  1. Make sure you don't have gloves or something over the sensor on top of dash. Wife did it once and she didn't know what happened
  2. i still wanna know if you actually tasted this.......... Yes! ! I'm 70 years old and have been around cars all my life and am not an idiot. I put a little on a screw driver and put it on my tongue. No big deal. Look at you hand lotions, shampoo's and a variety of other items and you will see that they contain some amount off ethylene glycol and most recently many products have switched to propylene. Thanks ,but I am fine.
  3. did u taste this? just use the oem toyota red/pink stuff its cheap If the Toyota stuff is red or pink, maybe that is what the car has in it. Still, what would be the harm to using propylene glycol?
  4. The owners manual from the recently purchased gs300 (03) said to use ethylene glycol only. The coolant in my car is a pinkish color and has no odor of ethylene however it does have an ethylene taste. The label on the propylene container says it meets all specs for protection and corrosion for all cars and metals,so what would be the harm , if any to use the low-tox propylene stuff?
  5. Owners manual calls for ethylene only, but what would be the harm with propylene glycol in a GS300 I6. Bought the car recently and I think it has propylene in it. It is a pinkish color and tastes like ethylene but does not have an odor. No, I didn't drink it,just a drop on my tongue and washed it off.
  6. Same for me... I had been trying to programm the thing, and it just wouldn't take the code. I must've spend 2 hours trying to do it. I deleted the codes, and then it took. THANKS! Ditto: HAD TO REMOVE PREV. CODES. MANUAL DOESN'T TELL YOU THAT.

  8. Recently bought a 2003 GS300 with 44k miles. Like new and well maintained by local previous owner. Car is tight and drives like new. Very quiet and responsive. New Goodyear Avenger tires are a bit noisy, but mostly on concrete. I was sold on the I6 configuration. Last car was a 960 volvo and still have a 328i conv. both I6 engines. Not having owned a Lexus before is there anything I need to be aware of or watch out for in maintaining the car? Any heads up would be appreciated. Thanks............. Richard
