  1. Only had her a month. Angelique. A variant of Angelica meaning angelic. Angel; Like an angel.
  2. well ty for bringing up a post from 5 years ago to tell us that sir! hahahahaha you must really have an issue with it! Agreed tho
  3. Fishing line.. work it back and forth to get in behind it..,.. do a search on debadging. BP Good Looks. Thanks!!!
  4. Yea that how I feel about it :( . In reality it is just one of the plastic tags/emblems dealerships throw on the back of cars to advertise. Let alone this is a Chevy dealership tainting the back of my beautiful GS. Any suggestions for effective removal? Thanks
  5. if its such a pain, just replace it or pay someone to replace it. and battery wasnt a trick, it was coincidence. Let me rephrase my prior post then: "Happened again. Its such a pain. The battery COINCIDENCE did not work this time. I let it sit overnight, next morning it shut without a problem. Because its such a pain I SHOULD PAY SOMEONE TO REPLACE IT, but because I am cheap I wont right now. Ill just avoid opening my hood w. the exception of an engine fire...maybe not then either." Momma says I learn real good, of course momma used to take me out back and beat me with a rubber hose. Maybe one day Brian....maybe one day Ill get to the bottom of it. Til then, Im putting my excess funds into replacing the audio in my car B/c driving with all highs is more of a pain than this funky hood latch. Sometimes I sit and talk to my car....it never seems to go anywhere....anyone else have this problem ?
  6. Happened again. Its such a pain. I battery trick did not work this time. I let it sit overnight, next morning shut with no problem.
  7. I have found a car audio shop that does some great work. Have a few Steelers as customers. Has anyone had any experience with Memphis Audio speakers/subs/amps? I was going to go all JL but the guy recommended I take a Look at Memphis Audio also. Im still trying to fiqure out what I want to spend so he provided a second option. Thanks
  8. Does anyone have a recommendation for mechanics in the Pittsburgh, PA area? I want to get to the bottom of my VSC OFF light problem and would prefer to avoid the local Lexus and Toyota Dealerships. Also does anyone have any insight on car audio shops in the same area? I would prefer to take it somewhere based on referral. Thank you
  9. Yeah Who knows. Guess having such a fine car I can deal with this latch thing. I will make a note to clean the latch when I clean my engine compartment. I wonder if it was just dumb luck that disconnecting the battery seemed to resolve the issue. I gotta get some pics up so some of you can give me input on these aftermarket door pannels I have. 3 pods in each front door for speakers w. a Lexus badge (same as on your grill) inserted into the door. Thats another story tho.
  10. what? who tells you'll this stuff.....no the hood doesnt....and i didnt know caddies trunks do that but\u just have the same problems MOST gs's get ... with the hood latch actually not working very well. mine would work sometimes and sometimes not...just replace the cable its cheap and will fix the problem http://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-second-...eplacement.html No one tells me this stuff. I was just standing there at 10pm wondering why the **** my hood would not fully latch. I posted on the forum but I wasnt going to sit waiting for a response. And something about the search option on the forum seems to hate me. I Was just hypothesizing standing there in the street if maybe they were motorized in a way. I do not know about all caddies, but I know a friends Eldorado's trunk "clicks" into place then is vacumed down through some technology. It seemed like a reasonable possibility to me. I was just wondering what went wrong. Ill keep the cable in mind next time. I mean is it really that crazy to conjur up the idea that it could be electric? My hood release lever lost all tension in the car and from what I could see there appears to be a small mechanical mechanisim in the hood latch assembly. And for some reason disconnecting my battery did the trick so I thought it seemed like practical deduction. I really need my manual to come in the mail!! Thanks for the reply. Christians have the good book, Lexus owners have LOC!
  11. $7,150 is was NADA.com/b2b gave me. That is the paid version a friend granted me access too. If you like I can run your VIN for a more accurate quote.
  12. The other night I could not get my hood to fully latch. I may have closed it too hard in the first place but it would close and catch, but not fully lock down. I was thinking I ****** up my hood latch closing the hood with force. I was in the process of removing the hood latch when I thought to try something else first. I ended up pulling the Neg on the battery for a minute and closing it softly again. All went well. I do not have the manual yet for my car and wasnt sure if the hoods vacume close by motor like Caddy's trunks. Thats all....
