  1. Just wait for her menstruation to pass, then you will be back in business.
  2. How about one of those massaging seats like the ones in the mall for every passenger. and liquid crystal windows on every window so you can control the amount of light coming into the car down to completely dark mode, which might have various uses...
  3. I car faxed it, and so far it seems a bit "iffy" have a look I saved the sites html content as an attachment here. Also for you folks that need it I have 14 reports remaining and I have no use for them. carfax_html.zip
  4. Ok got so if you want fuel economy drive a mouse "i.e. prius" if you want safety drive a box "i.e. volvo" and if you want a fun car drive a shoe "i.e. cooper" but if you want Luxury drive a 4250lb v8 gas guzzling brick "i.e. the ls400"
  5. That sound you just made sounds like Glenn Quagmire from the family guy series, but I believe I have the same problem so far it seems to be related to the suspension? not sure I am going to ignore it as it doesn't seem important to my vehicles stability.
  6. My car almost got towed for leaving it in a target parking lot, and in the sticker they mistook my car for a ""Toyota Lexus 2001"" not bad for a 1990. However I imagine I would have had a hard time explaining I was looking for a 1990 model on their lot.
  7. try www.craigslist.com this is also where I got an ls400 and paid only 2500 for it.
  8. I hope the same story turns out for me, or I might have to join an Acura forum. I am not loyal to cars that nickle and dime me, unfortunately I was stuck with 2 generations of ford Taurus. Those pieces of !Removed! needed a repair of some sort every 1-2 weeks!
  9. My quick guess is either some of the wires or spark plugs are not attached right or even d.o.a try putting the originals back.
  10. I would believe so, since these weren't sold there to my knowledge. Seems like ebay.com "int.shipping" is your best bet.
  11. I use Goodrich touring tires, quiet and smooth. But I suspect that maybe you are not running your tires at an adequate pressure? "38lbs"
  12. Like GS27? I use to love those. 'Watch me key this car!!!!!!' I have Meguiars ScratchX and use it seldomly. I need to try it out more. The one time I did use it was on my BMW and it did not do a whole lot besides smooth up the area. The fight continues. Why don't you try that "Meguiars ScratchX" on an inconspicuous area that has swirls and use it as buff as if it were meg and then let us know how it goes. Because technically the swirls are just small scratches caused by mother nature and wiping a car with dust without soaping it and rinsing it first. So this might act as a super car wax that you don't have to redo every week. However the cost maybe a different story, "But! if you order NOW you will not only receive 1 two ounce bottles, but instead 2 one once bottles for just $10 More!"
  13. True lighter foot=$ and that was accidentally proven on a myth busters show some time ago when they where showing how the draft behind a semi could boost your mpg 40% but as the test driver got really close in the end instead of saving more gas as he got closer to the semi he actually did worse mpg because his nerves had him beating the pedal.
  14. Hope you are doing well also, since you are selling parts how much would you charge me for the ac unit panel? Image> If you can post it on ebay with a reasonable buy it now price I can get it there too. My lcd part of it is distorted beyond repair so if yours still worked before the accident I would be happy to buy it from you. /John
  15. On the plus side this prolongs the time in between oil changes, I doubt a filter will magnet more dirt and insects.
  16. I have experience with NAV units in the IT field, to me it doesn't make any sense that a cracked screen would affect its functionality. That would be like blaming a computer problem on the fact that its keyboard is just missing a key. To me this sounds like minor system corruption possibly from the heat if these use ssd based storage technology "very sensitive to heat and some ultraviolet rays" or just plain system error. If I were you I would cut a deal with them, I would say look if you can prove to me that its the little invisible "crack" in the screen thats causing this to fail then I might just have to pay out of pocket, If you can prove its my fault. But if this is purely by system design and error than thats my warranty's responsibility. I wouldnt leave without immediate action and a straight response. At least not for 60k!
  17. I was just wondering, my ls400 has a few nicks here and there does this "miracle" scratch remover stuff you see on tv really work? I suppose if it did you could be using this as a meg's replacement. But I admit I am reluctant to try it my self because the ad's are so damn annoying that I refuse to support it unless if I know it works for sure.
  18. You know I was thinking the other day of an idea, cold air makes for more efficient combustion and hp and there are air cold air intake mods for this. But if you could somehow direct the cold air coming inside the car that cools use humans down and share it with the engine, wouldn't this make a significant mpg or hp improvement? Or maybe even build a simple ac unit into the trunk and have a pipe direct its cool air to the engine.
  19. Thanks guys, I will have a look in to it. I suppose I cant mind having a car nickel and dime me like this a bit, I guess its just the price for owning a beautiful and timeless classic. In fact its making me think real hard about actually cleaning out the garage to make it my Lexus workshop instead of the storage/garbage dump it is now. Also I got complimented yesterday about the car, really is a great car.
  20. I figured it out, The axles need to be replaced, I guess the word clunking doesn't make any sense because I got more results when I started searching threads and the search engines for "popping sounds" LOL
  21. I plan on upgrading a few things to see if I can improve my gas millage and I am wondering if its worth spending about $800-1000. I will put some iridium long lasting spark plugs, performance filter, high grade synthetic oil, and then regulate the air pressure on all tires and upgrade the ignition system further with an Ignition Amplifier, Ignition Capacitor, and a Voltage Regulator. I guesstimate that would allow me to squeeze 1-2mpg. Does anyone have some suggestions?
  22. I just purchased a silver 1990 ls400 w/170000 miles. The car is Great! I could say I purchased it just based on reviews alone! "4.9 of 5 stars KBB" But I noticed that there is a clunking or clanking noise when I steer on a corner while moving or sometimes though not sure when I go over a bump. Is there any way to tell what this is for sure? I purchased this car for reliability to escape the curse of being nickel and dimed, but hopefully this will be a quick fix and I should not expect to have further problems right? Also I paid 2500 for this car, would you say that is a good price? Thanks /John
