300 with 110k miles and when my car is off, there is 1.8 amps being pulled from my battery, which pretty much kills my battery in a day, if i don't drive it. I took it in, the guy at the shop said that he needs some kind of radio call signal to get into the wiring system and figure out whats wrong, which would cost oodles. So I took it over to my uncle, who knows A LOT about cars and we were using the lexus manual to find the fuses, he pulled the dome fuse, that uses 10 amps max, and the voltmeter we were using went straight back down to 0. The car still runs without that fuse, but some things don't work, tilt on steering wheel, radio, clock, power locks. Oddly enough, according to the manual, that fuse powers my sun/moon roof, but it works 100%. I don't really know what to do, or how to diagnose where the short circuit is, if there is one, which is most likely the case. Should I take it in? Or can i do something else, anyone have any suggestions? Thanks Sam Yurick
  16. Hey people, I am pretty damn sure its my amp that is the problem, on another side note, something is draining my battery while my car is completly off, maybe its my amp, don't know, im gonna take it in to have it looked at tomorrow, need to be inspected anyway. Anyway, is the amp on a 95 gs300 w/12cd changer (stock) in the trunk also? It looks like the amp is right under the cd changer, is that really it? Thanks Sam Yurick
  17. Hello, I just purchased a used 95 GS300 with 108k miles. Both of the speakers by the driver work only, none of the other ones do. Does anyone know what could cause this or what is the problem with my speaker/audio system. It has a 12 cd changer in the trunk. The seller thought it could be the amp that is causing the speakers not to work, any suggestions? Thanks Sam Yurick
