I just got a back camera put in my 06 Gs300awd. They were able to connect it to my factory radio. I chose a plate camera because i didn't want them to drill any holes in my car and they used a NavTv TOY01 interface to make it work. All I do is tap on the disc button twice when I'm in reverse. It works just like a factory Camera. It's cheaper if you buy the parts yourself and have an experience professional installer that's familiar with the Gs put it in for you.
