ok- so my power steering pressure hose popped, most of it is steel- but the 6" piece of rubber blew a hole in it.( I am wondering why this happened) i am going to replace only this rubber piece to see if the pump is still ok. does anyone know how much pressure it should hold, and where I could get just a 6" piece of it? should i replace the clamps on each side too? will this work? thnx!

HRP- the pressure hose is mostly steel- but the part that blew is the rubber 6" - do you know what pressure this piece should carry- ot how to find out? I am going to replace just that piece, as the rest seems fine.

Thank you again, AZ--but would a used one be ok?.....a new one is $400.00- just checked with ALBQ Lexus....!!! Auto Parts has one for 187.00.

hey guys- could you help me with this one? started the car this morning...heard a whine and then a hose broke on drivers side very front of car- foamy red fluid on the ground. Is that a power steering hose? :(

my mechanic is not happy about this. in fact he really doesn't want to even do it. i might have to haul it off to some other city to have it done.

not only is my starter solenoid clicking- but i am also getting a buz- not beep- a buz upon startup. hoping this is just part of the starter going out? should i give it :( up?

yea, i'm gonna replace the starter motor- once he gets in there-it would be crazy not to......got a quote for about $1100.. but prolly more....... this is it.....i'm trading it in on a mazda!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

my starter is clicking and it has been going out for several months--decided to replace it. my mechanic says he can do it----any tutorials on this procedure? my mechanic is an engine guy, so i feel confident he can do it. apparently it is in the V of the engine, and it is quite a job. anyone else had this done?

so, i took it in to my mechanic......and he said that my starter was going out! it has been clicking for a while...and i thought so.....soooooooooooo......new lexus starter $262.00...and since it is in such a crazy place...why wouldn't it be??? he gave me a quote of $1100 to replace!! he said the labor would be about $500. OUCH!!!

my temp is always just a little bit above half...always has been, and i have no leaks...don't think. my gas gauge is the one that flies all over the place...never very accurate.

thanks! i can't figure out what it is , but coming from that area....could it be the tensioner itself...does it squeak? that is the only thing in that area that has not been replaced!
