  1. THX a lot. You are a life (and wallet) saver. I'll go to radio shack over the weakend to get the caps and have a computer shop or something solder them in. I can solder, and pretty well, however I want the capacitors done by a pro. I'll post my results and finished product as soon as I can.

  2. post-76827-1259968959_thumb.jpgpost-76827-1259969091_thumb.jpgI have dissasembled the gauge cluster down to the boards and was wondering if anyone knows what transistor or circut actually needs to be replaced in order to fix the back lighting issue. I remember a thread on club lexus I believe that talked about it, but I have searched both forums and can't find anything. I attached pics of the boards if it helps and my dissassembly line.

  3. I like the hearts in the topic. Reminds me of Jcrome. BTW leave over-drive on all the time unless you are towing something up a hill. Especially on sllipy roads because you will have more torque going to the wheels without OD and there fore more chance of wheel spin.

  4. does yours pop just once when you turn or multiple times as you turn the wheel? It seems for me the more I turn the wheel the more times it pops. Sometimes will driving straight and I try to change lanes or make a sudden turn and It will feel like I don't have PS and its really hard to turn, then after enough pressure it pops and returns to the normal steering feel. Its a little scary sometimes because I have all that pressure on the wheel and then it will pop and turn really quick. This ONLY occurs on below about 40 degree starts and is gone within a few turns of the wheel.

  5. OOO MY GOODNESS!! :D Where can I get one? I have always loved those sc400s. What kind of ecu would you run with a supercharged engine like that? A mega squert or something? When I have the time and money I will build my a twin turbo 1uz bored and stroked with a custom intake manifold like that one. 1000WHP goal. OO man I would be tire rack's number one customer if I had me one of those! HAHA :D :D :D

  6. When is Lexus going to come out with an LS that rivals the AMG version of the S class from Mercedes?!

IMHO never. Lexus is supposed to be the ultra refined and elegant brand. I.E. for old people. German cars(BMW and Benz) have the sportier more of a drivers car appeal. Although the ISF is supposed to rival the M3, it doesn't really stack up that well on the road as it does on paper, or so I've heard. I wish I could say I have drove them both, but I have only driven an M3. And the only reason lexus has that new LA-F is because you couldn't put a Toyota badge on it and ask for $400K with a straight face.

It's not that I don't think Lexus should start becoming more of a drivers car, it's just that they have there market nitch. Allthough to have their quality and attention to detail in a true performance-luxury sedan would be really COOL.

  7. thanks for all that info. It is a great help. I am still stumped however on what size of compressor to get. If i want to run a dual action sander for a while or an impact wrench, I don't want to have to worry about sitting there al dumb looking waiting for the compresso to catch up. However I don't need a 45 gallon compressor to run an air brush. So a happy medium would be good I think. What do you all sugest? Also If I want to use a spray gun on my car I don't want a bunch of water coming out of the gun, so will just draining it ever now and again keep it water free?

  8. Not bad upgrades, but the LS460 will never be a sports car. (Nor will any 4200+ lb luxury sedan.)

Would've been nice to see a supercharger or something to get that power output up!

Hmm a Factory supercharger, good idea. Or even something like the new tundra's that have a factory made, warrentee compliant, "aftermarket" supercharger available from the dealer. 360 HP is good, but not really enough to rival BMW 7 series or merc. S-class. If your going to sport up the breaks, suspension, and trans, then it seems power should be next.

  9. I am looking for a decent air compressor for me. I need something that can handle a paint gun, occasional sander, and nailer use along with other misc. tools. Nothing to big, but nothing too small either. I want it to be relitivly compact and portable because I don't want it to take up too much space in my garage. I also want it to be powerfull enough that I don't have to worry about painting a bumper and sanding down a 1/4 panel to bare metal. Should I buy a brand name or is off brand ok? What size should I get? I have so many question!! Any advice would be great. Thanks in advance.
