  1. I like the JL 500, and that would be a good idea except that I have an MB Quart and a Nakamici amp that I ran in my last car that needs to be put to use. All of the line converters that I see are $50 or less and none are made by a company that is known for their quality.
  2. Hi all I'm in the process of upgrading my ML Sub by replacing it with a boxed JL W7 and separate amp. I've seen comments where some cheap Line level Conveters burn out. So for those that have made this upgrade, which Line level converter did you youse. I was looking at the JL Cleansweep, but it appears that it need a full range signal to work, and I don't think there is anyplace on the ML system to tap a full range signal. Thanks
  3. Ok, got it. After hours of searching manually, (search function on this site won't allow words shorter than four letters, DVD?) I found a post. Future reference for anyone that might encounter this problem. Go to the normal "eject" screen and tap both the lower left and upper right. Back to the drawing board!
  4. Hi all Bought a new ES350 last week with the nav/ML system. Haveing used many other GPS systems in the past, it didn't take long before this one drove me crazy. After a few hours of research on this site, I was ready to burn my fist "hack" dvd. I rushed to the car with high hopes of actually having a usable system. Popped out the regular disk (6.1) and popped in the new and improved version. As luck would have it the system didn't read the disk, but that isn't the real problem. The real problem is that since it doesn't recognize the disk, (keeps saying "no disk") it won't eject the disk either. So how do I make this system eject the disk without tearing the unit out of the dash and pulling the covers off of the system?? Thanks
  5. I picked up my ES350 yesterday with the ML system in it. I've always installed my own high end after market system in my past cars. On my drive home from work tonight a good tune came on and I was forced to turn up the volume. The sub quickly ran out of gas. My next stop was my favorite stereo shop. I was told that the ML amp could not be replaced with a standard aftermarket amp. I was also told that the speaker level outputs from the ML amp could be used to drive a new amp and Sub. They recomendation was a sealed box sub, placeded in the trunk. They said that you could also place an amp between the ML amp and the other speakers, but didn't seem excited that that would be good from a sound quality point. They said if you want real good sound, rip it all out. I don't think so! At least not yet.
  6. There is only one real way on the 07 and newer, most dealers know the trick but will not do it. I live in Salt Lake I got a local mod shop to jump the wire on the shift switch, it tricks the nav into thinking you are in park. 45 bucks, I have Levinson so I watch DVD and use the phone the whole deal, it will hurt your warranty, but the wire is back in the shift area the dealer will never see it. Do you have any more info on this? Did they access the switch from inside the car or underneath?
