  4. I have 93 LS400 and battery on the key I think has gotten weak. I may need to replace them. Does anyone have any tips on replacing the battery? If anyone has done it, where can I buy the batery? Can I get them from Walgreens? What is the battery number? Is it going to be difficult taking the battery out? Any information would be appreciated.
  5. Are you sure the jumping would shut off the light? I try this and it did not work. What method did you use to jump? Thanks in advance for your reply.
  6. I do not know how many miles you have on the car or if you found a solution. I had similer experience with my Camry. If the car finally died, you might want to look into ignition coil. My Camry had 150K at the time the coil was out.
  7. Fluid level is full and there is not a trace of leak around the pump. I've looked at the bottom part of the pump too.
  8. Brake pad warning light is only available from 93 model and on. This is not something that can reset. There is a pair of ceramic warning device that is installed on your brake. This device must be replaced. Each cost I think about $50 from dealer.
  9. It is a common problem. I have a same promblem and found a guy who will fix the problem if you take the dashboard apart and ship it to him. If you haven't found the solution, write me an e-mail and I will forward his e-mail address to you. cmk033@yahoo.com
  10. I would comment on the PS roaring. There is a something called pulley that your main belt turns. It is a bearing that goes out. When it does, I am not sure exactly what you meant by roaring sound, but it sound like your steering pump has gone out. My mechanic took a stethoscope and put it on the pulley then on the steering module to determine the sound was coming from the pulley. I am not sure what I had paid for the pulley replacement but replacing that eliminated the PS roaring sound. I had thought the sound was coming from PS. You should check this out before trying to replace the PS module. Other problem you've mentioned, I do not think are related problems.
  11. I have 93 LS with about 110K miles on it. I've had this problem for sometime but just living with the problem. If anyone had similar experience that wouldn't mind shairing. The steering vibrates when trying to turn the steering. It does not happen all the time only when outside temperture is hot and engine is hot. Even with the hot engine, it does not happen all the time. Only when you are putting a stress on the steering like trying to turn steering wheel when car is not in motion. I hope this describes the symtoms and I also hope someone has same experience and found a source of problem. <_< <_<
  12. How many miles on the car? Also you should aask your uncle the last time the battery is replaced. Define "Won't State" better. Is it when you turn the key, it click, click, click, ... or just "click"? So is the car just sitting because you cannot start or it sometiems starts? If it is just sitting, how long has it been just sitting?
  13. Thank you very much. I have not had a chance to look at this problem in detail but coming from a person who went through it, I already have a good feeling about the problem resolution. You do not know how apprecitive I am about you shairing the information. I will be more then willing to shair my experience about my LS400. cmk033@yahoo.com
  14. I have 93 LS400 with about 115K miles on the car. Since the spring of this year, I've been having car die problem when brake is applied (mostly in engine cold condition although it did happened inconsistantly). When this happens, I turn my ignition and nothing. Car doesn't even turn over as if battery is completely dead. I have to pull over and let it sit for a while (10 minute?) then the car comes back to normal. At first, I suspected the battery cable connection (positive or negative). But more and more I begin to suspect it is some type of relay disconnection. Anyone with a similar experience of success? Also, I am not sure if this is related but my dashboard instrument is not working sporadically. Specifically my RPM meter is not working in cold start condition and then after 10 minutes of driving, it starts to work. Sometimes the speedometer is like that too but not as often. I do not have a problem with dashboard light although the bar to indicate the speed is half dark. Your help would be greatly appreciated.
