  1. Just to add to this thread, I recently purchased a 2008 GS460. When I play Elton John's Goodbye Yellow Brick Road DVD-Audio, I find certain passages missing (they are present in my home theater). I did listen briefly to the first track of Steely Dan Gaucho DTS 5.1 (Babylon Sisters) and definitely heard the background vocals on the rear channel. I've ordered the DVD-Audio (newer release) and am anxious to hear how it is reproduced on the ML system. I will be speaking with my dealership on this matter and have already submitted an inquiry with Mark Levinson. I would anticipate that this should be resolved with a firmware upgrade, but it doesn't sound like this has been happening (according to what I'm reading in this thread). Instead, these issues may be addressed with subsequent hardware releases. I am so hoping the DVD-Audio issue can be resolved so I can enjoy the full range of my collection while on my daily commute to the office. Any other information from others on this matter would be appreciated. Thx - Mark
  2. Brian, I have a 2008 GS 460 and have experienced discrete when playing back Steely Dan Gaucho DTS 5.1. You can definitely hear the background vocals (those girls are great) in the rear channels. I have ordered the same title on DVD-A which should be an even better mix. I have a similar problem, maybe you can see if this happens on your system. Elton John's Goodbye Yellow Brick Road is missing audible tracks (guitar lead and synthensizer) between the 4 and 6 minute mark of Funeral for a Friend/Love Lies Bleeding. Also missing trombone in Sweet Painted Lady. I have sent an inquiry to Mark Levinson and will be speaking with my dealership re: fix and/or firmware upgrade. Other than that, you might want to verify DVD-A setting is set to surround sound (for media). But the ML system should pick this layer by default. Hope we can help each other out with this one . . . . . Mark
