  1. I have a newly purchased 2005 LS430 - Balck. I noticed over the past few weeks, a few blemishes or dents that look to more than surface issues or wear and tear. The Lexus Dealer said that those few dents are not covered by the CPO. I went to 2 Lexus dealers and asked if they would have fixed these dents before selling it as CPO...they said yes. Here are my two problems: 1. How do I get the dealer I purchased the car from to honor this? Is there a middle-man or someone at Lexus that I can contact? 2. I also have an issue with the repair they did on the bumper. I had peeling of the paint on the front bumper and the dealer repaired the bumper by having their outside company repaint the front bumper (Picasso). This had to be done twice due to the peeling again. The second time they repainted the half of the bumper. They did such a horrible job that the bumper looks like stucco. There is so much embedded dirt in the paint that it even looks bad. There are puddles of paint. The car was still dirty from when I brought it to the dealer. The bumper still had dirt on it. They did not even clean the car or the bumper. The dealer said that this is normal...I think it is horrible, especially being a black car. What recourse do I have if the dealer will not do anything for me. They are an "Elite of Lexus" Dealer. Thanks for the help. Peter
  2. I purchased my 2005 CPO LS430 last month. After one month, the paint on the bumper began to peel and bubble. I took it back to the Lexus dealer and they "fixed it". About one week later, it started to peel in other places. I took it to a shop that deals with Lexus vehicles. They told me that the only way to solve the problem would be to replace the front bumper. The original paint job was not done correctly and each time they fix one area, a new area will peel. The shop stated that it would take more time and money to clean and repaint the bumper rather than replace. They also said that whoever fixed the problem last month did a lousy job since the paint used has dust particles in the paint (from painting it in the car lot) and they even left the tape under the bumper. The sliver strip on the front bumper has paint on the bottom and top where they used tape but did a terrible job. I will be going to the dealer later this week but wanted to know how to handle this? If it is a CPO, would they be responsible for this? There are a few other "defects" in the paint from the previous owner. I have to say that it is not my fault that they Lexus dealer did not check out the car before certifying it. I did an overview inspection of the paint but after one month, their touchups are not holding and the defects are coming through. Just want to make sure I am not asking for too much. Thanks for the help. P
  3. I have also used Menzerna Products. They are German based and work great. I use the orbital and had great results as an amateur. How do you clean the wood trim on the inside of the car? My stearing wheel has small scratch marks from the previous owner's ring. Is there any way to get rid of those tiny scratches...you cannot see them but only feel them on the wood wheel. Thanks, Peter
  4. I have a 2005 LS430 CDP (Black with Ecru interior). I noticed in the engine when I open the hood, several of the plastic screws have popped up or out. I cannot screw them in since they just spin around. Did they use the wrong ones or did they not fasten them on the botton side? I even noticed these popping under the wheel well. If it has a plastic screw in the from or under the hood, it is popping out. I push it in but then the next day it is popped out again Second, what does Lexus CPO do when they sell a vehicle with a time windshield crack in the corner (not a visiion problem). I just want some amunition before I go there this week. 1. paint pelling---questions answered 2. popping plastic screws---is that poor workmanship 3. chipped windshield upon delivery--fix or replace under CPO Thanks for all the help. Peter
  5. Sunday 1pm CST Sunday What does "rollockin" their paint shop mean? Never heard that termt and tool brush? after rollocking their paint shop. should I ask for the updaed DVD for Nav since it is CPO, as well as the cargo net. Kust seems natural to askl Great news to hear. The dealer is in Wisconsin so I hope they have a good body shop. They did not talk off the bumper and tried to painted around and you could see the paint on the crome and headlight, as well as tap left inside the engine. I will ask them on Monday. thanks greatly. I bouth the car about 2 hours from where I liive. P

  7. I just purchased a 2005 LS430 CPO from a Lexus Dealer. The Carfax was clean as well as the service records. The first time I washed the car, the paint from the front bumper started to flake off. What a surprise when I saw this. I called the dealer right away and sent pictures to them for review. I am waiting for a reply but want to know if this has happenend or what it can mean. I noticed that some of the rubber molding under the one front wheel well is out of place. Looks like the bumper was removed. Second, when I drove off the lot, I noticed a small crack in the corner of the windshield. It can be fixed with the glue that they use so it does not spread but what does Lexus say about a CPO vehicle that has a small crack, but in the corner of the windshield and not in view of the driver. Your help would be appreciated. First time Lexus owner and past Mercedes owner. Peter