  13. taken care of by pulling the battery. this happen when they are closed w. force?
  14. Hey fella, I do not yet have the manual for my lex. Why wont my hood fully latch down? it catches, buit will not vacume down. 2005 Gs 300 Thanks
  15. Sweet Link Sakataj...(brian right?) I will try pulling the fuses & if that produces no positive results looks like I'll focus on the link. Be easy on me b/c I am a novice, but aside from having the codes ran what would be the best way to find which sensor is fubar? Just pull the tires and look for frayed / broken wire? Sorry if that seems like a foolish question, but like I said, just got the car a few days ago. Good looks fellas. you gotta know bout these Pittsburgh streets then........F.U.B.A.R was made to describe them
  16. Thanks for the tip Ken. I will give it a go when I return home today. I appreciate it. I was fairly nervous to drive the car from Hartford to Pittsburgh not knowing what condition my VCS was in b/c the forcast called for very heavy rain. Not to mention I had only spent a couple of hours driving a GS before making the 8 hr trip. And 1 year not driving at all prior. I believe the system is working though b/c we did run through some very very heavy rain for extended periods and I had no problem keeping up with my girl in her all wheel drive Trailblazer SS @ 70-80 mph. I was expecting some scary moments but the Lex really held up well. I was also just real paranoid. If anyone knows Pittsburgh hills/streets I hate having this car here. Cant wait to get it back to New England. I will post once I give your method a try & hopefully get some pics by the weekend. Thanks again
  17. Fellas, Just got back from Connecticut where I picked up my car from my family's house. because i live in pittsburgh they were nice enough to go to the dealership and handle the purchase of my car for me. When I got back to CT this past weekend to get my car the damn VSC & VSC OFF lights are on. When my parents picked up the car someone at the dealership found a way to turn it off. My dilema is that : A) The dealership is a Chevrolet Dealer and no one seems to know anything about lexus or which one of their service people looked at my car. (I am awaiting a call back on that) B) The VSC button does not do anything. C) I really do not want to have to drive from Pittsburgh to NYC where the dealer is to have this fixed under my 60 day warranty. I know it could be anything from speed sensor, or worse. I believe the guy who owned it before me had aftermarket wheels. When they returned the stock wheels could they have missed something? Also can places like Autozone and Advanced autoparts pull the codes for lexus or would I have to have a dealer run through it? Any tips, are appreciated. I would love to not have to make that drive. BTW i drive 8 hrs from CT to Pitt in some heavy rain w. no problems. 2005 GS300 Thanks in advance.
  18. Test drive the car next time. :o . I am not positive if there is any solution for you aside from going w. smaller wheels/tires. Some of the veterans on the board may be able to suggest an alternative but to my knowledge it is simply a size/space issue. Why cant you go smaller? Sell the 20's, especially if they are newer you can try and get a good price for them and invest in some 17 or 18's to your liking and no more issue. Good Luck.
  19. Just use GOOGLE.com the answers are there. from a quick overview of what i saw the differences are things like stiffer springs, diff. color emblem and badges, ...nothing major.
  20. Hi guys, I have been posting on the forums and you guys have been great so far. So now I have a reason to be a member. Here is the car. Picking it up from the dealer next weekend. http://www.bicalchevy.com/VehicleDetails/365977483
  21. Thanks guys! I just made a purchase this past weekend. Ill start a new thread w. a link. sakataj ....if that is still available in the future I may have to take up on that. thanks
  22. hi guys, just want to confirm. an 05 gs would have dvd based navigation correct? thank you
  23. yea i guess i shouldnt bring up two week old posts?! Im still looking for a 2GS. Found one @ a dealer that looks to be the same color as the one in this post. It was advertised as Parchment Crystal. I believe your right though. Looks more like the Mystic Sea. my bust.
  24. I believe that color is called Parchment Crystal
  25. Thanks SRK. What sucks is that I can not test drive these cars until I get my DL back, so every time i look at a car i have to have a friend or relative drive it. enjoy...
