  1. Had a wheel alignment done last week, still got the same problem. Looks like it may be a bent rim. On closer inspection as well, the front right rim has 6 balance weights, whereas the front left has about 20 of them! I'm taking the rim in to get straightened in the weeked, then rebalanced. Hopefully this will solve the problem. Will post later :)
  2. The other weekend I decided it would be a great idea for my friend to take my car out for a spin, little did I know that thats actually what he would do... He came around a 90 degree 35kmh corner at about 60-70ish, which would have been fine except he planted boot on the apex, and of course the backend slid out and the car ended up going completely perpendicular to the road at about 80kmh. Later I found out that this caused sidewall damage to my front left tire, with a little bump, and at the same time my car started jittering (this is the best way I can describe it) at 100ish. I took it into the dealership and asked them to sort out the jittering, and they told me to replace the tires and it would fix it. Two new tires later and the soarer still jitters when I get to about 100. It is smooth up until then, and goes away again at about 120 onwards. Has anyone ever encountered a problem like this before? The only thing I can think of is that it has slightly bent something somewhere. The only other thing that I thought of was that when I had my right steering boot replaced, the mechanic had to actually take off part of the steering mechanisim, and just threaded back on to about as many turns as he took to get it off. He mentioned I may need to get a wheel alignment after that, but the mechanic who told me it was the tyre assured me that it wouldn't be a wheel alignment issue.
  3. Yeah turns out it did need quite a top up. It sort of fixed itself tho, just left it for 24 hours and it pretty much came right. Must have just had air in there somewhere.
  4. So today when I was trying to fix my horn, I was trying to take the front off the steering wheel and so i was turning the wheel full lock left and right with the car off. Once I had finished putting it all back together I went for a drive only to find that the steering is now quite alot heavier, and that the power steering pump is making whining sickly noises when I turn the wheel, and last but not least the steering wheel is jerky and stuttery when turning sometimes. I realise in retrospect I shouldn't have turned the wheel alot with the car off, but any suggestions as to what has happened or how to fix? Thanks Tom
  5. The horn on my 91 Soarer is working intermittently, and I'm not quite sure why. Sometimes when I prod the horn (bottom left side of radiator) it starts working, but then other times it won't start working. Also I notice that there is another horn at the top of the radiator, on the right when the hood is popped. Is this horn connected to the other one? I've read bits and pieces on horns working intermittently and seen such things as getting new relays. What should I do? Cheers Tom
  6. Nevermind, figured out how to remove it over the oil cooler :) You learn something everyday i guess
  7. Hey there it is the front low cornering lights which come on when the indicators are on. Thanks for the tip to reach in, however on the left side there is an oil cooler (i think) which is stopping me pulling the bulb out. Any ideas?
  8. Hi there, I just bought a 91 V8 Soarer last week and am loving it... Its my first car :) Anywho, the left side turning light is blown, and I have been attempting to get at it but I can't quite figure out what to remove. I have searched around and found a few guides but couldn't get it. Any help would be appreciated, Cheers Tom
