  1. sorry wade that is impossible. if the door wont open from inside or out, the back top of the door must go. do it so you dont break the upper window linner linner like I did pull just below it after unscrewing all the possible screws first from lower portion of the door. and yank at the top left. SORRY, I know it sucks, but if you want in...
  2. got my engine & ect ecu (computer) today. car runs perfect again!!!!! YEA!!!!! It has been a long HOT 2 weeks here in FLA. but shes blowing cold again and the car dont even stall a bit. Idleing right again and every thing. Still cant figure out this fog light thing out. I will though eventually.
  3. You can still do this without throwing out the NAK system. Rip the MP3 CD's onto iTunes in your computer, select a new playlist, then burn playlist as "Audio Files" instead of MP3. Worked perfect for me. Now I am just trying to figure out a way to actually hardwire a jack to the NAK system so I can use my iPod. there is a way to hard wire one here is a link on ebay where a guy did it and is selling it. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Lexus-Nakam...A1%7C240%3A1318
  4. this could be one or more of 11 different things,... have the codes checked. REALLY, 11 different things. and thats JUST electrical, a few more mechanical!
  5. so noby has encountered anything like this? it sounds almost unbelieveable dont it. the ac killing the car. through proccess of elimation i have determend the only thing that connects them is the ECU (main computer). on the 90 pin plug entering the ECU the fuel pump and the magnetic switch relay for ac is right beside each other, also the idle control switch is beside them as well. I have removed the magnetic switch relay from the system so the compressor doesent come on at all, HOT in FLA. howerver if the ac butten is pressed while driving the car dies on the spot. This is indicateing the compressor is not the problem and at that point i have by passed all other possibilites except the ECU. The idleing is still very screwy but the car is operational. I have ordered a new ECU from ebay for 90 bucks (which is a lot better than dealers $900) it should be here in a week or so. I guess I will have to limp around town till it gets here. I will update after install.
  6. 95 sc400 151000 miles, i drive the car alot, this just started last night. idleing jumps between 600 and 900 eradicaly. turned ac on seemed to stabilize. turned ac off on my way home to see if any change at high speed 80 mph. ran fine had the fresh air button pressed so air flows through. air was extremly cold without ac on. AC light started to blink on and off rapidly with nothing on but fresh air. i poked it and it stoped. Today its hot in FL. so turned ac on. car STALLED out! turned AC off started back up and ran fine. AC compressor is kicking on and off, on and off this is the reason for the idleing problem i believe however the reason for the compressor to do this is beyond me, any suggestions, and whats further puzzeling is when i turn ac on, car spitts and sutters eventually stalling out. Also I dont know if this is related or not but the pass. side fog light wont come on. bulb is good i tested at battery. just wont work when called for. this problem has existed for a couple months though. These problems are leading me to believe its electrical malfunction not mechanical. any and all ideas welcome! i just changed the plugs air filter oil and breaks a week ago, and am changing tranny fluid 1qt at a time, week by week. could i have screwed something up while doing this? check engine light does not come on
  7. i found the problem, back breaks worn to nub. I thought the noise was from front.... but ok now!
  8. the shims were there but the springs werent, would this cause it to squeal without breaking?
  9. this is a possibility, i drove it the last couple of days with the new pads on it and I have deffinataly been getting less gas mileage, with the thicker pads i guess more resistance. I mean its a noticable difference in mileage too. like 5mpg. along with the pads I also changed plugs and air filter i was expecting better mileage, but nooooooo. how do i fix, replace the caliper?
  10. some times my 95 sc400 drives quiet as can be, I hit the smallest of bumps like a reflector in the road and the noise begins loud squeal comeing from both front tires. When I brake it stops most of the time, till i hit another bump, ived changed front pads they were about 50% worn. Is there anything in the axle that needs greasing that would cause it. My boots are good with no apparent breaks.
  11. 95sc400nproud, There is an Sc300/400 workshop manual for free at this site. http://www.zshare.net/download/5185463529a5bf95/ OOOO wish I knew that long time ago!!!!
  12. its a 4087 page manuel that covers every thing from a-z, how-to info heaven for sc. I will resell for 10 bucks i paid $183, just figured I would try to get a bit of my cash back. Again sorry if this is the wrong section.
  13. sorry I posted the wrong pic, but I fixed it now, this is the correct lever below my middle finger, once you get to the assembly, locate the lever and pull it down. The door pops open like magic! As you can imagine I didnt drive the car much because of it. To be perfectly honest about it I was about to just break the darn thing and rig it to close with magnets, but could not fit the hammer into the door panel, so i tried a screwdriver and accedently hit the magic button, took the assembly out and found the spring missing, {you can planly see the spring in the link I provided above} and just in case anyone needs a PDF manuel to the sc400 I have one just email me, xlcair@hotmail.com I will assest if possible! Now my door works like butter!!!!!!
  14. I fixed it I fixed it, it turns out there is a magic release knob, if you can get to the door lock assembly the lever is right where my middle finger is. just move it straight down and the door pops open locked or not. Its a lock bypass. unfortunatly in order to get to the assemble you have to tear up the interior a little if the door wont open at all that is. but once your in just move the lever and ta-da. after eight months of messing with this thing its finally operating properly. O by the way the reason it broke in the first place is the spring poped off and the door lever would not come back up keeping the door lock from unlocking.
  15. Ived tried everything jiggling pounding forceing with a big screwdriver nothing works i guess I will have to resort to getting it with sand in the ky-jelly by a autobody shop. anybody know a good one in the miami area? just in case anyone wants a pictorial of the actuator heres a pretty helpful link http://soarercentral.com/sc-forum/messages/9739/53292.html its to a diffrent forum hope thats ok. I guess thats a no on the whole magic button senerio.
