  1. using Amsoil 0w-20 right now..worth the $6.25 per qt!
  2. Try some JW stuff. There AJ is very close (almost 100%) to Cg5050 nuba
  3. If you are new, go with a PC and not a Cyclo. Rotary machines are for people who know how to use them. Once you use one correctly you WILL NOT go back. If you worry about burning paint you should not be using one. You also do not need to tape off etc if you use the products correctly. PC are great for starts since anyone can use one. For me paint correcting there is nothing better then a rotary.
  4. Do not feel bad, I had the same issue with a mouse. Messed up MAF etc. Can't get mad since the little guy needs to keep warm, LOL
  5. Around here Toyo and Lexus are the same price per hour etc. So I would not bank on that. Seals are not integral to any MIL/DTC codes. Cam seals and crank seals are like $40 and should be replaced when TB is done. The VC, for me I would just double check the torque on the bolts.
  6. I have stated for years years. Either a valve cover removal or UOA. Best bang for dollar is UOA. UOA=Used Oil Analysis. The sludge issue is overblown. Why? I am doing over 12K drains and the internals (via pictures) and UOA reports are greatr using Amsoil. Figure that out. This is in a 98 ES that is the sludge prone motor that is BS.
  7. I agree. There are other waxes out there you might like. Try them. LOL
  8. Sadam is dead dude! LOL.. The good old USA could not find there #1 guy so lets get Sadam too look good. So sad. I dislike this war and think it is a complete scam. I work for a company that makes MRAP's and the crappy quality, underpowered trucks and the profit they make is sad. A $550,000 truck (the tax payers money) is over HALF profit!!!!!They push "for the solders" but it is flat out lies. I love the USA put we are too global now and it will hurt us in the long run.
  9. What I do not get is that no one needs to pay for health insurance but everyone gets it. Example, in Texas 1 in 4 do not have Health care; gee, I am shocked. But EVERYONE/anyone can walk into a ER and get it. No money do not worry, pay what you can. I have seen it and the signs on the wall (english and spanish). I personaly think either way nothing will change in this area. We all pay either way.
  10. The problems with ethanol are: storage and winterization along with eats o-rings in carbs and sucks in lubricity. It is nothing new and I think no one knows the longer effects of it. I know my motorycles HATES it, big time.
  11. I agree it is your professional opinion but how long have you had this "professional" opinion? I name drop products not one product nor (1) website. There is a difference here. I think rightlook, along with others is AVERAGE products. Based on there site, not much to offer. I have posted MANY products and website; please look. I can name about 10 brands that are very good and about the same in websites. Putting wax under sealant is better but again some products dislike this comb; that is my years of using talking. I am not picking a fight but you are the guy who just got a "cert" to be called a professional (whatever that gets you)and thought you cannot layer wax (along with other things). When someone pimps one website and posts incorrect info I wonder who long they are in business (if at all). Being trained and doing real work with many products (experience) are not even in the same state. Anyone who details thinks they are the are very good etc. I know many car painters that train people etc and all think they are very skilled. And the end result is hacked. Again, after 12 years of detailing I have yet to find a BEST product. There are many good products that make a GREAT finish. Again there is no best product / website. It is all subjective and detailers should know this. Nope, no hard feelings and I know very little on car products and less on engine oils. I do know what I have used and always learn. I always say go to autopia to people to get a general observation on products.
  12. Lexus is butter compared to MB, porche etc. How does winter cause swirls???
  13. kluthage421- I have used OC and OHC. kick a$$ products. I have used much items from cheap compounds to overdusting and crappy work in times ones. OC/OHC work great. They are my go-to compounds due to great work times, no dusting and paint correction is wonderful. I strong advise people to get them. But any compound from PB, sonus, danase. CG, OC/OHC etc will work fine. Most compounds do not have fillers. But start with OC and see how it does. OHC will correct a car fast so be careful. Best thing you can do is go to autopia and read around. Site is great info dump and more then anyone single person knows. Lastly, stay safe in Iraq and thanks for your service!!!!!! jcrome04- So you are going to seal over a wax? I hope you did your homework since you might have bonding issues. Not starting a heated debate but how long have you been in the detailing business? There is no best and no one place to buy one single product. If people pimp (1) product.site a wonder how long in business (if at all). Even I do not have (1) product from one person/store. Not gonna happen. It most times is a personal thing. I have customers cars that like CG, some like Opt poli seal, some like a glaze. There is no best.
  14. not knocking ya, but diversify and get out of autopia store. There are better items/prices online like danase, CG, autogeek etc. Also you can use one bucket method with ONR and be fine. I have done this in NewEngland winters (salt/sand) and been 100% mar free. There is a post on it. But I use a MF wash mitt from chinamart. It is as soft as PB/CG towels (drying) but for washing. The problem with sponges is they do not have the same effects as a MF. For $4.XX well worth it in my eyes. Your MPG may vary....I started using the one bucket method based on Scottwax on autopia...works mint and only need like 1.5 gallons of water in winters (max). Lastly, unless it is hot out, you can wash 1/2 a side of a car with ONR then dry and be fine. It is on hot days it will dry to fast. At least this is what I found in TX. If you have hard water, you will need to take a QD to clean it up after washing (to get CA/Mg stains off). Oh, for leather cleaner you can use Woolite at 10 to 1 or 6 to 1...or spend more $$ on a cleaner.
  15. I would agree. My long time thought on buying a warrenty, as what I tell the sales person is "Is the car that poor I need it?" If you have good quality, in my eyes, you do not need it.
  16. ONR = Optimum No Rinse Wash & Shine. Nomral sponges are poor on paint. Use a MF sponge.
  17. Most dealers do not have break-in oil (just use normal oil). There is such a thing but it is not a normal item. The ring seating is BS. It will happen no matter what. The first oil change will clean all the crap out of the engine via assembly. Lexus uses Mobil oil (dino) and it will be fine for 5K miles; but I would do it sooner on change #1. Heck, dino oil is fine for 5K miles. Synethic will be better for various reasons and has benefits. But without going into dept, you are fine. I have a 98 and the sludge issue is overblown. Lexus did not recall any sludge cars. There where special processes that were in place if you had an issue. Lexus is why behind the times on oil I feel. I am doing way over normal drains and are 100% sure I am fine.
  18. What are you trying to acheive with a wax? Example, wetness, slickness, gloss, depth, shine, durability, longevity......Consumer reports on wax is a joke. Most "dot.com" sites are junk too so be careful. Go to autopia and have fun! the place is the benchmark for pro's. You will never stop learning.... When people pimp a product ask them to compare it to the others they have tried. If you wax your car like all the time, a cheap wax might be okay for ya. PS. I like optimum prodcuts for my dash or PB natural look. But armorall can be used.
  19. Your post is the best going! I agree 100%
  20. you girls! LOL At least Texas, 50 is cold!
  21. I agree DC. They last for $hit in my car. Based on other forums, I am not alone. The kicker is they last longer then PIAA. I bought a cheap pair on Ebay for $9 for a laugh and they blew OEM away. I was almost going to put my HIDS back in since I have 3 extra kits...
  22. You are in Florida and you should be warm! LOL
  23. Welcome to LOC!
  24. I can make this real easy for ya, autopia is the place......I have only done detailing for 12 years and autopia is the place. Case closed.
  25. In some states you would be nuts to do this. It does not matter you paid for it. I would not claim it. Talk to agent and they will tell you in a about 10 seconds.
