  1. I experienced the same problem with my 2006 GS300 AWD. I recommend the following: Scott Wheeler scott@radar-mirror.com www.radar-mirror.com 972-571-7427 They did a great job on my mirror and the finished product is great. It only cost $99 US plus shipping
  2. When my Samsung cell phone is connected to the Bluetooth system in my 2006 GS300 AWD, only the phone will ring - not the vehicle's audio system. Sometimes I can miss hearing the cell phone ring due to it being stored in the centre console compartment. Can one program the Lexus Bluetooth system to make it ring on the audio system? Thanks
  3. I bought my 2006 GS300 AWD at Don Valley North Lexus (Markham, north of Toronto) and have had them conduct some warranty work. They are extremely helpful and very pleasant to deal with. I am having some work done in the next few weeks so I will be able to give a more up-to-date report after that experience.
  4. Does the GS350 have a different high beam system than the GS300, please? Look in your manual, is there a seperate low and high beam adjustment in the GS300? Yes, there are separate adjustments for the low beams and the high beams on the GS300. The dealership has adjusted them but the high beams are still not bright enough nor focussed enough to light up the road far ahead. The low beams are HID but the high beams are only halogen and therefore more yellow, than bright white light.
  5. Does the GS350 have a different high beam system than the GS300, please?
  6. I live north of Toronto and sometimes drive on country roads at night. When traffic is around (either in front of me going same direction or coming towards me) I find the low beams are very good, especially as they are HID lamps. When there is NO traffic, the high beams do NOT light up the road far enough ahead to allow one to safely drive faster than 70 kph (45 mph). The high beams are NOT focussed to light the road further ahead than the low beam lamps. The high beams are not HID and they also spread the light too much, width and height. I feel strongly that the high beams are not suitable for driving at night on open country roads, but I am probably in the minority (less than 5% of Lexus GS300 drivers, who drive on country roads). Has anyone else experienced thsi problem, please? Disapppointed Lexus GS300 AWD owner
  7. I am also interested in Nav and backup camera but I live in Ontario, Canada bridlewood@sympatico.ca
  8. I used the Nokian WR tires on my previous vehicle, a Nissan Maxima. I wa svery happy with them but I lived in Toronto and only ventured out of the City at weekends. I strongly suggest you consider snow tires on separate rims for winter driving. Over 4 years, it works out similar to two sets of all-season tires. Best of luck
  9. If you plan to keep the GS300 for at least 3 or 4 years, then buy snow tires on separate wheels/rims. I have Toyo tires Versado LX for Summer and Observe G-02 Plus for Winter, both sets are mounted on alloy rims. It is best to be safe with the right tires for the season. The advantages of snow tires are huge and safety is the most important thing as far as I am concerned. Best of luck,
  10. I have been told that Lexus Canada told my dealer that they could not be aligned separately. I have now spoken to the General Manager of the dealership. Lexus Canada called me but I was NOT impressed with the person from Customer Satisfaction. No empathy to my situation and rather offhand as to the headlamp problem. The car is going into the dealer tomorrow for them to attempt the necessary adjustment of the high beam. Fingers crossed, although I am not that optimistic. dude, you need to read pages 587-592 of YOUR owners manual, then bring that manual to that service manager, then tell him you would like to speak to his boss before you take your business to a dealership that knows what they are doing. steviej
  11. The service manager at the dealership said "Unfortunately we are not able to align the high beam separately from the low beam"
  12. With my 2006 GS300 AWD on the open road, the high beams did NOT project any further than the low beams. My friend who owns a 2008 Lexus IS250 AWD, was with me and he remarked how low and poor the high beam headlamps were. I have also compared my headlamps with my wife's RAV4 headlamps and there was quite a difference in how far my Lexus GS300 AWD projected and where they should project. My dealership says that unfortunately they are not able to align the high beam separately from the low beam. They said that Lexus has had similar complaints from other GS owners and the only possible correction is aiming of the entire headlamp which would mean that the low beam would also be higher. They can do this but there are limits as to how high they can go before endangering oncoming traffic. The low beam are a high intensity discharge system that gives off a very bright white light, and the high beams are a regular halogen bulb which gives off a more yellow light with less power. This will make it look as though the hi beams are not working as well as the low beams, and when I turn on my high beams it automatically turns off the fog lamps. Is there any solution?
  13. I have purchased new rims with snow tires for my 2006 GS300 AWD. For the first 200 kms., there was NO warning light in the dash. Today, the warning lights came on, plus the message plus the red signal. Help please.
  14. I am looking to purchase a set of winter snow tires for my 2006 GS300 AWD on separate rims. I have been told that if I do not purchase sensors for the rims, my tire pressure warning lamp will remain on. The Lexus dealer can check if sensors will fit the rims once I make a selection. Price of the sensors is approximately $400.00 I can purchase winter tires plus good used rims for about $1,000 versus the dealer winter package of just over $3,000. Is there any method to prevent the tire pressure warning lamp coming on throughout the winter? Thank you.
  15. What winter tires would anyone suggest for my 2006 GS300 AWD, please? How about the Toyo G02 Plus at 215/60/16, instead of the regular 225/50/17? How about rims - steel or alloy ? Thanking you
  16. Can anyone please recommend a bicycle rack for my 2006 GS300 AWD vehicle? I do not want to fit a tow hitch and I do not want to risk marking the body of my vehicle.
  17. Can the existing screen by utilized to show a Garmin after-market GPS, please?
  18. My 2006 GS300 AWD does not have the Navigation system, therefore does not have the back up camera. Can the camera be added to the vehicle and work with the existing screen, please?
