Oh, does the dvd have to stay in the nav unit or can it be stored elsewhere? Is this true for everyone? My cd player gets HOT and so does the passenger side floor. REALLY HOT. thanks.

I will get a pic posted in the next couple of days as I decide whether or not to keep it. I need the money more than the update, I think. It was an impulsive purchase. So, where is the nav dvd vs. the stereo dvd? well, of course I know where the stereo dvd player is...how do I differentiate the opening of one from the other? Is the nav dvd in a different location? Same here. I bought 2002 ES300 recently. Looking for Nav update dvd. Can you send me your email address? I just purchased an update on ebay impulsively and would rather use my portable. it is Gen2/3 7.1.

I have an Ice Link adapter for an ipod made specifically for Toyota/Lexus; I couldn't use it because the stereo does not have an extra aux out so when connected both the cd player and the ipod played...without the cd player running, the ipod wouldn't run. anyway, if interested, I will sell for $45...I paid $75.

Hi, thanks for answering. I did buy one on ebay...it looks like a high quality copy, though...another story...do I just put it into the cd player? Is there a process to it? Re the authenticity...do you know what an original disc looks like? Is there any kind of image on it? This one is blue with lines and in small print has the pn, etc. I think it is a laser print on a generic dvd but can't be sure. thanks, M.

Besides inserting the dvd into the stereo, how does one actually perform the update of the navigation system on a 2002 is300? thanks, SP
