  1. I have a 2000 Lexus GS300, and the other day the right side of the head units display is not illuminated when the lights come on. Basically the display works fine but the right side just does not light up when the lights come on so it looks the same whether its day or night. I thought it was a light bulb in the display that needs to be replaced but I have been informed it is a circuit board that needs to be replaced. The Radio place here in Maryland that Lexus has forwarded me to for this repair wants $45 to remove the radio, then they send it out for an estimate (about 5 days before I get a call back). They cannot even get me an estimate on this work, but it looks like at least 2 weeks of driving around without a radio. Has anybody had this problem? How much am I looking at for this repair? Am I better off leaving it alone or getting a used head unit? Any help is greatly appreciated.
  2. I have a 2000 Lexus GS300, and have had it since it was new. I have noticed that I can hear a squaky noise coming from the vent register that is located to the left of the steering wheel, all the way by the door. I have isolated it to the Climate Control System because if I turn off the CCS, the noise stops and only starts when I turn it back on. I have had it at the Lexus Dealer and they said they checked it out and my vent register was out of alignment and they adjusted it, but the noise is still there. Could it be the fan motor on my side? Anybody have any ideas?
  3. Help!!! I have a 2000 Lexus GS300 Platinum Series, the car has 64K, and I've had it since it was new. I had the pads replaced and rotors turned last Thanksgiving because I felt my breaks stared sticking. After that was done same problem, you push on the pedal and it sticks before releases. I had this done at a Lexus Dealer here in MD, and called them back they went ahead and replaced the Brake Fluid. Which I personally think should have been done when brake pads were replaced and rotors turned. Now pedal is better but it still sticks. Any suggestions? Master Cylinder? ABS?
