  1. Hey guys, So I joined this forum a few years ago and was really determined to do some work on my 93sc4 but unfortunately I never got the time too. However, finally the time has come! So far Ive added: - Custom made Short ram w/ 3inch cone -18in ROTA Subzero rims 225/45/18 in the next few weeks im adding -Supra lower control arms -Meagan or Blitz Nur Spec cats Now my question was related to suspension. I'm having a hard time deciding between shocks and struts or just doing a coil over kit. Theres about 1.5-1.75in of space from the fender to the tire and i want it sit pretty snug. In addition to that wheel spacers were also a thought while suspension work was in the mix. Long term project will be to add some long tube headers, supra fuel injectors and pulleys and do some cosmetic repair to the paint. Maybe even paint the rims with a time attack strip If you guys had any advice for me on some good parts or brands to look into thatd be awesome! Thanks
  2. Hey guys i just wanted to post this to show off my lights. They're 8000k Xenon HIDs and the installation was surprisingly easy. This job took about an hour and only cost me $43! :) Id love your feed back if you have any. I plan on d'lining my lenses on the housing, and painting the background with a black reflective gloss and then i was considering changing my daytime runners, which really aren't all that bright and buying a LED strip and creating my own makeshift angel eye. I'll be sure to post new pics when the entire job is complete. The first picture is my friend helping me out to take of the headlights. Second is the headlights out Third is my HID alone Last is the picture next to a friend of mine with a Taco running Hyper White lights. Look at the difference on the ground and around the cars
  3. 132 in my 93 sc4 driving down 75South in Georgia. no cops no traffic just open road. im not gonna lie, i was a little hesitant about going faster but maybe next i will push her to the limit :)
  4. the 92- 96 series of the car didn't come pre-grounded. what i did with mine was get a ground wire from auto zone, its like 3 bucks and you attach one side to the negative side of the battery and the other to something metal under the hood. i would mount it somewhere on the engine because most of the metal parts are coated with paint. this is usually a simple fix,and hopefully will fix your problem.
  5. okay man i'll give you my input from personal experience. i have a 93 Sc4 and i had problems like this at first. My first instinct was to put a ground strap in it becuase i figured that the starter couldnt be going bad because the car still started 99% of the time. After the car refused to start for several hours i decided i would research the problem. The starter on that car tends to have a lag, meaning it draws extra energy from the car to start, resulting in failed starts from time to time. The only solid recommendation i can give you is to take your car to auto zone and have them run a diagnostic on your starter, alternator and battery. Most likely the starter will be the problem and you will have to replace it. The part is roughly $125 and the price of installation varies unless you plan on doing it yourself. I urge you to stay away from the dealership because they charge anywher from $1000 to $2000 for this job. Hope this was of some help.
  6. I drive a 1993 Lexus SC400. Its a crimson red color. The car has 143k miles on it but i purchased it for $1. The previous owner didnt drive it and was giving it away. Everything under the hood has been replaced except for the four cam engine. There are new hoses, a new radiator, new intake soon to be replaced with an Injen short ram. The sound system has also been updated with a newer system instead of the old 93 one. Its the same system just newer. It has a new alternator, starter, induction system. Soon to be installed will be: Injen Short Ram Dual Deck Head Unit Taban or Magna Flo Exhausts Strut Tower Headers New Paint Job and Wood Grain kit
