I'm considering 2 different GX's

05 GX470 with 29K miles - asking $31K (still negotiable)

05 GX470 with 47K mile - asking $27.9K (still negotiable)

I'm leaning towards the one with lower miles.......

The miles do not really matter in GX 470s...Lexus built the GX 470 solid!! I bought a 2003 GX 470 with navigation for 31k in 2006 and it's being wonderful....

Back-up camera is standard on 05 models....I test drove one in 2006..but the cost was higher than my pocket then - 36k...

Go for the 47k miles option if it comes with navigation..

HI Everyone, my name is Nduka..and I am based in Nigeria, Africa. In 2006, I bought a 2003 Lexus GX470 from Lexus Of Ann Arbor, MI. and shipped it to Africa. The GX 470 is not sold in Africa but there is a toyota SUV called PRADO which is very similar in shape but less luxurious.

The GX 470 has proven to be the best buy I have evr made in my life. It handles the rough roads of Nigeria, Africa pretty well and proves very reliable. Some parts meant for Prado like brake pads do match!

I AM WAITING for the next model of GX 470 to ship to Africa!!

It's cool driving the GX 470 in USA but it s even cooler driving it in Africa...where it gets stares all the time. I FEEL LIKE I kicked LEXUS in the butt for selling the GX470 only in USA/CANADA & JAPAN!!

My GX 470 even carries a personalised plate number - my surnname!

Anyone wants a pix of me and my GX470 in Africa??? B)

Hey all, A newbie here with a Prob.?

We just got a 2005 Gx last Sat. I noticed that when we got home the car made a hissing sound.

The next time it did it I saw the car go down a little in the rear along with the hiss. On this last Fri.

I took my wife to work and when we stopped at a light the car felt like it dropped three times..

Is this normal ??? I called the dealer and told them this and they said they haven't heard of the prob. before. Thay told me to bring it in on Fri. and thay will check it out.. I also was reading here about the clunk,

is this also true for a 2005 ??? I think I heard and felt it one time, but not as bad like some of you did. Please let me know about these things..Thanks, 05GX470

I have an 03 lexux GX 470 and I experience exactly same thing..but since it does not affect the performance of my car....I simply ignored it. I advise u do same!
