Let Me See Your Tint!

For some reason I am having trouble attaching pictures here. Can have them emailed if you'd like? -
Bubbling On Rim
LEXUS IS250 AWD replied to LEXUS IS250 AWD's topic in 07 - 13 Lexus IS250 / IS350 / IS-F
Have some minor scratches on my refurb rims now from lightly hitting curbs while parking. No bubbling (yet anyways). But I remember the dealer blaming the bubbling I had before on the fact that my rims were all slightly scratched all around the edges from the previous owners driving. Do all of you that have experienced this problem with bubbling also have scratches on the outer edges of your rims? Want to know if it is truly related -
Keep in mind that cranking up the send volume could also be the cause of this background/white noise. Try lowering it as well to see if there is an improvement. The only time I have an issue with callers hearing background noise now is when my windows or sunroof are open. So long as they are closed the call clarity is so clear they can't even tell i'm using the handsfree option. I went from a Moto Razr to a Samsung Instinct - both work very well with Lexus' handsfree.

With the colder weather now here I happen to notice that when I hit the rear defogger button most of the rear windshield clears up except for the top 2-3 lines. I brought this to my local dealer's attention and they advised that the top few lines are the imbedded radio antenna and they are not meant to defog the windshield. But he didn't seem too sure so I called another dealer and as usual he told me to bring the car in so they can take a look at it. Anyone know for sure?

2007 Is250 Awd System
LEXUS IS250 AWD replied to Melnod's topic in 07 - 13 Lexus IS250 / IS350 / IS-F
Tell me about it, I truly wanted an IS350 but that would be asking for trouble in the winter. Too bad they only make it in RWD -

Happen to notice you live in the Toronto area as well. Etobicoke here. Believe me, just wait for the first snow fall and you will see your AWD in action. My car goes over snow like an SUV B) I don't think I could ever drive a 2-wheel drive vehicle again. Used to have so much trouble w/my old Celica GTS (front wheel), but this past winter was just great w/the AWD IS250. Snow piled parking spots were no match for this vehicle. Just wait & see. & No I do not use snow tires, just the stock all season tires. -
Thankfully my front brake pads still had 30% of life left in 'em when I got 'em changed for free. But once these new ones are done i'm definately gonna go back to using the original pads (if I can still get my hands on them?), the responsiveness was great compared to these

Ventilation System
LEXUS IS250 AWD replied to LEXUS IS250 AWD's topic in 07 - 13 Lexus IS250 / IS350 / IS-F
Called 2 dealers, they think it's the cabin filter causing this -
Has anyone noticed an odour coming from the vents? When I close the vents & turn off the fan I noticed that the smell goes away. But even with the vents open & the fan off I can still smell something. Any idea what could be causing this? Problem is, it's not consistantly there & never happens when i'm at the dealer.

Etc Power Mode Eval
LEXUS IS250 AWD replied to remat457's topic in 07 - 13 Lexus IS250 / IS350 / IS-F
From what I understood using the ECT Power mode keeps the transmission in the lower gears for a longer period of time for better performance, sudden braking & acceleration. I personally love it, & I only have a 250. Only problem is my wife then telling me to 'slow down!' when it's active :D -
2006 Is350 Headlight Problem

Looks like the dealer putting in that new lightbulb solved the problem, no issues since -
2006 Is350 Headlight Problem
LEXUS IS250 AWD replied to LexusBaller300's topic in 07 - 13 Lexus IS250 / IS350 / IS-F
Left my car at the dealer today to get the a/c fixed, told them to check on the driver's side front headlight as well. They claim to have caught the light go out while the car was in their posession and changed the lightbulb - find it hard to believe that it happened while the car was with them as this issue does not occur so frequently. Anyways let's see if them putting in a new bulb resolves the issue.. -
07 Is250 Sunroof Won't Close
LEXUS IS250 AWD replied to NurseLexus's topic in 07 - 13 Lexus IS250 / IS350 / IS-F
One other thing they fixed for me at the dealer this past Wednesday... I always had an issue with my moonroof not closing all the way. It would only go as far as the equivalent of the 1 or 2 setting, then just stop. Really frustrating, especially when I feared rain was on its way. (I think there may already be a post regarding this issue?) Anyway the dealer advised that the moonroof just needed to be re-initialized, now it works like a charm -
My rotors are in good shape so I only had the pads replaced. I would be really happy if braking performance improves after a while. My old brake pads, they were awesome, true Lexus performance

