  1. No problem, and I think this should help with the nav lockpick. <_< It's for the Rx400h but your Rx350 uses the same nav system. http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=39896&st=0
  2. I think someone posted a thread like this recently actually... didn't get many people who named their cars though.
  3. Is this REAL?? Like, real guns??
  4. 14V wedge-base - Lexus Part No.: 83119-24570 or Toyota Part No.: 90069-98004 and there's a total of 8 bulbs in the cluster.
  5. Thanks for sharing that with us, and good to hear you're alive! It looks like that truck did its job and at least kept everyone's lives protected. <_< If that's what a roadside bomb does to a multi-million dollar army truck, i can only imagine the damage it could cause to a human or small car. It's a shame there are people out there building weapons like that, i see now what it's so important to have you guys over there making sure these people are eliminated. Good work out there, we appreciate what you're done for us!
  6. should be covered under factory warranty if it's still active.
  7. Hey Satz, sorry i never noticed you replied here :( I did get all your PM's though- were you able to do what you wanted to do? And thanks Mattel!
  8. Without a doubt, i would take the 2008. As far as i know, there weren't any drivetrain changes for the 2008 from the 2006. There is a difference however in the ISC reset procedure; on the 06's you need to do it after changing the battery, and on the 08 you don't- it does it automatically. If there were any other changes to the 08 from the 06, they're for the better. One of the major benefits in getting the 2008 is that it will have the upgraded navigation unit. The screen is 100% better in terms if pixel quality and contrast/brightness. The overall layout of the screen is better too. It might not seem like a big deal, but after having to look at it on a daily basis you'll appreciate the difference! Also, the 08 has upgraded headlights and taillights (tinted light blue), the chrome door handles, blue accented rear emblem, and has the interior wood trim while the 2006 has silver trim in its place. Overall the changes make the Rx400h "stand out" from the Rx350. And the difference between 30k miles and 70k miles will be made up by the fact that the 08 is 2 years (2 winters, 2 hot summers, 2 rainy springs) newer than the 2006. Time adds a lot of stress to a car. My 2008 Rx400h has 70k miles right now, and i bought it with 42k miles in 2009. Haven't had a single problem with the car besides the few which i caused myself. Also find out if the required service intervals have been completed on each. I think the most expensive ones are at 30k, 60k, and 90k. So the 70k might save you from having to pay as much if the 2006 hasn't had its 30k service yet. <_<
  9. Dammit! Good thing I've been using 93 year round... don't listen to me!
  10. Can you take a picture and post it here?
  11. Neither of the bulbs mentioned above is going to give you that "white" you're thinking of in your head. They won't come close to the color of HID's.
  12. I'm not surprised at all. When the 99 RX300 came out, it was completely unique- there wasn't anything else like it on the road. And when it was re-designed as the 04 Rx330/350, it was still one of the best. But to be honest, i don't find any qualities of the 2010+ RX to be "unique". It's not much to look it, the technology is behind that of the X5 or M-class (not even considering the 2012 which is INCREDIBLE), and the performance isn't spectacular either. That, combined with the economy is enough reason to pass on the current RX.
  13. HOLY !Removed!! That's AWESOME!! B) It really does put Lexus to shame... I have to give credit to Jeep here, that's one sick interior and the quality and detail looks amazing. <_<
  14. Unfortunately, the 06 and 07-present screens are different and i'd be willing to bet that the connectors are as well. The actual size of the screens are identical, but the pixel quality and display buttons are much different. Here's the 07-09 GS: and here's the 06 GS: You can call your Lexus dealer (parts department) though and see if the screen for the 06 GS is the same as the screen on any other models. Here's the screen from an 04-06 RX: It looks the same to me! I'd be VERY surprised if Lexus had their navigation screen manufacturers put out two different screens that give the same display... Just ask your dealer for the part numbers and see if they match up. <_< Then if they do, you can find a used 04-06 RX330 screen on ebay!
  15. Haha, isn't that so ironic? Lexus needs to start paying attention to the little things like that, the type of things that make the car feel more luxurious! And i feel bad for people who don't have NAV in their ES. I'd imagine without the ambient light from the nav screen, finding buttons on the overhead unit at night must be IMPOSSIBLE!
  16. Hmm... Depending on how the screen is illuminated (either by a thin ccfl tube running along the perimeter or by several LED's) it might be "repairable". I just don't think repair parts are even available unless you can find a used unit- but in that case, you could just install it! Contacting dcfish is probably your best bet then. He's around here somewhere, he'll find this thread soon enough!
  17. By any chance, do the "1", "2" and "3" on the homelink buttons illuminate at night too? It's amazing how Lexus puts EXTRA light on the shifter panel (which already has illuminated P-R-N-D-2-1 icons) yet doesn't have illuminated sunroof control buttons. On some other Lexus' the homelink buttons aren't even illuminated at night.
  18. Is the screen "cracked" or "scratched" at all? It's odd that the touch screen would be operative yet lose the illumination just from a bump...
  19. Well, the "idea" is that a higher grade gas (89,91,93) won't get as viscous during winter months when things get cold. And during summer since temperatures are higher, a lower grade gas might be OK. This has been an ongoing discussion as to what gas one should put in an Rx400h, and the general conclusion seems to be that using a low grade gas is "OK" but doesn't yield the same performance (in MPG's and acceleration power) as a higher grade. There doesn't seem to be any evidence that using low grade gas will hurt the engine or anything, but since the Rx400h is relatively new, the symptoms might not have had time to show up yet. So who knows! I do know that using low grade gas can cause premature failure of various sensors in the engine, but I'm sure replacing a sensor after 10 years will still be cheaper than paying the premium for 91 gas each time at the pump.
  20. Haha, i love it.
  21. Looks nice SW! SO much better looking than the older generation Jeep's. These look like much better quality too!

Could simply be coincidental, but have you thought about the sending unit in the gas tank. I agree with Paul, it must just be coincidence... Check all the units that send info to the cluster, as most likely the cluster is just fine.
  23. Apparently these sports sedan manufacturers came to the conclusion that modern (sports sedan) buyers don't like as much chrome. Why else would they be making cars without it? I doubt it saves "that" much money. It's just a trend i guess... I don't particularly like it, but evidently others do or else the cars wouldn't be selling!
  24. Can you take pics? Has the car ever been in an accident before? Sometimes even if only a bumper or fender needs re-painting, shops will clear blend into the roof to blend the paint, without even telling you! If paint work was done incorrectly it would make sense. otherwise, this shouldn't have happened. Think your dealer would "good-will" it for you? $500 sounds a bit "steep" to me...
  25. Not sure how to remove the fog light housing on your ES, but once it's removed, you'll need to pre-heat your oven (any oven will do) to 170-200 degrees and put the entire light in. after maybe 10 minutes, remove the housing and quickly separate the clear lens from the plastic housing. You can pry the clear lens off with a flathead screwdriver, removing any screws that might be visible. Then, do your business inside, and to re-attach the lens, put both pieces back in the oven for 10 minutes, then remove and press the two parts back together. The glue (sealant) softens and gets REALLY hot with heat. Don't bother trying to use a heat-gun as you won't be able to heat it all the way around in time. Using the oven works perfectly! And don't worry, at 200 degrees nothing will melt :) And my guess is that the bumper will at least need to be "pulled" away from the car to get the foglight housings off. There are various screws and nuts you'll need to remove around the perimeter of the bumper, and the wheel well liner will need to be pulled away as well i'm sure. <_<
