  1. Welcome & congrats on the new Lexus. You will find lots of helpful comments here. I found this site just 3 months ago and visit it 4+ times a day (kind of addicted to it) Enjoy your new too you Lexus! B) I'm sure someone will know where the paint code is and will respond in the next day or so.
  2. slate67, I think what skperformance was trying to say is that it would be better to have the locks from the dealer. One reason it that they fit just right on original wheels. I would not worry to much about a little rust on the locks themself, especially if it just wipes off so easy. You must be in a hight humidity area. I live in the desert and I don't think I could have rust if I tried.
  3. Wellcome to a great website! :D You will find all the help you wanted here. With the questions you have, you may want to look in the Buy & Sell area and ask the same questions there.
  4. Thanks Steve, I'll give #16 a try. Does PwC meen that I should do another layer of Polish w/Carnuba? Then use the EX Sealer w/Carnuba (how many layers?) and then top it off with #16. Wife's van is "Desert Sand" '04 Sienna Limited, would the #16 work good on this also or would you recommend another product? Thank you for all your comments. When is the wedding?!? B) I've been married 8 years.
  5. Hey bossman, you read my mind. I used to be the guy in the truck when our shop had a car with similar problem. Just me and my flash light :( . If the crack is small enough I would use some silicone, if it's larger might use some body filler. If it's in a highly visable area I'd have a body shop take care of it and paint to match. Let us all know what you decide to do B) .
  6. I'll take more pics. close up, maybe you will be able to see the color then. B)
  7. Does anyone know where to get these clear marker lenses?
  8. Lexusfreak, I went and checked out www.toyotanation.com Mostly performace stuff and not much about regular stuff
  9. Hi Steve, I did 2 coats of 1Z paint polish, 2 coats of Poorboy EX polish w/ carnueba (?spelling). I have not had a chance to do the the EX sealer yet. Not sure what Meguiar's products I'm going to use. I am open to any suggestions you may have for a light color like mine. BTW it's a light green, not silver. I posted pics in the LS gallery, page 46 I think.
  10. chips229, I'd like to see a closer pic of your wheels. They look good but can't really tell what they look like. Thanks
  11. RedRocket, I'm 90% sure that your car will have the low brake pad worning sensor. Check your right side brakes and see if there are wires that come down to the brake pads. ;)
  12. Hey Lew: I'm going to be trying new products next time I do my car. I bought "Poorboy" products and I'm not 100% satisfied with them. I'm thinking of using Meguiar's next time.
  13. My thought for the day here at "As the Lexus Turns". "Opinions are like !Removed! holes, eveyone has one and none are the same" hope I don't get into trouble :(
  14. Hey Greg, make sure to take before and after pics of the results. Sounds like a great combo B)
  15. Not my taste, but they look good. Love the look of the tires! B)
  16. I went to "www.toyotaownersclub.com" and found out that it's a UK site. Is there a USA site like it that anyone knows about?
  17. Yes, replace brakes BEFORE the light comes on. The light comes on when ther is very little time before you are metal to metal. Change the pads before the sensor makes contact with the rotor, it saves you $$. B)
  18. In my '97 LS owners manual it shows that if a light comes on that looks like and "O" with some dashes around it, than your brake pads are worn . They call it a "Brake Pad Wear Limit Warning Light." I know on my car there are 2 sensors both on the right side brakes (one front one rear). You don't want to let your brakes get that worn down, the sensors are about $70-80 each and must be replaced if the light comes on.
  19. So sad to see Jim go Just think if everytime someone disagreed with another member that person left this forum. There wouldn't be anyone left. Opinions are like certain body parts, everyone has one.
  20. Hey Bob: Thanks for the info. I'm coming up on 4.5 years of owning my car. So, even if it was covered I'd be out of luck <_< Mark
  21. Hi Bob: I could be wrong and probably am. For some reason I thought it was 5 yrs. Mark
  22. I'm a little disappointed to hear of suspension parts; at only 79,000 miles? Was your car not a cpo? that should be covered if it is, unless it's considered normal wear, which it shouldn't be! Bob Hi Bob, yes it was a "CPO" but that warranty is only good for 5 years from the "Original Date of Purchase." I figure at almost 80,000 miles they are worn out. If it was an American car I would have done struts 50,000 miles ago. :D
  23. Just replaced all of my emblems! What a major differance! Check the picture and see. B)
  24. From my calculations, it's right around 244 cubic inches
  25. I would ask steve in the detailing area about this. I know for cleaning he uses woolite and water at a 5:1 ratio (5 parts water 1 part woolite). I'm going to use it this comming weekend. Just a thought, should'nt this have been posted in the detailing area?
