  1. Just stoped by quick and saw this, im guessing they are in the same place or close as on the LS400 (Same engine) here a link to the tutorials off an awesome site: http://www.lexls.com/tutorials/EFI/mainoxygensensor.html http://www.lexls.com/tutorials/EFI/suboxygensensor.html
  2. Wow NICE work! Curious about the rims tho, what are those from?
  3. Not trying to be a !Removed! but have you tried new bulbs?
  4. I've had awesome results after switching from my well used (busted) originals to some brand new KYBs! also dont listen to anyone who suggests coilovers they watch too much fast and furious lol.
  5. I had the same problem with the HCV on my '94, as far as I can tell it is only possible to reroute the vac lines to allow the heater to work properly I dont think there is anything you can do to allow the AC to function without replacing the whole part.
  6. I am replacing the struts on all 4 corners and was wondering if I also need to replace the mount, its labled "Suspension Support" on the diagrams and also is it nessecary to replace the "Spring Bumper". The car currently has 260,000kms or 165,000 miles on the current suspension. I ask mainly because the price on the mounts is rediculous $233.00 front and $297.00 rear EACH (Canadian), yes for that 3 bolt piece on the top of the strut... If I can just reuse the ones I already have I would be very happy. Are there specific signs of wear to look for on these peices, I have not done much suspension work in the past unfortunatly.
  7. I am having the same problem, I found the HCV but I am not sure how I am supposed to splice the vac lines together. Is the vac line that runs from behind the engine supposed to be tee'd into the line running to the solonoid with some extra vac line? I attached a pic showing the HCV the red arrow is where I imagine you would T into the second vac line.
  8. I am having the same issue with my '94, going to look into this tonight as well.
  9. Nice car, love the color! Gotta ask where you picked up those Soarar mats? My Lexus mats are toast and I would love a new set... also look into buying a crashed JDM Soarer from Canada for your turbo swap we have quite a few running around now and i've already seen 2 of em written off and up for sale in the local car club forums; dunno if its economical but it might be something to think about.
  10. Well I completed this project this morning took me from 11am - 3:45pm and it went rather smoothly, those guides were awesome! The only problem I had with anything was taking the pullys off which wasent hard once I grabbed the impact (good tip Dave) but for someone who does not have an impact that might have been a problem; also I could have done this alot quicker but my garage is a mess (next project) and I ended up spending alot of time cleaning up the huge mess the PS pump leak made all over the bottom of my engine. GL to anyone else who has to do this job in the future. Now I get to drive over to Lexus and pickup a Shim kit and Hardware to fix the brake squeel I am getting after my new pad install.
  11. If you know nothing about boosting a car you should buy something the comes with factory turbos, its alot of work to turbo a N/A engine especially if you have never worked on a turbo car before. Why not buy something like an Rx7/Supra/Stealth that way you dont have to do an engine swap or rebuild the manifold to get what your looking for, also realize that if you do an engine swap or add a turbo its going to be mandatory to get a good solid tune done so make sure you have people in the area with the equptment and knowledge to tune the car (lambda wideband + dyno) not just anyone can tune a high horsepower turbo engine. As for JDM engine swaps... awesome I love my JDM 13b-rew to death, but parts are gonna be hard to find and expensive and you STILL need to find a good reliable tuner at the end.
  12. Just picked up my new Alternator ($423.00 -$75.00 Core charge) and Power steering pump ($381.73 -$75.00 Core charge) along with a new Serpentine belt ($94.26) for a Grand total of $748.99 after returning the cores, also to anwser my own earlier question neither of these parts came with an attached pully and the P/S pump does not come with a resovoir.' I plan to start this project Sun/Mon so I will be posting my experience once I am done, I plan on using the instructions below unless someone has links to better How too. http://www.lextreme.com/alternator.html http://www.planetsoarer.com/Power%20steering%20pump.htm
  13. My '94 had a similar problem with those lights coming on for no reason, ended up the EGI was throwing a code however just pulling out and plugging back in the EGI fuse fixed the problem.
  14. I just had the alternator in my '94 SC400 go due to a leaky power steering pump and I am currently trying to price out the parts to complete the repair currently I plan on buying a new Alternator, PS Pump & New Belt but I was wondering if I need to replace the pully's on these units or if they come with new ones on them? and with the PS pump do I need to replace the resovoir or any hoses? This should be a fun first fix for my SC lol.
