  1. Got a call from the dealer today, they said Lexus called them and told them that they were not going to help with this issue. I have to pay 1,400 to get it fixed on my own. Any suggestions??? Wanted to add that I found a "knowlegealble" mechanic & said he knew wat the problem was, he said the HVAC was glogged, grabbed a old hanger, poked it a couple of times & water released & started dripping the way it was supposed to (when a/c on & car on). He charged me 50 bucks to do that & install a new cabin air filter. WHAT IS WRONG WITH THESE DEALERSHIPS!!!??? It took a while for my enterior to dry up, but it did & I no longer have this problem! FYI!!!!

  3. Congrats to you, I know the feeling on trying to save a buck then to have the sensors go a-wall. Had the same problem when I had the brakes replaced. After I changed I had to take back to the dealer to have them reset sensors, still cheaper then having dealer replace breaks, but I almost had a heart attack!
  4. I have the same problem with mines (06' GS430- 95kmi) ), the car has no history of having this problem, that being said, i took it to the dealer (mentioned the TSB mentioned on thread above), they said to call Corp. Lexus, gave me the info, put me on a loaner, im placing a claim through the info given, will reply once I get more info. I REALLY hope they can deal with it cause I have no warranty and the guy said if they dont help Im looking at 1.4k just on labor alone. He knew from assisting a previous customer with same issue, lucklly for him, he had warranty.
  5. Hi, Can you PLEASE tell me where to get the instructions on how to perform this bypass? thanks If you have an "06" GS, the instructions are half way down on page 1 of this thread. I have an 06 with Mark Levinson and Nav., and did this mod and it works as described. I don't know about the 07 difference. If you have an 07, I would read more of this thread. Ive done this through a local mom's and pop's audio/stereo shop, he was slow to want to do it, but after I told him I took rsponability if he broke anything, he did it, it took him 15 minutes AND IT WORKS!!!!
  6. I lifted the hood of the car to see if maybe there was a dead bird or something?!? and I noticed that there was smoke coming out of the battery area, I have taken it to lexus to see what they find.
  7. I've noticed a stank smell coming out of my a/c on a 06' gs430, I only smell t when it's stopped orcoming to a stop, can anyone please advise on what is going on and what I need to get this taken care of, thanks!
  8. Did you go in for a break caliper recall yet? Apparently there was too much gap in the rear calipers which resulted in excess screeching noise. I've had it in my '06 GS430 for over a year and after they did recall work it went away. They also installed new rears pads for free. I have not and was not made aware of one, I will look into this first AM tomorrow! Thanks so much I was told by the dealer that my recall had been done, there was nothing to calibrate and heed be more then happy to help if I could tell him what I needed him to do, I told him if he could just mke the noise go away, he said there was nothing he could do because it had been recalled already, brakes + rotors are lexus parts and new.... there was nothing he could really do? What do I do?

  10. Has anyone had this problem? They are all Lexus parts. This is a problem I have, the dealership could not help or know what the cause is, but they still charged me... and I still have the problem.
  11. I have bad news for you. My recently bought GS 430 seems to have the same problem. Seems like the dealer left that out in our coversations. Anyways, is seems that this is a common problem with the GS's from 06-08 possibly even 09! What's worse is that my door seems to have fallen a bit or slightly tilted? It now gets rubbed against the fender making a clicking noise everytime you open the door, where as to now, it has bugun to chip the paint. My car has 80k miles, depending on how many yours has, it could get worse if you don't get it checked, I think the door needs to be rethightend, but i'll wait and see what the dealer tell me. I'll repost later. I went to the dealer were I bought the car (Park Place Lexus) to get it checked, the service manager asked me what the problem was, I told him, he said he could check on it, but he would suggest I talk to the sales rep to see if they would cover the cost being that it was just bought ( I did not suggest the dealer do this, this was the asst. service managers idea). I went to my sales rep, he gave me the dear in head lights look and he told me I needed to go backto the service and tell them that they should fix it, I did, the servic`e guy then tells me I needed to go tell the sales rep he needs authorization.... AT THIS POINT IM GETTING FRUSTRATED! I go back to the sales rep I inform him that I just drove 40min. I was not satisfied with the service I was getting. He then said, I was trying to get the job done free and I should have warranty and warranty should fix it. At this point I am insulted and appauld, because I did not want anything done free nor was it my idea. I just wanted my car fixed, that is all, and if they could throw some good service to go along with it, more power to them. I got neither. After all of that, I think I was there 1hr 30min and nothing had gotten done. After I was leaving, the servive guy notices the door stop was broken, he said it should fix the problema little, though, he could do nothing about the air noice, I didnt care, just wanted it fix. After I asked for the part prce, it seemed to much, 175..00 for door stop + 200 for install, I called SewellLexus and theyhad it cheaper, 125.00 for door stop + 100 for install.... I AM NEVER GOING TO Park Place Lexus AGAIN!!!!! I had the work done at Sewell, the put me in a loaner and I was off. The most AWESOME thing was when I got my car back, the service guy at Sewell told me that the repair guy said that he noticed the door rubbing against the fender and he fixed it. All at no extra charge, they were just happy to service me!..... I heald back tears. I now have no problems with my car, I am soooo happy!!!!!! Park Place Lexus, I hope your business goes broke
  12. I would try Sewell Lexus in Dallas, better service and better part prices. I bought my GS 430 from Park Place and am no longer using their services, Sewell beats them in every category. I regret not buying my car from Sewell Lexus Dallas. Examples: Took my car for service (40min. drive) only to have service guy send me back to the sales rep for a minor issue, then the sales rep would send me back to the service guy... too much back and forth. Felt like they did not want to deal with me. All of that for a simple awenser for a part. Once we got down to the part, the part cost was 175.00 and they were charging 200.oo to install. It did not seem right to me. At that point I was exhausted of all the back and forth, I called my ex-sales rep at Sewell and he really took care of me. The same part at Sewell costed me 125.00 and charged me 100.00 to install. I am NEVER going back to Park Place Lexus.
  13. Is there a place in Dallas that can do this for me? I am afraid of pulling or breaking something. I live in Dallas and am 30 min away from anywhere in the metroplex. A refrence would be nice!

