  1. I always use this guide for help. From the looks of it you HAVE to use 9006
  2. Is this in reference to your fan motor which controls if air comes through to your cabin vents?
  3. it may have something to do with the weather in your area as mine was having symptons too durning very cloudy snow days and very heavy rains. Hows the weather when this was happening?
  4. ok ...heres an update. Just like that my car has stopped doing this behavior. I have also learned that it was trying to lock it self, not unlock. I guess it was in Lexus alarm mode. Here is why I think this is the case. When we (New York) had the snow storm, my car was acting up and the FOB was not working. The first time I tried to open my car manually the alarm with off. When I put the key in the ignition to start the car, the alarm went off but since the FOB didn't work it never reseted the car. Every since that snow storm NY was hit with bad weather condition after bad weather condition. And this is the first time I have had this car through a snow storm so I never experinced this before. Now that this crazy rain has cleared and we have clear and sunny skies, my FOB is working without a hitch and I can drive without hearing my doors trying to lock itself. I don't know if this is normal behavior or i'm just a rare case. Does anyone have any background with there cars acting weird in stormy conditions? They claim we had the equivalent of 6 nor easters with all the snow and rain we had this past winter.
  5. Ok maybe there isn't a ghost in my car but an electrical issue. Here is the synopsis. In NY for the past couple weeks we have been having some crazy weather. Some days very cloudy, then others snows heavy, then sunny and warm then rain with hurricane winds (as of recent). This caused some hesitation with my FOB. Meaning I would press the unlock button on my car and it wouldn't lock. When I unlock the lock manually with the key and open the door, the Lexus alarm would go off until I put the key in the ignition. I looked on the forum and it says it does this from time to time depending on the weather. It lasted for about 2-3 days and everything was normal again.... until now. Now the FOB hardly never works (batteries are new and working) and the only way to get them to work is when I have to unlock the door with key and right after I unlock the door (while the key is still in the door) I press the lock or unlock button and the key would do whatever feature I pressed and would presume to work from there, in or out the door. That’s until I don't use it for about 30 minutes or more then I have to repeat this process. When this started, another problem occurred, the doors would lock and unlock randomly inside the car while driving or sitting at idle in park. It actually sounds like the doors would lock or unlock but when you actually sit and watch to see if there is movement, there isn’t any. I know I have bad door lock actuators in 2 of my doors but even the doors with good working door lock actuators have the same behavior with no moment. It happens all at random and in different spurs. Sometimes it will try to lock/unlock itself really rapidly 5 times back to back, other times it will try to unlock/lock once, or twice. I have noticed that when the behavior is really bad, it gets triggered when I hit moderate bumps, or anything drops (not pot holes). Meaning for every bump, my doors will try to lock/unlock itself at least once. It does it so much sometimes it sounds like its burning something out. The weird part about it is I can drive the car sometimes and it wouldn't have this behavior. Sometimes it would change its behavior in the same day... Can anyone help before I start thinking about selling this car? Thanks!
  6. Hey thanks for your help - well I decided to take out the blower motor and test it first. I did this by attaching jumper cables to my battery and then adding two extension wires from the pos. and neg...then suspended the blower motor and touched the cables to the leads and VRROOOOM the motor ran fine... so I decided to dig deeper to take out the blower motor module. Now this sits back under the glove box on the left. To get to it you have to remove the glove box and the bottom decorative kick plate. Then you have to unsnap wires from their housings unscrew some and unhook others. Then you have to remove the plastic blower tube which lets warm are into the car - it is snapped together so it comes in two pieces, just remove the one piece. And there behind it you will see the blower module. About the size of a pack of cigarettes. Its held in place by one screw - undo that and then you can pull it out while unplugging the two wire harnesses to it. It actually sits in an opening and has a heat sink on it which adjusts the speed of the blower motor. It cost around $250.00, but I figured I saved about $500.00 on labor - When I replaced it and put everything back... RUNS GREAT!! .... Its amazing when you get under the dash and see how Lexus is made- it really is made quite well, each component is snapped and tied down. It just feels great to have heat again!!... I'm glad you fixed a problem that plaqued alot of 2nd Gen GS owners. What you did was actually the first thing I did as well BUT sadly, it didn't work for long. That part you removed reminded me of a old NES game but the size of a pack of cigs. Were you able to get all fan speeds back from this repair? When I originally had that part replaced, I only got back medium fan speed. My repair was a little more extensive unfortunately and Lexus had to get involved for the final fix up
  7. I had the same issue when I purchased my GS300. Actually, mine was not working at all. I go it diagnosed from lexus and they informed me it was the Blower motor control/Blower Motor. For what ever reason, this was listed as one part. I will get the part # for what they replaced and post it for you if you still need it
  8. Thats the same exact style as mine exact mine is black with the black trim. I love being one of the only people in my area with those chromed rims. Its very unique. **drooling on keyboard**

I'm out of Queens NY so if you are around the area, you can come pick it up or we can meet up. Thanks :SOLD:
  10. I locked myself in a cave and thought about it for 10 days an Sir SRK, your right. A Lexus is a lexus an mean't to be driven as a luxary car.. hmm. Now I have moved on into getting a toy car to fullfill my speed pleasures ;)
  11. Thats how some Toyota and Lexus Dealerships get you. They tell you everything else in the world is wrong except for the actual issue......thats until they run out of things to fix and then they will fix the problem you went in there for. But at that point, you damn near re-bought all the parts for your car. I too was raped by Lexus. Never will happen again
  12. Its going to depend on how back this issue is. You may only have about 3 choices. Touch Up paint, replacing the bumper, or just accepting it as is. Thats unless your a handy man. Then in this case, you can fiberglass the spot back (if its that bad) sand it, smooth it over, then spot paint it or paint the entire bumper over and it'll be good as new.
