  1. Thanks Guys! That was what i thought! I am going to confront my dealer early next week. He was telling me earlier today it will cost me around $100 for labor and installation costs. I am going to ask him what labor costs he was talking about here! This is daylight robbery!
  2. I have an ES300 and i plan to install a cargo net in my trunk. I called my dealer and gave me a price of $25 plus taxes but said it would take around $100 to install it!! I felt that was on the higher side and did not believe it was that difficult to fix it myself. I opened my trunk and to my surprise i saw that two loops that fit on pegs ware already mounted inside the trunk! All i have to do is just attach the net to these loops and i am done!! Am i missing something here? If i am not then i think this dealer was trying to take me for a ride!! All inputs would be highly appreciated. Thanks
  3. HoeBag, I am scheduled to fly out to Sydney around last week of May on work. If for some reason my trip gets postponed i shall surely attend. Too bad i can't take my ES there!! Thanks
  4. I had bought a ES 300 in May ’03 and I went on a long (really long drive) – from Houston to Ottawa, ON last week (a total of 3800 miles both ways). I really enjoyed every minute of my drive. The DVD navigation system worked like a dream and it was amazing how it could get me information like the nearest hotels, gas stations restaurants, etc (POI’s). The navigation system was able to track even the small streets in Ottawa! I was doing around 75 mph and it felt I was doing around 65!! Inspite of driving this long, I never felt any tiredness – maybe it has to do with the quality of the ride. Everything about the vehicle impressed me and I am glad I bought a Lexus!! I got mileage around 24mpg – maybe that’s on the lower side. But who cares? I noticed one thing though. If I drove around 75 mph the mileage was around 22-23mpg. But if drove around 65 mph, I got a mileage around 25mpg. Didn’t make any sense to me though!!
  5. Oh Yes! i did change the zone location to Can and the system immediately recognized the address and i was able to preview the entire route i am supposed to take. Wow!! My question still however remains 'Has anyone ever used it in Canada and did it work?
  6. Guys, I had bought a es 300 last May with the dvd navigation system and i am simply thrilled with it. Works great in Texas and i even drove to St Louis and the navigation system guided me every mile of the way. I now intend to drive to Ottawa, Canada and wanted to know if the navigation system will work there. I tried inputting the address and the system did recognize it and i could also take a look at the route overview. I have heard someone saying that the dvd navigation system goes blank as soon as it crosses the border into Canada. Wondering if someone used it in Canada and how it works there. Thanks
  7. AMF1932, i adjusted the scale of miles on the display and it works fine now!! Thanks a lot again!!
  8. Guys, Just happened to see this website and very impressed with this. I just registered and this is my first post. I bought a new ES 300 in May 2003 and simply love it. It drives smoothly, is so quiet and the built in DVD navigation sytems works like a dream. Of late i have noticed something in navigation system screen. When driving , the screen does not show all the small streets/roads which are near my present place of location. It only shows the names of major roads. Iam in the Houston area.It used to show these small street names before(about two months back). Is there something i need to do or does this mean it needs a upgrade? All inputs will be highly appreciated. Thanks
