  1. here you go. http://sr1.clublexus.com/forums/sc-400-300...ing-repair.html
  2. Yes we do, its under the glove compartment. Remove the wing nuts and you are there.
  3. My shop teacher tought us to do that, but it doesnt make a lot of difference. You must use a torch to get it really hot, then use the cold water rag or ice. When metal gets very hot,it expands, and gets soft, when it changes the temperature to cold it shrinks and pulls itseft out a little
  4. No here too,too much work and too expensive.
  5. Could be the brakes grinding ,needs to be changed. Metal on metal.
  6. Let me save you some pain...or actualy add some pain. My car did the same thing.Compression was fine,no coolant in the oil,and no sighns of blown head gasket. All it did was bubling in the overflow.Mine ended up being a head gasket failure. Open the radiator cap and smell the coolant,if it smells like fuel, then you got a blown head. If you are not sure, and have extra $50,go to napa and get a blown headgasket kit that goes in your radiator hole.
  7. Here is a way to see if you are getting fuel from your pump. 1-turn your ignition all the way but dont start. 2- find a diagnostics box in the engine bay(small 1" x2") located in front of the intake mani, towards front of the car. 3-insert a paper clip into ports PF and B+ you should hear the fuel pump running ,and you'll hear the fuel swishing . now you can start the car,and it should start. If it doesnt work then you have fuel pump problems.
  8. Link doesn't work. Dang!!! got my hopes up for nothing :/
  9. wow thats cool. Is it plug and play? If not the modification alone will kill you.
  10. SC300 Easier to work on the engine and boost galore ;)
  11. You know what? 160,000 miles is not a lot of miles for the 400,i still think theres plenty of hope....just check the body for rust,if theres minimal, just try to spend less money on parts, dont get the parts from stealership...Exept the head gasket, thats important. If you do all the work your self it will be a lot cheaper, kinda like 70% off :D
  12. If i was you i would pull the engine and rebuild everything.I know it sounds crazy, but since you got so many problems its not worth fixing one thing and guessing about everything else. Pull the engine, take off the alternator and get it tested. Then clean the radiator, install new waterpump, and while you there check the head gasket, timing belt, plugs, valves etc... I have a blown head (sc300) but my oil was fine. The car overheated few times.I tore it appart and discovered white crap under my valve covers.
  13. Things are actually going quite well, I'm very surprised! All the cuts were very straight and precise..something I wasn't expecting at all. Now we have to lightly grind down the cuts made, and smooth everything out. I will update with some pictures soon. I'm also looking for a front passenger fender. Do you know where I should be looking? *coughtwidebodycough*lol
  14. HA HA HA HA HA Are you serious? You can drive to Indiana and i'l give you both of my front seats for $200 lol Some of these mechanics are crazy....dont forget about the junk yard ....you'll spend about $50 and replace the parts that dont work.
