Sooo...no one ever used spacers on their wheels or lowered their Lexus and had rubbing issues? I see many members photos of their GS slammed to the ground, if any of you guys reading this, what did you have to do to prevent rubbing?

Hi i have a 1998 GS300 and I lowered my car with coilovers. I lowered the front more than the back, car looks great and handels well, BUT I have had some rubbing issues on the 2 front tires. It is rubbing on the top inner part of tread about 1 inch in from the edge wall of the tire, at speeds over 35mph or when hitting bumps. It is rubbing on the upper suspension arm/the steering knuckle area. The 2 front tires are shot. I would like to keep it lowered and was thinking of adding 1 inch(25mm) spacers for the front tires (245/45/19) to clear the steering knuckle. and 35mm spacers in rear. Question is: What are the pros and cons of using spacers? Has anyone used spacers before and would like to share their experience? Would i have rubbing on the fenders? What possible damages can i cause by using spacers on a lowered car?

I spoke too soon. After adding Freon the lights on the control module now flashes (from insideair to Outside air) indicating their is an error logged in the system. And the compressor starts and stops along with the lights flashing. I think i over charged it. Or the system failed, any ideas?

Well guys I checked the pressure on the Low side and discovered it needed more Freon. Went to my local store and got me some Freon and added some while being careful not to over fill it, and WOW it's cold again. I guess I have a small leak somewhere. As for the problem with it switching by itself from head to floor air flow...it's intermittent and I won't worry about it for now. And yes I do hear a rattling sound from behind the dash before it starts to switch. When I find the leak I will post a reply. Thanks.

Hi I have a 1998 gs300 with 134k miles on it. My A/C NOT BLOWING COLD AS IT SHOULD on hot days. I had my A/C serviced a few times for the same problem, works good for a while then back to same problem. Also the A/C controls (floor/window/etc) acts up, doesn't switch when you want it to. Dont know if this is related or not. Anyone know what the problem is??

Hi i have a 1998 GS300, I am looking to upgrade the factory stereo. I have the basic stereo, no DVD, no Namaichi. I want to replace just the stereo head unit and use the factory speakers & tweeters. I understand i need to bypass the factory amp,etc. I have a few questions... Did anyone upgrade their factory stereo? If so, can you share your experience with us? Did you run into any problems,etc. ? How does it sound?

Think that's bad, the service Department at Lexus Of Orlando in Florida are a bunch of IDIOTS, years of money spent on misdiagnosed problems that turned out to be simple fixes. These guys cannot troubleshoot and repair nothing properly. They are only good for doing oil changes.

I just got some Tein CS coilovers, it's comfortable, car handels good, still a quiet ride.

Front drivers side speed sensor needs replacing, That's my .02 cents I agree I had 1989 Maxima, and the speed sensor that plugs into the transmission was bad/or unplugged.

Hi, I just lowered my 1998 GS300, with the front being lower than the back, and now the head light beam points downwards towards the street. Does any one know which screws on head light assembley to turn and how to point the beam upwards so that it points straight?

Hello, I have a 1998 GS300, with 128k mi. I need to replace the Valve Cover Gasket(the spark plugs are wet, with engine oil, dealer said it is valve cover gaskets). I have been doing some research, but could use some more info. I know I have to remove the Trottle Body, Spark plugs&Wires Etc. Do I need to also replace Stem seals? Does anyone know what the next few steps should be, in getting to those valve cover gaskets? Any Tips, Pics,etc? :)

What's up Guy's i have a 1998 Gs300 (126k miles) Every once in while when i put the car reverse the engine shuts off, only when i put it in R (reverse). I then have to put in into P (park), then start it again and then it works fine. Does anyone one know what this is? Is something about to go? Any input is welcomed, Thanks.

What's up guy's i am looking to get a Front Lip Spoiler for my 98 GS300, does anyone know the difference between Greddy and the TTE versions? Like what are the different materials and which is a better material and longer lasting???

What's up fellas.... I would like to drop/lower my 1998 GS300 about 1.5" . I have a set of 19" crome wheels on right now, i was thinking about Ebach Proline 1.5" springs. Does any one have these spring on right now? Or anyone droped their car? I would like some feed back on ride comfort, speed, handling, ect.?? Also did anyone have problems after lowering their car?? Thanks, i would like to also see some pics if anyone got some.

Hate to say it, but I mught have done the sensor before the ecu. I think i have found the problem, i found an exposed wire for the crank position sensor rubbing on the alternator. After i taped it up and removed it from next to the alternator, the car started right up. The next thing to do is figure out how to change it, and do it myself. Looks like the alternator is in the way, can't even see the sensor. Does anyone know how to get to it? I have a 1998 gs300, does anyone know where on the car it is located, how to test and/or replace it?

The problem came back, cranks but won't start, the dealer did tell me i needed to change the crank position sensor i guess i will need to do that, don't know how and why the computer fix the same problem a few months ago?

FYI, Lexus states this is normal! kind of a strange thing to hear! the service manager stated that "the compound" the fuel injectors are made out of starts to crystalize, not freeze...crystalize in cold temps. and given the fact the car was not started in 3 days, he says "it will take a min or two of cranking to start" i'm no moron when it comes to cars, i have a 9 second mustang i built completely by myself...i have never heard anything like this before I am have a similar problem, might be the crank position sensor or wire harness.

Hey guys, just wanted to let you know the problem is fixed. I got the ECU replaced, the ECU and Immoblizer (both are together on the same board as one unit, ECU) were not communicating with each other, also the crank position sensor had some exposed or spliced wires. The wiring on the crank position sensor was temporary repaired, will replace it later. The front end noise i had in other post, turned out to be the ball joints, thanks for all the replies guys..
