  1. Steve- I've searched up and down XMfan, Prius boards, Lexus boards, Toyota boards and haven't found anyone that has used the LS/Solara/Prius kit in the ES and reported on it. My Lexus dealer will sell me the LS kit ($500) but won't attempt to install it. They tell me it won't work. When asked about the Solara kit, the Lexus cust. service dept. (800#) says they are not familiar with Toyota products. Toyota dealer says unfamiliar with Lexus products Please don't take offense, because you are a much appreciated resource and a terrific help but how did you come by the info you have because I can't find it anywhere? I'd like to at least confirm someone has successfully added the kit before I jump in. Thanks, Jeff
  2. Wow! Thanks for the fast reply. Couldn't agree more about the cost savings. Your Sirius install looks terrific and is entirely responsible for me even looking into Sirius in the first place, so thanks again. Did you ever get the direct FM modulator installed and has it made a difference? Happy with the hardware you chose? Do you know if I can use the same hardware having a different model year? I trust your answers more than I would at an installer. Thanks, Jeff
  3. SWES03- I really would like to get satellite installed on my '04 ES. The idea that my '04 is XM compatible is preventing me from getting the Sirius service. Having the XM service compatible with my NAV is just way too attractive. That being said, you wouldn't know the ES is compatible from calling the Lexus or Toyota dealers and if I have to do an install, I'm getting the Sirius. So I have 2 questions: 1. If you had the '04 ES, would you have gone with the XM? 2. How do I convince a Lexus dealer to do the XM install with the "LS430" kit? Thanks. Jeff
  4. I ordered assorted towels, applicators, etc. Polish- P21S paintwork cleansing lotion Wax- NXT tech wax Interior- 1Z cockpit cleaner If you have any suggestions they'd be greatly appreciated. I'd rather hear I wasted $15 on the wrong polish than waste my time. After reading many of the posts here, these seemed like a safe place to start. I was hoping to find a wax that would last a while and the NXT seems to have mixed reviews. I'll try it out and see how it goes. I'm hoping the gray color on my car will be relatively easy to keep up. If it's helpful, my paint is in new condition and I will be doing all the work by hand. Thanks.
  5. SW03ES- Thanks to you and some of the other posters I just placed my order from lexuscarcare. I just wasn't sure how soon I needed to get the wax/polish done. I did get the Sport Design and would be more than happy to post pics. Just post them in the Gallery? Thanks.
  6. TOGWT- Thank you for the response. I have no idea whether RapGard or Cosmoline were used in trasporting the car. Is it safe to clean for both? Also, just to be sure I'm following you, wax/polish ASAP because the paint is cured but the car does not come from the factory with any sort of protectant. Thanks.
  7. I couldn't find this topic through a search so please point me in the right direction if it has been previously addressed. My first new car, ES 330, Thunder Cloud Gray, and I don't know how soon I have to wax the car. Does it come from the factory with a protective layer of some sort? Is there a certain amount of time I should wait? Thank you for the help.