2006 Is350 Headlight Problem
LEXUS IS250 AWD replied to LexusBaller300's topic in 07 - 13 Lexus IS250 / IS350 / IS-F
Is it just me or does this only happen while the light switch is in 'auto' mode. Every time I turn the lights on manually I don't recall ever having this problem. Dealer offered for me to leave the car over night so they could test the prob. Not sure if it's worthwhile as it only happens once or twice a month & i'm sure it won't happen when I waste my time leaving it there over night. Frustrating -
Okay I had my brake pads changed yesterday to these replacement ones that don't give off as much brake dust. I TOTALLY NOTICE A DIFFERENCE IN BRAKING PERFORMANCE. Mind you, I shouldn't complain since I only had about 20% life left in my old pads. But once these new pads wear out I am definately going back to the original pads, the braking power on those was awesome. Now I have to drop more weight on the pedal to get the same response

Check Air Conditioning
LEXUS IS250 AWD replied to LEXUS IS250 AWD's topic in 07 - 13 Lexus IS250 / IS350 / IS-F
Okay so the dealer advised that my condensor died. They are ordering the part & will likely have it replaced early next week. Thank G*d i've still got my bumper to bumper warranty :-) Now I just have to sweat it out for a few more days.. Just my luck, the weather starts getting warmer & my a/c breaks down -
A Few Issues
LEXUS IS250 AWD replied to LEXUS IS250 AWD's topic in 07 - 13 Lexus IS250 / IS350 / IS-F
Dude, you're in the exact same situation as me. My warranty is up this Nov.11 & I would love for this problem to be solved prior to. But it so rarely happens, once every other month or so. Mind you i've never had it happen while driving, it's usually just right after start up.. Dealer advised for me to leave the car w/them over night, they'd start it up in the morning & see what happens. But I just know there's no point, it ain't gonna happen when you want it to -
Another hot day yesterday, even though we haven't had much of a summer. While at a red light I fired up the a/c & noticed the engine start to rev up & down almost to a beat. Then I noticed the display showed 'check air conditioning'. I quickly turned off the a/c and the engine stopped revving that way. Then while driving I tried turning the a/c back on again and the engine started revving the same way but this time the engine shut off after about 5-10 seconds. I restarted the car without any trouble, got home w/o any issues so long as I kept my hands off the a/c. Friend seems to think i'm probably just out of the a/c fluid? Will bring it into the dealer Monday.

A Few Issues
LEXUS IS250 AWD replied to LEXUS IS250 AWD's topic in 07 - 13 Lexus IS250 / IS350 / IS-F
I'm totally guilty of not letting my car warm up before popping the gear into drive & taking off. So yes this may have something to do with the engine stalling. When I sense the engine revving too low I hit the gas & that prevents the engine from stalling, but if I just pop the gear into drive & don't touch the accelerator that's when the engine (sometimes) shuts off -
A Few Issues
LEXUS IS250 AWD replied to LEXUS IS250 AWD's topic in 07 - 13 Lexus IS250 / IS350 / IS-F
I'll try using my spare key fob & see if that solves the prob. Any idea on why my engine would shut off after start up like that? -
The odd time I noticed that when I start the car, pop the gear into drive and let the car roll w/o touching the accelerator the engine revs so low the engine shuts off. This has only happened 3-4 times in the 8 months I have owned the vehicle. Sometimes when I approach the car w/the key fob in my pocket & touch the driver's side inner handle the door does not unlock. It takes a few taps for it to react, & sometimes it doesn't at all. Then I actually have to manually unlock the doors w/the fob. Any ideas why these things are happening?

Cruise Control
LEXUS IS250 AWD replied to EnginePassion's topic in 07 - 13 Lexus IS250 / IS350 / IS-F
I agree. If it were smoother trying to maintain the set speed you would have a higher lag time before the odometer gets to where you want it to be. -

2006 Is350 Headlight Problem
LEXUS IS250 AWD replied to LexusBaller300's topic in 07 - 13 Lexus IS250 / IS350 / IS-F
Ugh, my driver's side headlight didn't go on last night. Of course I didn't notice until I got home at about 1:30am. Brought this issue to my dealer's attention, their only solution was to bring it in when it occurs. This is probably like the 4th time I caught the light not go on since I purchased the car (Nov/08). & My bumper to bumper warranty is finished this November. Hope I can catch this symptom happen again in time to bring it to the dealer's attention
