  1. The one that I bought off of ebay is not for sale anymore. I tried to look for it, but the exact one wasn't there. I found one very similar though. Maybe it's just because I'm idiot, but I couldnt figure out how to mount it properly. here's the link. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/98-99-00-LE...sQ5fAccessories what I did was just JB weld it to a part of my engine bay so it wouldn't rattle around. It sounds fine now, and it's rock solid. If I ever decide to change back to an OEM part.....well let's just say..I havent gotten to that far yet.
  2. I agree, great write up. My 2001 GS300 has 110K miles on it now so this is something I am definitely considering now. About how long does this job take for the weekend mechanic? Other than brakes, I have never worked on the suspension so just wondering what level of skill you need. I have done more than a few timing belt changes and a few long block swaps but basically all the work I ever do is in the engine compartment. So on a scale of 1-10 with a timing belt change maybe being a 7 (hope I don't start a flame fest for that), where does changing the front arm bushing fall? Is there any "gotchas" that I should be prepared for (such as better have a 4' breaker bar for the crankshaft bolt and make sure not to use a 12 pt socket)? I've read reviews that installing the Daizen front control arm bushings are a pain the rear. It's definately a job that should be done by a certified mechanic. From what I've read, you actually have to burn off the old bushings in order to put the new one in. I was thinking about doing this, but at the rate of $60 an hour, it would probably be around $600 for a certified mechanic just to install it. If I can find that review, I will definitely post it up here. *EDIT* I found it guys. It's not on the GS series specifically, it's actually on the LS, but the procedure should be the same if not similar. http://www.lexls.com/tutorials/suspension/fdaizenkit.html
  3. They are serious. Having those lights on means each of those systems is disabled. The person driving a car in this condition will not benefit from Vehicle Stability Control or Antilock Brakes. The thing is though, the VSC is not actually off. It's running perfectly. I've engage the VSC when the lights were on. To me, it seems that it's just an electrical problem. The module is not actually turned off, but somewhere in the wiring, there's a short.
  4. Hey guys, I was wondering what kind of symptoms are there for a upper/lower control arm that are going bad?
  5. GS300dude, I have the same exact problems, but it always goes away. I think it might be the wiring. There could be a short or something similar. I never went to a dealer because I didn't think it's that big of a hassle.
  6. GS lowrider, I bought one of those intakes that are about $40 from ebay. It works perfectly fine, but one thing that you'll notice is that they don't come with a strong enough bracing..it will move around and make funky noises. You won't hear the noises when yoou're driving, only when you're idling Gs300dude, I have an extra air-box assembly that I'm looking to get rid off. It includes everything, snorkel, airbox..just like an OEM part. it's weird but the site won't let me send you a message. so if you want, you can message me or give me your email
  7. First time posting here...really glad to be able and talk with fellow lexus experts/owners...but i have a question i've been wanting to ask.. Recently my wife drove the GS around...and she hit a curb goin bout 40-45mph...the front passenger wheel is bent horribly...I took it to the shop to get it repaired...turns out that the LCA, bearings, ball joints, etc are all bent and had to be replaced...the rims were also replaced and was balanced and re-align.. but now..everytime I drive it...and break..i hear this constant clanking noise coming from the front passenger side...it makes this noise everytime I slow down... and also when i turn the wheel to the right...it sounds if the ball joints are worn out...even though i just replaced it.. i'm thinking that this noise is coming from the suspension itself...but I can't be sure...what do you suggest? and if anyone does had a problem like this...what needs to be replaced so that it would stop making those noises? I did look around the forum and did find a couple of answer...but I dont think that what I have has been asked yet... Thanks for all of the suggestion and help!
