  1. I wanted to show the potential of the torque converter, so brake torqueing would have not really been appropriate.
  2. I had the PI torque converter installed. No brake torqueing, just stomped on it. Other mods are Work 18"s, staggered, 235s in front 275s on the back, SRT intake and Carson Tuned exhaust , which sounds great, IMO. Burnout video
  3. No problem, man. I ordered my exhaust directly from Carson Toyota. Did you try calling them?
  4. Here's the message. Nick, I really like the Carson Tuned exhaust. I don't think it is too bad about the droning as some of the other exhausts. I really don't notice it at highway speeds. It sounds killer wide open throttle. My mods as far as performance are the SRT intake, the exhaust and the PI TQ and it is set at 2800 RPM. The TQ doesn't really effect drivability too much. You will notice that your car won't want to roll forward when idling at stop lights like the stock TQ would have it. It's held up fine, longevity-wise. I think I paid about $350 to have the TQ installed. In that video I was not brake torqueing, just stomped on it. The tires were a little old and when I got new skins it wouldn't do quite the same length of burnout, but it still smokes 'em pretty good. I recommend the TQ mod without reservation. It's the best thing I did for the GS for sure. Any other questions feel free to ask. Good luck. Gavin
  5. Here's a short video of my GS400 with Carson Tuned exhaust, SRT intake and Precision Industries torque converter. Probably irrelevent to you but the sound is great on the CT exhaust w/srt intake on the GS400.Video
  6. I do not know much about the Win stuff, and I don't think the Veilside will cover the stock spoiler holes, but I could be wrong. You might ask over at http://www.clublexus.com/ These guys are pretty into modding and know all the details about this stuff. Based on the stock spoilers position I would think the holes might be more toward the front of the car as compared to where the Veilside kit mounts. Good luck.
  7. Whoops, no HTML here. You can copy and paste those URLs to see my raw unpainted Veilside Exec wing.
  8. BB, The wing is one piece and it has holes for screws, though you could use double sided 3M tape for mounting, since it's a flush mount wing. I haven't installed mine yet, but I rested it in position on my trunk and it doesn't appear to have any possibility of rubbing. You will have to move your center Lexus badge down or remove it for the wing to fit properly. You can purchase directly from http://www.sp-power.com/catalog/info.php <img src ="http://www.fototime.com/1486E8680386DF0/orig.jpg"> <img src ="http://www.fototime.com/E50238530D89248/orig.jpg">
  9. Wow, that is slammed. What kind of suspension are you running. That is a well done car, and I'm an old person who doesn't like every car that is lowered with a body kit.
  10. I'm a noob too, but from what I understand the RMM diff is the same as the Supra, which means it's a direct bolt in and pretty easy to install. The TRD unit is cheaper uses your stock gear ring, so you won't get the better acceleration of the 3.76 gearing and it's a much more difficult install because you have to open the rear end and replace the internals. I have heard of folks getting old Supra diffs for very cheap, but you have to be careful of the condition and be sure it's not and open diff, as opposed to the Torsen type which you are seeking.
  11. MrSypher, I am interested in getting hooked up for my 2000 GS400. My budget, with tires is about $2500. I was going to go with SSR Comps 18x8.5 with 245s all around, basically because of the light weight, but changed my mind. I don't think the SSR Comps are a good fit for a GS400. I really like the look of some of the Works you posted in theis thread. Are 18s availible in a 8.5 width in Works?
  12. Actually, I don't even have the car yet. It's a bone stock 2000 GS400, but I am considering the SRT intake/ECU and a TC to start with.
  13. Or are they all about the same. I am referring to the SRT, RMM, PI Dragon. I am looking to install one on my GS400 and want feedback from owner who have them. Thanks.
