  1. AC system had no leaks until expansion valve was replace then the evaporator was reported to be leaking by tech. He cliam he did not cause leak and did not do any work at the evaporator. My understanding of the system is that the expansion valve is connected to the evaporator. Can anyone confirm this? I am thinking the leak was developed during the repair of the expansion valve. Has anyone had similar experience? I wish I had a manual showing the system connections. A good photo would help. Hope someone can help before I fork over additional monies in addition to 1200.00 already spent. Thanks for comments. Here is an update on this issue. For all you Dallas Metroplex residence do not take your car to Cowboy Toyota for sevice. They will gauge you, they are incompetent. Improperly diagonosed my AC problem, replace expansion valve and condenser for 1200.00. Did not solve problem. Then said it was a leak in the evaporator replace for an additional 893.00. Now the problem is solved. They fixed items that was not broken and essentially solve the problem by trial and error at my expense. Stay away from them at all cost it will save you more than you know.
  2. My AC leaked freon over three month period to a level where it was not cooling. Tech recharged and leaked out again. After recharge the head pressure was really high, the system is filled with freon, yet there are bubbles in sight glass. Tech says there is blockage in the system causing high head pressure. Recommends complete flush to remove contaminants. Thinks contaminants may be Oring, rust, etc.... Oring pieces may have come from compressor unit. Would it make sense to repair and/or replace compressor during flush? Has anyone had this problem and can give some comments about it? Tech quoted almost $400.00 bucks for the flush. Thanks for your comments.
  3. I reported a problem earlier with my nav system on my 2002 GS430, The DVD drive was not working the dvd does not rotate. I was able to repair the problem. There was a switch located inside the dvd rom drive that was stuck. Once released the nav units works as normal. Thanks to everyone who gave suggestions for possible resolutions. :D :P
  4. Thanks for the info. I'll contact them and will let you know if they can help.
  5. 2002 GS430, The DVD drive is not working the dvd does not rotate. Can anyone direct me to repair shop? Or can you tell me where to get another one without paying a ARM & LEG? The Drive part number is 86841-33060.
  6. 02 Lexus GS430, My nav system will not display. I get error message NO DVD. Insert Map DVD. The DVD is in the drive. Has anyone had this problem? I am wondering if my drive is gone bad and not reading the disk. It doesn't eject the disk very smoothly. Nor does it accept the disk very well. There seems to be some vibration and grinding sound coming from the drive. Any suggestions? I left out one detail, I mistakenly inserted a non system disk, the system may have tried to update and in the process dumped the memory. Is this a possible theory? HELP SOMEBODY!!!! Does anyone have the original disc for a 2002 GS403 Nav. system? I'm not sure which version came with the car. Can anyone help me out?
