  1. Hi Smoothride, IMO I would have the dealer take care of the 60k service, if it has not been done to you one you buy. As far as the struts are concerned, if you want it a little bit stiffer than the factory go with KYB's. Let us know what you buy and post some pics of it. B)
  2. Used to have an '02 Sequoia and now she has the '04 Sienna. I had a hard time with the Sequoia and now with the Sienna. The windows dry up fast and leave water spots. Part of the reason is our weather, it does not get under 80 even at 5 am. But I don't have the same problem with my LS400. I'm thinking of buying the PC7424, found it for $119. What other pads would you recommend and where would I get them? P.S. Some hit my left front while it was parked out in front of my house. I'm so mad I could spit bullets :chairshot: $1,300 of damage, the owner has insurance but the driver did not have a lic. and did not speak english(not from this country).
  3. IMO, you would be lucky to get $1,500 off the MSRP. I would be interested to hear what you end up with.
  4. Sorry, I know this is not related to the subject. Steve, I've noticed that newer Toyota glass gets hard water stains very easy. Almost every time I wash the wife's '04 sienna I get water spots on atleast one window if not all. What the can I use to stop this
  5. Steve got it right ;) I would love to get into a '01 or '02 LS430. B)
  6. ibejack2, how deep are your pockets? I might be interested in selling.
  7. I guess I'm turning into a car wash nut I could not imagine letting anyone else touch my car. I'm okay with the "Touchless" thing once a year or so.
  8. Yes, warped rotors! Not sure if Lexus will warranty it. Depending upon the mileage, you may want to repalce the rotors. IMO
  9. Great car, Wellcome to the LOC (Lexus Owners Club). You will get lots of comments and help here. Great group of people, with a world of knowledge. Sounds like the people drove it quite a bit.
  10. First picture is a big time fake, you can see in the reply from 93LSOwner that the trees are in the exact same place as the first picture. Still cool B)
  11. flanker271, IMO very vulerable. It's like playing baseball and not wearing a cup.
  12. coolwater, who said that it was bad for your health? As for the water, let it flow! :D I live where we run the A/C all day, every day for about 3-4 months. It's 110 today and I would not be without my a/c. B)
  13. Totally agree with skperformance! Another thought is 2 bucks, one with just water and the other for your soap. After dipping in the soap and cleaning a section, dip it in the clean water first, then the soap. B)
  14. The cover that you are missing is around $120 at the dealership, or much less at a wrecking yard. I have a '97 LS and plan on chaning mine out. Where it covers the oil filter has broken off and I would like to keep it in perfect shape. IMO, I think it is a needed part for protection. To change the oil filter you have to remove 2 or 3 bolts and bend the cover out of the way. BTW, I went and test drove a 01 LS430. Nice car, had bad tires, great power!
  15. Are you going to replace them with OEM or aftermarket? If you are going with aftermarket, let us know if there is any change in the ride quality
  16. I've heard that the '06 is going to be a new style & have a lager engine 4.5 - 4.7. Anyone else heard this? 2005 Lexus LS 450 Lexus is readying an all-new flagship. Our spies have seen a computer-generated rendering they say is very close to what we'll see in showrooms in late 2004. The new model will likely be powered by a 4.6-liter V8 that's an updated version of the current 4.3-liter and is said to make close to 360 hp. It will be paired to an all-new 6-speed automatic but still drive the rear wheels. Rumors are swirling that the new LS will, for the first time, have a larger optional engine--possibly an all-new V12 producing well over 400 hp. Other sources hint the optional engine will be a 5.5-liter V8 worth about 400 hp. You can expect a sport package with a semiactive suspension system and 19-in. tires to be on the options list.
  17. Wellcome to LOC texxclark! As for the tint, I have 35 on mine. IMO going any darker makes it harder to see out and takes away of the luxury look. Let us know what you do and post a picture when your done. Mark
  18. monarch, I totally agree with the idea of using a Toyota filter and doing oil changes every 3,000 (or so). IMO there is no need to spend big bucks for synthetic. Mark
  19. Here are the two ladies that rule my house. 2 1/2 year old daughter & 5 year old miniature schnauzer.
  20. sw20_og, VERY NICE! I would love to have my Lexus look like that. I'm in the process of detailing my LS 400. It takes me a few weeks, I just don't have the time to do it all at once. I'll post my pics after I'm all done. I plan on using Meg. #16 as the topper on mine. B)
  21. wucantstop, It threaded on like a nut. It will just spin off. Now if you are talking about the piece that is on top of the antenna, it does not come off. :cries: Please post some pics of the painted emblems.
  22. Lexdiamonds, I know that banks will do a 5.5 yr loan on used cars and I think that they will do a 6 yr., not sure. When I did my 5.5 yr loan, the loan amount could not be more than 80% of the value. Let us know what you find. B)
  23. npcomplete, I have a Interstate in my LS. I realy don't think it matter much, as long as you stick with a major brand. I would recommend getting the most "CCA" (cold cranking amps) that you can (mine has 850cca). This is usually the more exspensive one, and will have the longest warranty period. Let us know what you decied to go with.
  24. nice wheels chip229, what size are they? B)
