  1. I haven't put snow tires on my LS460, but over the years I've bought several sets of both Bridgestone Blizzzaks and Michelin Artic Aplins (I think they have a new name now) for my wife's RWD Infiniti's and Jaguar. Both tires performed equally well. I don't think you can go wrong with either brand.
  2. If its like the Verizon issue, its not the fault of Lexus. I have a Verizon phone and all I can do is make and receive calls. The reason is Verizon has disabled the ability to transfer info from the phone. From what I understand it is a selfish block on their part. I'd drop Verizon except that its the only cell service I can receive at my home.
  3. Ah ha, I stand corrected Steve! Well I haven't looked at those sites in the last couple years (since I bought my '07 LS). I agree, if you can get it for free no need to pay for it. Thanks for the reference.
  4. Steve, there is no way to "calculate" a holdback. It varies by manufacturer, by model and by time. Some models have no holdback. As I stated, you can get all the pricing info for free, but none of the sites I mentioned gives you any info on holdbacks (unless something changed in the last year or so). IMHO when you are spending some $80,000, saving $15 and not going in fully armed is the height of being penny wise and pound foolish. Well this will probably get me kicked out of here already!
  5. Didn't ebay disable any NEGATIVE feedback options a year or so ago? If all they allow a buyer to say is positive, the percentages would be pretty high alright. Whit Whit, eBay prevents a Seller from leaving a negative for a Buyer, however, a Buyer can still leave a negative for a Seller. The reason they did this is some Buyers didn't leave deserved negatives for Sellers because they were afraid of a retaliation negative from the Seller. So now the feedback system for Buyers is better. The problem is worse for Sellers because deadbeat or fraudulent Buyers can't get a negative comment from the Seller.
  6. Aaron, I would advise you to order a Consumer Reports write up on the vehicle. You will get all the retail and dealer costs on the car (which you can get from Edmunds, NADA and Kelley) and info on how to negoiate with the dealer (hint: you negoiate UP from the dealer cost, not DOWN from the MSRP). Another advantage to the CR reports over the free web sites is they tell you what the hold back is (if applicable).
  7. I bought a set of OEM wheels for my wife's Jag S-Type (to mount a set of snow tires). I bought from a seller with excellent feedback. I sent him a question first just to see how it was answered. The response was timely and professional. The wheels arrived in mint condition (exactly as described). I paid $199 for all 4 wheels, which was less than the cost of 1 wheel from the dealer! As long as you select an experienced seller with excellent feedback (at least 99.5% positive), I wouldnt hesitate to buy anything on eBay.