There should definetly be a recall on this issue because it definetly is a hazard when your door tilts and air is getting throught the seals of the door... someone could possibly end up ejected, hardly, but hey? it ccould happen, Lexus should just own up, these cars are to expensive for the buying customers, specially the ones that pay with 0 milage! And it's a common problem!

  16. Ok, I called the local dealer, they said they had the glass window in stock at that it would run me 850.00. with installation. I called a local auto glass co. named Sorpion Auto Glass (local) and was charged 250.00 for glass and installation. Ofcourse, I risked and went the cheap way. At the end of the day, the guy did a great job, window works prfect and there was no need for 100.00 dollar dignotic charge Dread to go the Ins. way cause it's lazy and expensive!... Amen.
  17. I had a vandal break my passanger window on a 06' GS 430, while I am glad that was all the damage that was done, now I have to deal with replacing it. Can I replace the window myself (buying the glass and taking it to mechanic) or is it best to go through the dealer? I heard that a dealer would probably be best due to an air bag being in the door? Ofcourse I am trying to save a buck while still getting good service, my mechanic can do both, but are their complications with replacing the glass window that an old school mechanic may not be aware of??? What is the best way to go about replacing it?
  18. I have a 06 GS 430 and I have these problems with mines as well, minor, but a pain! Bad door sill inside... Is there any way Lexus can accept responsability and recall to fix these problems????
  19. Oh gee, there must be at terrible flaw in my research methodology. Perhaps you can guide me back to the right path so I won't make the same mistake next time. Let's see, I researched for 3 months every conceivable source (i.e. the web, local dealers, private party sales.) and could not find this vehicle anywhere near my ultimate purchase price. Please direct me to the sources that render my deal as "average". As to the "Deal of the century" quote, that was obvious hyperbole and was meant in jest. Don't sweat it, these forums are famous for EVERYONE saying you got ripped off, and they paid $19k for an '08 GS 460 with 9k miles loaded blah blah. No one ever beats a 'forum' deal. : I got ripped off by a long shot, having paid $35,000 a year ago for my '06 gs 300 awd with 20k mint loaded. And yes, I know your frustration, I did a ton of research looked for about a year, finally found the used one I wanted in the color/equipment/mileage etc. and I could not find that car for under $40k until i found mine a giant lease return center. Auto Lenders in Toms' River NJ. that car was over $50k in the showroom in 2006. I thought $15k off two years later was a good deal at the time. Yet I came in here and apparently everyone else has a secret link to Lexus's for half price. It IS Annoying. I am a new (pre-owned) PROUD owner of a 06' GS 430 (fully loaded). It had 77k, bought for 24k. I am not even going to ask if I got a deal on here cause after reading some comments I could easily feel like I got ripped off, but my reality is, I could not even find a 06' GS 300 for 25k (all going for 26k and up), let alone a GS 430! So when I did come across one, I JUMPED at the chance to get it. GS 430 fully loaded w/ 77k miles for 24k. It was a deal to me, I know others will sigh, but I feel like a got a really good deal. Reason I feel it was cheap was because of mileage, but we all know Lexus breaks in at 150k miles or more. I was not sweating the miles one bit! Just glad I had my Lexus...finally!!!!.... AND A GS 430 AT THAT!!!! Only problems it came with was a burnt out sterring wheel motor (warranty), I can hear air through driver door (slightly) and squeaky brakes (at times)... Does not faze me one bit. If you have some advice for the minor problems, Please help by commenting.
