  1. We will be having a meet every Tuesday night from 7pm in the parking lot of the now closed Circuit City in front of BJ's.

Come to meet new people, chat with people you already know and show off your beloved lexus.

In case any of you need the address, its

Circuit City - 6401 Canoga Ave Woodland Hills California CA 91367

    Hope to see everyone there

  2. DO not install short arm intakes they do not increase horesposer , infact they loose it as well as reducing the economy of the engine by sucking in hot engine air.

The stock intake is desigined much better than those peices of junk.

A cold air intake is the onyl way to increase power.

yea, I have heard that from many people. But I was wondering, is there any way to get that deep sound that the aftermarket intake makes using the stock intake?

  3. I just removed that weird little air snorkel thing off the air box because that looked like it constricted air flow more than it helped it. Gave the engine a little bit better sound too.

As for the PWR-ECT button, if you want to hold shifts longer, you could always just shift the transmission down. :P

which snorkel thing? The one that goes from the filter box to the front of the hood?

    1. Clean air filter.
    2. Premium fuel.
    3. New spark plugs.
    4. Proper tire inflation.
    5. Upgrade tires when the old ones are worn out.
    6. New sway bars and/or polyurethane bushings.
    7. Sport shocks when old ones are worn out.
    8. Polyurethane steering rack bushings if old ones worn.
    9. Window tint.
    10. Fuzzy dice.
    11. Push the PWR-ECT button.

    :pirate:

Gotta say, I love that PWR-ECT button

  4. List any and all mods that are low priced or free that can make a big impact on the look or performance of the car. A few that I know are: 1. Removing the spare tire can make your car lighter and save you a little bit of gas 2. Vinyl eyelids that cost about $30 installed make a huge difference on the look of the car and 3. An inexpensive intake from eBay ($30-$100) can improve speed and sound of the car. Now I'd like to know if anyone else has any ideas for those of us that love our Lexus but have little money to spend

  5. Sounds like a blanket statement. Did he know the specs on the particular rims you want? Without knowing width, offset, and tire size he could not truly determine if they will rub. You would also get lower profile tires to keep the overall diameter within specs for your transmission, so that wouldn't be an issue. Low profile tires do have stiffer sidewalls and will ride rougher, relatively speaking. Here is a link which shows the relationship between offset, width, and tire diameter: Wheel / tire size calculator. For example plug in 215/60-16 16x7 ET38 and 225/40-19 19x8 ET32 you can see the diameter is the same and clearance on the inside is the same. Since I don't know the actual specs on the wheels you want, this is just for educational purposes. :whistles: TireRack lists plenty of 19" wheels for our cars: TireRack.

appreciate the help. You make more sense than the guy. I'll do some research and see what I come up with. Thanks again

  6. I was going to get some ADR 19" rims for my 1999 Gs300 and when I went to the tire shop, the guy told me that 19" would rub, reduce the life of the tires drastically, and hurt my transmission. Are any of these true? Are 19's even recommended for my car? If you have 19's or 20's on your car tell me about your Experience. Any info would help. Thanks

  7. I was going to get some ADR 19" rims for my 1999 Gs300 and when I went to the tire shop, the guy told me that 19" would rub, reduce the life of the tires drastically, and hurt my transmission. Are any of these true? Are 19's even recommended for my car? Any info would help. Thanks

  8. I think your asking for trouble. 2mm doesn't look like alot, but when after you go thru all the hoops you need to get them to fit and then this "strange vibration" that starts, and then what? Direct fit or forget it when it comes to the ride. What are the offsets and sizes?

Yea, I guess you are right. Ill just have to sell them and find some 5x114's

  9. I just bought some rims for my 1999 gs300, but it turns out the lug pattern on the rims is 5x112 and as we all know, the gs lug pattern is 5x114. Even in this case I took it to a shop and the rims fit, but my lugs were too fat. Just wondering if anyone knows a way to solve this, like an adapter, or special lugs, anything, or is it impossible to put those rims on? Thanks in advanced.
