  1. My car sometimes go on the track, and usually is driven with little traffic and on freeway. (Stage III Clutch) I have a 2JZ-GTE Greddy T78 turbo and 1000cc injectors. My average highway mpg is 24. (not much traffic) and on the track is 15mpg. (with turbos constantly in use)
  2. I have got AP racing 6 pot brakes in front, and new brake rotors and pads in the rear, and after adjusting my parking brake, it seems that my parking brake does not function on steep slopes anymore. Can anyone tell me where to get parking brake pads? (If they are even available for the Lexus SC300??) Can't seem to find it online, and the dealership around me charges an arm and a leg.
  3. Thank God you did this!! I was REALLY nervous about tearing into the headlights and trying to reseal them afterwards. Your headlights look AMAZING! I'm definitely going to polish as recommended, with the vinyl film to ensure long-term shine. Can I get the vinyl film from any auto store? Did you ever answer as to exactly which 3M Perfect -It product you used? Is it the rubbing compound, the wax or glass enhancer? SK--- let me re-phrase that, "if you dont want them to ever re-oxidize then clear them , my employee cleared his stang lights 2 years ago and he noticed no difference in lighting" GO DAWG--- the product line is Perfect-it 3 rubbing compound, sorry for the mix-up.. ALSO , i bought a wool disc for my 3.5 DA and DAMN!!!!! even BETTER!!! then i hit it with the cleaner wax again with the 3.5 DA with a foam pad..... i have 3 cars to do tmrw!!! 2 supras and one sc300! i gues we really are an all-in-one shop LOL! JP I had a foggy headlight for my 92 SC300 and my 93 Supra. Polish with compound, and with wax. Looks like new.. Never even take it off the car!!!
  4. My SC300 was leaking a little but my P/S was not working at low RPMs, I changed my connecters and hoses, and now, there is no more leak. I sprayed degreaser, cleaned everything, dry and nice. It had stayed that way for 2 weeks now. But my powersteering still does not work at low rpms. (need 2000 rpm to work) I checked my solenoid filter, but it seems to be working and they are new. (Came with my $500 hose) I have spent $600+ so far, and my leaking stopped by still no P/S at low speeds. Getting a remanufactured pump next. :(
  5. My power antenna does not go up and down fully anymore as the gears are bad. I got an aftermarket power antenna from ebay and it has 3 wires. Red, Black and Green. My stock Antenna has 5 wires, red, black, Green, blue and black/yellow. How do I connect so that the poer antenna can go up and down?
  6. Sorry to hear about your problem, i had something similar to this and was also told to replace a lot of parts. after taking it to a really good mechanic it turned out all i needed was a $5 replacement bolt. So make sure that you are definate about were the leak is coming from. Got a rebuild PS pump for $145, clean everything out first as the hoses may be leaking.
  7. Car might be "lowered" too much that tires are not flat, and it might be tilted normally. May be corrected with camber kit. You may just drive the car too hard. Drive gently and you may get more more miles on your tires. For rear, I have A032R P275/40ZR17 in the rear, and I have negative camber 1 degrees and my tires last about 5~8k in the summer. I use TEIN RA. with a 1.8" drop in the rear. (That's wht I switch to 17")
  8. I have a 1992 SC300 with a Supra 2JZ GTE swap. (With 6 Speed Getrag) (Stock no other mods) I have just done up the exterior and engine, and I'm planning to get the car problem free before I do more work. I have recently got hoses for the power steering in, and tried to get it to work. (Was kinda working but leaking) All the hoses are brand new, and they are installed properly. (I think) There is no sound or leaks from the power steering, but it does not seem to work well. I have no power steering if my RPM is low, and when I rev the car up to 4000 rpm, I can feel the power steering. Does anyone know if my pump is bad or the vacuum valve problem and how to diagnose it? Thanks
  9. The R12 connectors are leaking. After swapping in the R134 connectors the leaking stopped. He also tried to get most of the oil out too. My Compressor is not working now. should I get a new compressor? Anything else I should get to replace my AC? Robin
  10. I have a 1991 Lexus LS 400 that I would like to convert to r134a, but I have a bit of an issue. I had a mechanic add 134a after vacuuming the system. No other parts were changed except adding some fittings to the valves of the high and low lines. The compressor started making a noise within a couple minutes after adding the 134a, but the A/C was cool. I drove the car the next day with the AC on and the A/C started blowing hot after about 1 hour. The A/C light on the dash now flashes slowly if I try to turn it on, but the compressor never kicks in. I would like to convert the system, but need to know what to do from this point. Do I just need to change the drier and evacuate the system and recharge? Or is my compressor dead? Pls advice Thanks
  11. :cries: I have a friend who owns a 92 LS400 and needs a new a/c compressor. Where should he buy from? Any good places to get a used / new one online for a decent price? email me privately if you aree selling yours and share the links on this thread. Robin god@pulsarproject.org.
  12. Damn, my recent repairs cost me $2k at the dealership.. Maybe I'll just keep it as my second car.
  13. I have a '91 LS400 and I'm looking for a front grill without the Lexus logo. Does anyone know where to get and how much? Robin
  14. 180k miles on my '91 LS400 Dealer maintained, no major repairs encountered after the the 90k expensive tune up (Timing belt etc).. Neighbour has a '93 LS400 with 344k miles.. Climate control LCD not working only, and car has slight clicking sound. LS400 are reliable :D
  15. www.viptuning.com Junction produce..
  16. Hi, I'm getting a new LS430 and probably parting with my old trusty '91 LS400. It was maintained by the dealership, and I just got new lower control arms, wire harness, MAF, and a full tune up. I was wondering what is a fair price for an '91 LS400 with 180k miles that is well maintained and a new paint job? Robin my lexus
