  1. I have the IS250 wiring diagrams. What, specifically, do you need?
  2. I self-installed both the Vaistech VML and the SL2xmt (http://www.vaistech.com) in my '06 IS250 AWD w/Gen 5 Nav but no ML and they both work through the steering wheel controls.
  3. I hope to get it installed next weekend. I'll post installation pictures and screen shots when I finish. I got the the Vais Tech VML and the SL2xmt with CNP 2000 XM satellite radio tuner connected. They both work as advertised with no conflicts. A Car Toys employee had told me that they wouldn't both work in the same car because the network would find only the first one in the chain. That didn't sound right to me and Michael at Vais Tech said the would both work OK. I chose to believe the manufacturer and he was right. I installed them myself according to the furnished installation directions and everything worked perfectly. Vais Tech should send out information to their resellers to educate them. If I had listened to Car Toys, Vais Tech would have lost a sale. If anybody has specific questions that I might be able to answer, I'd be happy to. Right now the VML and SL2xmt hardware is lying on the floor and I'd like to find a good place to mount it. I plan to use a USB extension cord and mount that in the console box. Where is there room that would be a good place to mount the other hardware? Thanks for any suggestions.

  5. Thanks. I ordered the VML and the SL2xmt with CNP 2000 XM satellite radio tuner today. I plan to install them myself. Michael at Vais Technology assured me that they will coexist peacefully with integration into the factory radio/nav system and I will still have the AUX INPUT in the console. Thanks for the tip.
  6. OUTSTANDING! Thanks! This is exactly what I wanted to see. Thanks for the URL. You are missing the parts to the jack??? Better get those right away. I have the jack and the handle but not the lug wrench or key for the wheel locks. In the back of the Owners Manual Supplement there is a 5 or 6 digit key number. I took this to be for the ignition key but it might be for the wheel lock key. Does anybody know?

  8. I have no idea what they cost from Lexus. I also don't know what tools are included. What I want is the Lexus branded tool kit with all the tools that originally came with my 2006 IS250 AWD w/ Nav. If this is what you have and will post a photo of it showing tools, Etc. I will check w/Lexus for the cost of a new one and then make you an offer. Thanks.
  9. Tom, my 2006 IS250 AWD w/ Nav and in-dash CD changer is satellite radio ready. I'd like to get a XM satellite radio installed (integrated to work with the radio's built-in controls). I'm also thinking about getting a MultiMediaLinQ (http://multimedialinq.com) installed. It would also be integrated and work with the radio's built-in controls. Would these two aftermarket devices peacefully coexist? I'm also interested in watching DVDs on the Nav screen. My 6 CD changer won't play DVDs and the map DVD player is hidden behind a faceplate that requires tools to remove. Is it possible to watch DVDs with this system? Thanks.
  10. Please excuse my ignorance. My 2006 IS250 AWD w/ Nav has an in-dash 6 CD changer and the map DVD player which is hidden behind a face plate. It is not readily accessible. The faceplate has to be removed with tools to change out the map DVD (which I had my dealer do recently - cost $318 + tax!). The CD changer doesn't play DVD's. Can you watch DVD's with this system? Thanks.
  11. When I bought my 2006 IS250 AWD used (pre-owned, if you prefer), the Lexus took kit was missing from the trunk. Is there a way to get one other than ordering a new one from my Lexus dealer? Thanks.
  12. Hello, My 2006 IS250 AWD has a 12v outlet and Aux In jack but no USB for recharging USB devices. 12v socket to USB adapters are too long and will not fit in the space available. I'm thinking about getting a 12v/115 vac converter and a 115 vac to USB adapter but this seems like not the best way to do this. What are others doing for USB support? Thanks.
  13. Hello, I'm a new owner of a 2006 IS250 AWD. I broke the fresh air/recirculate door while changing the cabin air filter. I now know that the manual says to open the door first by switching to recirculate mode but I didn't know it then. Anyway, now that it's broken, how can I get access to fix it. Can I just remove the glove box or is it necessary to remove more of the dash? Has anybody actually done this repair? Thanks.
  14. Hello, I am a new club member and also have a "satellite radio ready" 2006 IS250. I want to have a satellite radio installed in it. The dealer says it costs $750. Car Toys says it costs $275 for the hardware plus $225 for installation. I guess I'd better check to make sure it uses a shark fin and not an after-market bump. Any info and experience you have would be appreciated. Thanks.
  15. Thanks for the tip. Unfortunately, it came too late. I already broke (I think) the fresh air door. Now that the fresh air door is broken, what can be done to fix it? If the door is closed, is that the fresh air or the recirculate position? Thanks again. JohnSr
  16. Hello, I just bought my first Lexus, a 2006 IS250 AWD, 35k miles. Awesome car! I would like to do some minor maintenance myself. What is a good source for parts like engine air filters, AC air filters, Etc. Also, where can I get a Factory Service Manual? I know all these things are available from a dealer but that is about 50 miles away. Are there third party sources? Thanks.
