  1. hi guys just a simple questions i was going to bring my 93 es300 to my good friends house to get my tranny fluid drained and filled.i know a flush is risky at this point i already had a post that i was told that.so my question is what atf does everyone recommend??ive heard mobil 1 synthetic, but i just want to make sure anyone have any tips from when they changed there tranny fluid.any and all info and advice is much appreciated thanxx

  2. ok ive been wanting to do this for a while now.i seen tuan's black es300 with it (toyota windom look)and thought it looked amazing so i went to autozone and bought a pack of the 1/8 inch chrome modling trim and went to work.i did the front bumper and rear bumper but didnt have enough to do the grille which i will do eventually.just would like to share here are the pics and also purchased a mirror trim set off ebay just a little accent to the mirrors.since my car is black i think the chrome looks good just dont want to over-do it.take a look all opinions are welcomed

  3. Hi everyone i just have a simple diy question.im thinking of tinting my windows on my 93 es300.now i have a problem my rear passenger window does not go down the previous owner put some type of pipe inside the door panel to hold it up.im guessing its probally off track.thats another job i need to do is get a regulator.but for right now i want to tint my windows.my question is what are the steps to taking off the door panel on our cars??i had a 93 toyota camry and i used to take the door panels off very easily in about 30 seconds.i just need to know what bolts and clips i need to remove to get my door panel off easily and without damaging my baby.please let me know i appreciate the help

  4. juat to add my experience.i bought my 93 es300 with 17 inch chrome aftermarket wheels on it with pirelli low profile tires on it.and i hated the ride it was very stiff and pulled my wheel sometimes.after i found the factory wheels for a 97-01 es300 i changed them immediately and the ride is much much better.also my car runs a little quicker and handles a whole lot better.i love the look of aftermarket chrome rims on my baby(thats the new york city boy in me) but i dont want to damage my car by puting big heavy rims on her.

  5. hi guys just wanted to let you know its still doing the same thing.i tried the trick with the air pokcet that i was told with taking the radiator cap off and letting the air pocket come out.im thinking the gauge may be busted cause the car will run all the way to the red hot for about 30-45 seconds and then go right back down to normal(middle) rather quickly.and my mother states shes adds antifreeze pretty frequently.i drove the car recently to witness this overheating and the car drove fine no abnormal condition that i noticed.still feels like it has power.if anyone has any other suggestions please help with any info id really appreciate it thank you

  6. hi troops i got another simple question for the experts here.i recently bought a climate control for my 93 es300 from the junkyard.cost me 7 bucks,my old one the lcd was all burnt out and i couldnt read anything from the right side.so i figured id take a shot.the one i bought actually is a newer one with the outside temprature button on it (which i love).the only problem is i believe there is 3 bulbs that light up the lcd at night and only one is lit.i can only read the right side at night.is there a way to just but new bulbs and install them and itll all light up?or is this a bigger problem and i should just live with it.any and all help is much appreciated thanx

  7. hi i need rear struts for my 93 es300.i have alocal junkyardnearby that charge around $12 per strut but i have to remove them myself.my question is how difficult is this??i think the strut mount screws are on the inside of the car over the rear seats.i know how to remove the rear seats.i take them out remove all the bolts from the strut mounts then what how many other screws are there?from around the wheel and axles on the rear ends.if its not too difficult i will do this to save some money.to install them i might just have a good friend whos a mechanic do it.any and all help is greatly appreciated.

  8. ok the mechanic met my up with mother and brought some type of cool laser pointer that when pointed at a part can tell you the temparture its running at.he pointed it at the thermostat and the water pump and to a hose or 2 and nothing was running hot or abnormally.could this be a head gasket problem??i really hope not.this car has never been abused could that possibly be the problem??

  9. hi everyone i know this isnt a gm site but i need to help my mom out here.i have a 93 es300 and i love her.wish my mom had one too. but right now she has a 1993 oldsmobile cutlass supreme coupe.3.1 liter v6 automatic.the car has around 102,000 miles on it.it always ran fairly cool the thermostat never really reached half.recently after the car warms up after driving about 15 minutes.its been going higher at half and even going all the way to hot.and then check gauges light comes on.then goes back down now i told my mom bring the car in immediately and have it checked first.first time the guy changed her radiator cap and said her cap wasnt holding any pressure so he changed it and it didnt help anything.then the water pump was changed as well as the thermostat just for the heck of it.and its still doing the same thing.the car doesnt smoke or steam come out of anywhere.can it possibly be the darn thermstat gauge on the cluster is busted??can it be that simple.if any of you experts can help and give your advice id love to hear it and i would appreciate it greatly.

i know this isnt a forum for oldsmobile and im sorry but i know you guys are really intelligent with cars.once i get some advice i will delete this post.thank you

  10. ok lexucan sounds good thanxx again i talked to the mechanic who fixes my mothers car.she has a 94 olds cutlass supreme coupe with 102,000 miles on it.her car was overheating,he changed her thermostat and replaced her water pump for $118.00 parts and labor.so i asked him what he would charge me for a drain and refill of my atf for my es300 he said something about since your dropping the pan you might as well change the filter as well.i thought a drain was just a bolt that gets opened and the fluid gets drained?was he thinking a full flush? which i do not want.he was going to call me back when he prices everything i told him i would purchase the atf fluid, just so im 100% sure its the right fluid

  11. hi i searched around to try to find what i need but couldnt.i have a 1993 lexus es300 i bought about 3 months ago and i took my tranny dipstick out and it smells a little burnt so im thinking to have my tranny fluid drained and filled.i was thinking of a tranny flush but ive read some horror stories on here about it did more damage then good.so im thinking of taking it to local mechanic and do a simple tranny drain and fill.now not sure if he knows what fluid to use and ive seen some type of toyota atf fluid in some other threads.i want to purchase the correct fluid and give it to them and have him fill it with that fluid to make sure hes using the right one and the job is done right.now does anyone have a picture or exact name of this fluid that i need for my 93 es300 automatic please help thank you
