  1. Quick/Easy way to figure out what you get average on a tank (I know this maybe obvious, but I have posted it in other car forums and gotten a few "why didn't I think of that" responses). 1. Fill up. 2. Reset Trip 3. Fill up again. 4. Trip Reading\Gallons Filled in #3 (Gallons Burned) This will get you a semi-close number assuming you top off every time. My assumption is that most gas pumps will get you to about the same level every fill, I would assume that any two aren't off by more than a quarter of a gallon. I do this with all my cars, I have a '05 ES330, and the AVG in the trip computer is always close to this calculation anyways, I am getting about 25mpg with a mix of city/highway. 380 seems to be my "comfortable" range, I am sure I could hit 440 before sputtering to a stop on the side of the highway no problem.
  2. I posted this in another thread, but this post seems to keep bubbling to the top... Just for reference, if you need a manual, go to lexus.com, sign up as an owner with your VIN, and viola, you can download any manual you want for your vehicle in glorious pdf.... And to answer my own #4, google FM Modulator. Hardwired into the FM line, but $15 vs $250 Vais dealio.... Now if I could just get that dang navigation lady to understand a word I am saying....
  3. I figured a few of these out on my own: 1. Still no clue why, but the Nav manual shows it grayed out also, so probably not this make/model. 2. lexus.com answered this one, you can't, 2007 added this feature to the ES. 3. No mention in the manual, also the microphone is located by the homelink buttons, will try speaking into that and see if it gets any better. 4. http://www.vaistech.com/home.php - $250
  4. I just got my 2005 ES330, love everything about it. I am missing the NAV manual, so some of this might be basic things that are in there: 1. Can you control the climate via voice? I try the commands and I get no love. When I go into help the "Climate" button for help is grayed out. 2. I thought I read you could tie in your bluetooth phone to the nav, but I am not seeing any options in the menu's for performing the initial hook up. Where do I start, do I need to buy an adapter? 3. Is there any way to train your voice for the nav system, it seems everybody but me can have their commands recognized, I have to try about 3 times to get it right. 4. Anybody seen any AUX adapters for this head unit? Thanks in advance for answering any of the above.
  5. In the same boat, would love an AUX input. have '05 with factory NAV. Anybody know of a solution, searching is turning up nothing.
  6. Also looking for a copy of that manual in PDF: bdmurray AT google's mail service Thanks in advance. UPDATE: For those looking for this manual, or any other manual, just register as an owner on Lexus.com, all the manuals are on there in PDF form.
  7. Shoot, 2005 Lexus ES 330 FSMs.zip appears to be corrupt from that link. I download it and use winzip, gives me "Unknown File Compression", maybe I need a specific zip program. Edit: Scratch that, just the built in Windows XP compression can't open the file, get 7zip portable version or winzip and they open fine. Thanks again.
  8. Thx Lexucan, found the 2005 es330 manual there also, now I just need to get the owners manual and I am set.
  9. Pick it up tomorrow: 2005 ES330 w Nav for $19.9k, 60k miles on it. Should be a good deal from what else I see in my area. Just a few scratches in the paint, nothing horrible.
