  1. you just have to pop it out gently with some strength but don't force it, it's made of cardboard backing, and that may rip. the attachment is made by a couple of plastic pins attached to the gate from the back of the lined cardboard. hope that helps.
  2. I have also noticed that my vehicle shifts more than often on windy days. Sometimes, when I'm driving around 69mph, I feel like my vehicle w=could easily flip from the wind blowing the side of my car. however, I don't have an answer to this. I have never replaced my springs/suspensions, struts etc, and the car has about 90k on it, so I suspect that may be the cause for the car to move unsteadily in the wind.
  3. how often do should we do oil changes to the transmission, and transfer case/differential oil? As to whether the last two oils are the same, I'd like to know also. where would they be located? in the rear of the car?
  4. i say you check the battery and make sure its not worn. Sometimes, if the battery is beginning to die, the electrical components could start !Removed! around and working improperly. If you haven't changed the battey already, do that first, then make sure all fuses are good, and finally, proceed with the deed of removing the door panel, if all else fails.
  5. when i left my '99 RX300 in the garage for about 3 weeks with the battery unhooked over the winter, I also did a jump start on the car. However, my radio presets would be reset after I shut the car down, and sometimes my head lights would flicker when when I'm driving at night with the radio on. However, i found out that the problem came from my dying battery. So I suggest you take a look at the battery, since the stock battery life is about 5 years, and its around that time. Electrical problems could from battery or blown fuses, and rusting by moisture.
  6. I own a '99 RX300 with 90k, and never had a problem with p/s fluid and rack leakage, but I am interested on figuring what you mean by "checking/cleaning the filter." What filter is that and where is it located?
  7. i had just bought a '99 RX300 last july. My dash made squeaky sounds also. however, I found that the screws located on the underside of the upper odometer panel were loose. check if they're looseon your ride, and try tightening them. It might help reduce the squeaky sound when you're driving on bumpy roads.
