Rear Tire Rub 04 Gs300 Please Advise
Xarnette15 replied to Xarnette15's topic in Wheels and Tires Forums
Anyone please? Before I pay for new shocks and springs...and end up paying for something with no results...could it be the 046 offset? Because they were off an LS and now on a GS? Thanks quote name='Xarnette15' timestamp='1310485088' post='437524'] I am having more Rub Issues than I projected. The wheels are staggered Vertini Fasion. Specs below. They came off an LS430 They are rubbing when I have passengers or when I go over certain bumps. Is this a result of Offset, tire size, or worn rear shocks/springs? Any suggestions would be appreciated. The rub is on the sidewall of the rear tires. Stock Height Front are 20 x 8.5 HM 046 Hankook 245/35ZR20 95Y Rear are 20 x 10 HM 046. Hankook 275/30R20 97Y Off of a 2003 or 2004 LS430 Kindest Regards -

Wheels And Tips On 2001?
Xarnette15 replied to FireFrost's topic in 93 - 05 Lexus GS300 / GS400 / GS430
I believe those are wheels off of a 3rd Gen GS. They were not an option on the 2nd Gen but are a lexus wheel to the best of my knowledge. Not sure on exhaust. -
Someone local to me has staggered Vertini Fashion wheels for sale off his 2003 LS 430. I wanted to pick up Lexani LSS-10's but these Vertini's are a great deal. I was curious if they will fit my car? Front are 20 x 8.5 HM 046 Tires are Hankook 245/35ZR20 95Y Rear are 20 x 10 HM 046. Hankook 275/30R20 97Y Thanks for your time. Kindest Regards

Hankook 275/30R20 97Y Will these wheels with these tires bolt onto my stock height 2005 GS 300? If this has to go into Wheels & Tires forum I apologize, I just thought it was an appropriate question for other GS owners. Kindest Regards

Big Fan. I have an 05 GS300 looks Identical w/o the wheels. I was wondering do you have any performance mods for HP increase. When it is financially feasible I want to grab 20's & do a drop but I really would hate to lose a ton of power w. the weight of the wheels. Is there a sizeable difference in P/Torque? Regards

I own a 2005 GS300. In terms of performance it is stock. If anyone cares to share their knowledge it would be appreciated. I do not plan to modify this car for another year or two, (currently 62k on odometer, by then maybe 85-100K). At this time I hope to be in a position to have a daily driver and start work on my GS, as we know 100k shouldnt be a concern when building these cars, Correct? I would eventually like to add 20's to the car, TTE front lip & sportline rear bumper, also a slight drop to remove any wheel well gaps, nothing crazy low, just enough to make it pleasing to the eye. Also perhaps a brake upgrade to slow the larger wheels, advice here is appreciated also. I do not need any crazy power out of this car, I know the motors have the potential for some serious HP, but I would like to make moves to compensate for the larger wheels, added weight ect. Maybe a 50-75hp increase is possible. Any suggestions? I have read through the forum and found many of you say that if your not going turbo its a waste of time/money. If that is the case I will have to strongly consider it, however is there a possibility of reaching my goal of 50-75 more hp with Intake, exhaust, chip, ect? Also does anyone know the weight of the WORK EUROLINE DH wheels in 20 in sizes? I have searched & emailed WORK but with little success. I like the Idea of a light wheel, but I doubt I will be throwing the cash down for Forged wheels as I want this car to just be a cruiser, nothing wild. Other wheel suggestions are also appreciated. I have currently looked at WORK Euroline, MRR HR2 & HR4, & Volk Progressive TS. Basically suggestions for products from Wheels/Lowering/Power are all welcome!! Your insight is eduction for me. Kindest Regards, Chris

Switching Sythetic To Synthetic Blend
Xarnette15 replied to Xarnette15's topic in 93 - 05 Lexus GS300 / GS400 / GS430
Agreed! I only had this change done by the dealer because it was my 60k service. I change my oil 95% of the time. Next change I will revert back to synth. This dealer was awesome w. everything from prices to time & checking in before proceeding with repairs, they just missed that one request. While it is disturbing I cant say its enough to keep me away from having my next major service done there. I will be sure to be very clear though. regards -
I had my 60K service done @ a local toyota dealership. Overall great service, however I did notice on my bill it said Oil-Bulk. I had told the service manager over the phone that the car had fully synthetic in it. When I called he said that they use a synthetic blend from toyota unless it is specified on the oil cap. I reminded him that I had mentioned the car ran fully synthetic & the sticker they replaced from the last oil change specified the brand & type of oil used. All in all he told me it is nothing I should worry about. I asked if I could revert back to fully Synthetic @ my next change & he said it shouldnt be a problem. Should I be concerned? All other services provided were top notch. Regards.

Hello, I purchased a set of stock 18x8 wheels off a 2008 Infiniti G37 for my 2005 GS300. I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction for finding blank center caps so I do not have to ride w. the infiniti's. Regards.

18in Infiniti Wheels
Xarnette15 replied to Xarnette15's topic in 93 - 05 Lexus GS300 / GS400 / GS430
Does anyone know where I can purchase blank center caps? The ones from my stock 16 in lexus wheels are too big for the infiniti holes & I would prefer to not rock the Infiniti Centers. Also does this sound right? The Lexus center bore is 35mm-40mm. These Infiniti wheels are 43mm. So I would need a Spacer? It was also recommended that I purchase 235/40-18 tires if I upgrade to the 18 in wheel. Or 240/40-18. The second would be wider, correct? Any opinions on that? What have some of you had to pay for 60K service? Regards! -
Hello, Just relocated back to Connecticut. Does anyone have any Independent Shops that are reasonable in New England? I am in need of a 60k service. Regards.

E-brake Light On But No E-brake?!?!
Xarnette15 replied to DJSin's topic in 93 - 05 Lexus GS300 / GS400 / GS430
Glad to hear you resolved the problem. I had/have the same problem with my hood latch sticking. For the first few months I would avoid opening my hood at all cost. For my car it was the cable strecthing but now that I have located it to the right of the latch all you have to do is give it a tug and the latch releases....if that helps anyone w. that problem. -
18in Infiniti Wheels
Xarnette15 replied to Xarnette15's topic in 93 - 05 Lexus GS300 / GS400 / GS430
Ill be changing the center caps for sure. I paid $450 for all 4....so it was a cheap pick up. I dont mind the stock GS wheels but mine are chrome which im not a huge fan of. Ill see how they look on the car & if they dont blend well im sure i could sell em. Regards. Those are nice wheels and a great price too. I believe the bolt pattern will be the same but the centre bore for Infiniti is typically larger (66.1 vs 60.1mm) so you may need an adaptor ring. Would I need to purchase this adaptor ring or would any shop I have mount & balance my tires & wheels have them at hand? Thanks!
